hearth arena, arena value - and the usual suspects on twitch. Trump, kripp, etc.

trump rarely plays arena anymore and he isn't even that good anymore. kripp is really solid in arena but he rarely talks about his moves since most of the time he is either stuffing his face with food or just being salty.

Your best bet would be ratsmah or Adwcta(he also has a youtube channel) they play arena and nothing else and they talk about all of their moves. So you can see their logic behind the moves they make.

One thing to keep in mind is that ratsmah and other streamers have their own type of play style and tempo.  If I were to go into drafting a deck with some of the key cards that ratsmah uses I would fail miserably.  Some of the cards he plays would be very low when it comes to heartharena's value. Also hafu is another popular arena streamer, but she doesnt really commentate about her decisions much.

Another streamer('s) is he makers of the site heartharena.  They stream every sunday I believe.  They are really good at explaining their drafting and card usage.

posted a message on heartharena go a little crazy on drafting late game cards?

So I have been improving on arena(average 5 wins) and I would like to think that its mostly because I'm using heartharena to "guide" me.  I dont just autopick what it suggest but I find the site suggest way too many late game cards.  I ended up getting a couple 12 win decks that was about 95% what they suggested so I know the site isnt that bad.  Anyone else come across this?

edit: by late game I mean they are trying to get me to pick up to 4-5 5/6 picks before the 15 pick point.

Maybe you're just not talented enough, it sounds harsh but it could just be the case.

It's like in real life, you can study and work as hard as you want and you will improve yourself but that doesn't guarantee that you will reach your goal.

If i read your openings post,  it's pretty clear that you're not self critical, You can't say you're good enough to get more wins because the facts (results) say otherwise.

If i read your first reply it's starts with you accusing somebody that wants to help that he doesn't understand but that's not the case, he just says relevant things that you don't want to hear. Namely that you are not as good as you think you're.

it's easy to say like kripp always do that you're never lucky but that's just a way to avoid you being self critical. Yes your opponent will get "lucky" with rolling a spellpower totem and crackle your face for a 7 damage lethal but in most games there were made errors before that outcome.  Find those mistakes and you will improve and remember you also get lucky sometimes.

I was thinking the same thing.  I can understand his reply if there were people on here trolling him with no advice but every reply to the OP has been constructive

posted a message on Arena bug?

you dont have an android device do you?  I have been having some problems with apple devices and the HS client as well, especially with arena drafting period.  If you do have an android device try using it with the hearthstone client.  It should kick out all of your devices connection to the client.

ex. I tried buying an arena ticket with my ipad and it got me stuck in the authorization screen.  The only thing that worked to kick out my ipad out of that screen was logging into HS with my s5

use heartharena instead.  much better than arena value.  Also since your somewhat new try and play mage or paladin.  Mage more than pally because mage isn't so card reliant.  I'm not amazing at arena but I can usually squeeze out 9+ wins and I'm pretty new to this game.

and this is why arena is a joke

It is.  I regularly get 12 wins and I don't even bother with tier lists.  Any of the cards are good enough.

Constructed isn't much better though.  I just took my free account in EU and hit #1 legendary in it last week.  Just got bored of it all.

...yes I'm calling BS on the 9+ wins on average thing. :P

I would like to see some screenshotted proof that you average 9+ wins in the arena. That seems pretty far-fetched to me for being a 'new' player.

I doubt even the top arena players average that many wins because of the randomness of the drafts and opponents.

please quote where I said "average"...

Harness the skill to know when to go face and when to trade is basicly the ultimate goal in arena and it will help u have high win rates overall, but it is not an easy task at all due to the arena format (id say its easier in constructed).

I too sometimes play overly cautious, but less so lately, i dont think u can get this "skill" other than from experience, u need to know how ppl play if they have for example aoe in their hand, or hard removal and if they dont, if they "yolo" or just slightly show their "hand" by the play they make and u need to spot these nuances and make use of them.

Your post kinda seems to me as if u were saying "hey nubz, u dont know how to play arena, iv got a free wins vs u hahaha", mby u dont mean it like that at all, i dont mean to offend u, but that is how it looks like to me. Like i said earlier, i think this skill is quite dificult to aquire. It would seem like u already have it, so good for u ;-)

Than there might be the situations, where u have almost none spells in the deck and especialy no aoe nor weapons and u know that once u loose board control, u dont have a single card in the deck that can help u get it back and win, so even if it is super bad for u, u need to clear and try to stay ahead and cant risk your opponent to board clear u and never to get the tempo back, but that is a little more specific example and there r more of those ofc.

I'm sorta new to this game(started during beta then stopped until now when they released android app) and thats the way I took the OP's post.  He just stated that we dont know what were doing and doesn't offer a solution to fix it.

Dude I was rank 12 within my first month of playing this (without spending money) with a completely basic deck. You are probably making a shit ton of misplays.

watch out everyone we got a bad ass here...

to the op dont worry about rank because in the end it doesnt mean that much unless you're going for legend or top 5 or so.  Just practice all the classes and learn about their strengths and weaknesses.  If you really wanna climb though then just be a scumbag face hunter like me :)

thanks for the replies guys.  Yeah only playing face hunter is boring but its hard to face(no pun intended) people who have multiple legends.  I'll just go ahead and get dr. balanced :)

been lurking on these forums for a bit, and need some help so thanks in advance.  From what I've seen Dr. boom is used in more decks but I'm not sure if that card is going to be on the chopping blocks.  I'm pretty sure Leeroy is in a safe place from being nerfed and its a pretty decent card.  I play quite a bit of hunter(yes I know, scumbag me) and it seems like its the only way to climb as a beginner.
