Even Quest Rogue i'd say is a ballsy choice. But i like this thinking of making a complete anti control line up, i just don't know how smart that is since its bo3 at start.
Yeah, so since you have two decks picked, I'll look at the win rates for those two and see what they're great and terrible against and we'll see if we can find a good 3rd and 4th and ban.
There's always going to be a deck you're screwed against. We just need to try to make that the same deck for all or most of your matchups, and then you know your ban.
The thing is during the group stage its very important which decks i choose and ban since its only bo3 and there is a lesser margin for error when picking and banning. If i just pass the group id be super happy and more comfortable once i know what my opponents decks are.
I'm not really scared of any variant of hunter, since i have a lot of experience in the mirror and i do have the tools in my Shudderwock to beat him as well since i have two 1 mana silence and other stall tools to get my shudderwock up and running. What i want to say,i'm really comfortable with playing against any deck with these two decks. The problem are the last two decks. No matter what i choose, there is a deck i don't believe i can win against. Lets say i pick Even lock. For me ,the deck struggles against Odd rogue, Malygos Druid,Odd Warrior or control mage. If my opponent has two of the mentioned decks, which one would i ban? Since my opponent is unlikely to ban my warlock, i have to play against one of those decks with the warlock. I guess my pick would be Odd rogue since its still possible to beat Maly and control, sometimes.
Well, any numbers will do, really appreciate it. I like the idea of choosing to ban a single class every time but i'm still not sure what class that would be.
So if my 3 decks for the group stage are death rattle hunter, Shudderwock Shaman and Even Warlock, the question is,what would my bans be?
Hunter deck has a lot of anti aggro tools and is weakest to odd rogue and odd paladin, other than that can beat anything. Shudderwock can struggle against druid and aggro, again. As for warlock, he can beat druid with demonic project and aggro, except Odd Rogue so maybe when it comes to banning Rogue is the mayor contender to be the banned class?
My top contenders for the last two spots to take are Even Warlock, Odd Paladin, Togwaggle Druid ,even maybe Big Spell Mage,Odd Quest Warrior or Token Druid. From the mentioned, i believe Even Warlock would be a good pick for the 3rd spot to use in group stage, and as for the 4th deck to go with, the more i think about it,the more i bang my head since there is always possibility of being weak to not 1,but 2 of my opponents decks.
You need to pick 4 decks when entering the tournament, you can use only those decks throughout the tournament. In group stage, against every opponent you choose 3 decks ,out your 4 brought, which you want to use. Then you and your opponent ban one of each others 3 decks and you need to win 2 out of the 3 games. Its conquest format,so once you win with one deck, you can't use it again. After the group stage, you use all 4 decks but one will be banned. In the final there is no bans.
Greetings, I have a tournament coming up this Sunday and i could really use some help on choosing my lineup.
First off,let me tell you about the format. It's conquest. We need to bring 4 decks. The group stage is bo3,deck lists are closed. We can choose which 3 decks (out of the 4 we picked) we want to use against somebody, meaning i can switch decks between opponents. Top two of each group go on to top 16 and from that point deck lists are open and its bo5. The final is b07. Through all stages(except the final), we can ban 1 deck from our opponent.
Now, I have no experience playing tournaments. I know how to play all the top tier decks and i'm a regular top 1000 legend player but i lack strategy on tournaments. So far, i have chosen to play 2 decks and firmly solid on playing them. It's death-rattle hunter and Shudderwock shaman. Now for the other two decks i have a lot of options but i'm not sure which would suit my lineup the best, i'm not even sure what would be my 3 decks for the group stage.
My question to you is, what two decks would you recommend? What three decks would you choose for the group stage? Which deck should i prioritize to ban? Now, when recommending decks you can suggest any kind of deck,i don't have issues with building any deck,i have the cards and the skill to play them. I only need to gain insight in how i should approach banning and choosing my decks during a tournament,so even if you have been to one tournament,10 tournaments or none, i would really appreciate all the help i can get!
Off the bat,I'd say that this lineup is weak against a control lineup since hunter can be banned, but the question is,how many people would actually bring a full control lineup with so many cube hunters, combo druids and Shudderwocks roaming the current meta?
I'm in the middle of making a lineup but i would like to hear a second opinion on it and analyze it more. Would you change a deck? What would your ban strategy be? How would you handle this deck if it were your opponents line up? Any thoughts on it,positive and negative would be highly appreciated.
I usually come to this one point when playing a deck that i think ,is this deck really good or am i just playing it poorly, should i change some cards in it or should i try playing more games with the same cards. So my question is , how much do you play a deck before changing something in it or just realizing its good/bad?
Its conquest with bans, bo5. I will look into how quest rogue is doing on ladder in the following weeks for me as well as even lock and see what i will choose.Thank you for your sharing your thoughts :)
So i have my very first tournament coming up and i could use some help in choosing my lineup. Its conquest format, bo5. So far the decks i'm certainly taking are deathrattle hunter and shudderwock shaman, as these are the decks i'm most comfortable with. As for the other two decks, im thinking between taunt and maly druid, quest and odd rogue, or even warlock.
I can play other decks besides the ones i just mentioned, it's just that these decks i did mention, i have a feeling they are strong from playing them on ladder, though i do not know how they would fit in a tournament environment.
Any suggestions, tips are welcome and i want to thank you all in advance for taking your time to help me :)

Conquest format, bo5 with one ban.
This is the line up:
-Deathrattle Hunter
-Even Warlock
-Even Shaman
-Odd Paladin

Was this conquest or last man standing format?
