posted a message on Control dead?

Have had a pretty easy time playing odd warrior on ladder as it farms every aggro deck played at the moment. Worst match up is clone priest but haven't run into many of them and the shirvallah version of paladin OTK is also winnable so I wouldn't say control is dead but more so adapted. Hence why quest warrior has spiked in popularity because you stand a better chance against OTK decks since your win con isn't fatigue.

Thanks once again Kiwiinbacon, any time you make a deck for a class i play, i immediately get the deck and play.... always having a blast with them.  I have tried a few decks to get the black guard rolling and had some success in wild with a few heal cards there where he basically always cleared my opponents board.  was so fun, but was only about 30% of the games i really got to pull it off.

my biggest issue is i have to be damaged for the heal to make him do his proc. and with all the healing going on it was actually hard to keep damaged for this to work.  any work around on that?  My best/most fun games i actually let my opponent get me down to 10HP or so then started my healing and letting the guard bomb face

Could try running crystalizers as a 1 drop to damage yourself!

posted a message on Nerf Sonya Shadowdancer

As a control player I think having checks on this style of play is fine. I think the quest has seen enough nerfs and the cool pieces within the deck like sonya are fine as they are and don't deserve a nerf. There should be decks like quest rogue that punish greedy, slow decks because it is a system of checks. Quest rogue in any variant has abysmal win rates against anything aggressive so it gets equally as punished by aggro as it does to control. In return, control punishes aggro by having seemingly endless ways to clear the board and stave off damage. People need to stop complaining about every single card in the game and start playing smarter. If you are getting butchered by quest rogue and constantly queuing into it, stop playing control decks that lose to it instead of being brain dead trying to force what you want to play.

I just came here to see how this thread was still possibly going but I suppose I should contribute. I like the pre-orders and the special little bonuses, 10/10 would keep buying again.

posted a message on Puzzle labs not worth it.

Okay stay with me on this one, it was free to you and cost you absolutely nothing to play or kill time with. And as a reward for logging in you were given 3 packs plus the card back upon completion. The hearthstone community is such a joke when it comes to new content. Everyone says how easy it will be before release then upon release day 80 forum posts are made begging for solutions or how it wasn't worth the time. It's free content, enjoy it.

posted a message on How many games do you guys play a day

I usually play for about 5 or 6ish hours per day playing nothing but friendlies and play testing different match ups. Then other days I will do nothing but push for rank goals using decks i tested prior while friends spectate. If I had to estimate I probably play close to 30 to 40 games per day dependent on the deck.

posted a message on Looking for help building a druid deck.

If you are looking for something budget to play with druid and the death knight there are probably some Big Druid lists out there. You can really use any big minion in the list because the whole point is to overwhelm your opponent by ramping out big dudes and too much pressure. On my f2p accounts I often use iron bark protectors, boulder fist ogres, and theirs a lot of common and rare big minions you could just jam in there. The tutor effects aren't too expensive to craft either.

posted a message on What's wrong with Casual?

Honestly a decent fix could be improving matchmaking to heavily weigh on each users card collection before pairing them up. Would be a subtle way of keeping those with less cards from matching against those that have nearly finished collections. In short somebody brand new wouldn't see high tiered lists and would be more apt to match against someone with a collection similar to theirs. Small disclaimer: this wouldn't stop someone if they were to just insta craft a tier 1 deck out of the get go and never make a card again but at that point the person is just handicapping their progress. Otherwise I just suggest people to play ranked because if you are going to face powerful decks you might as well get an end of season reward out of it. Thoughts about matchmaking improvements? Is my idea crap? Open to any and all constructive ideas and opinions.

posted a message on Is it possible to beat Control Lock once Gul'Dan is out?

In my personal experiences playing as a control warlock I get wrecked by tempo mage with a good start or death rattle hunter if he gets an early rexxar. I have found that against the tempo mage I need to have the coin and hellfire to stand a reasonable chance. Against the hunter having silence for the early egg and a later cube is super important.

posted a message on Ban a class format..

My only issue with this is the fact that decks like freeze mage or kings-bane rogue for example could just ban the only bad match-up they have and destroy everyone else without fear of a bad match-up. Also what happens if say the mass of the community decides they wish to ban druid. What happens to those that wish to play druid? Suffer through ridiculously long queue times or not be able to find a match at all?

posted a message on do you like an aggro dominated meta ?

For Question 1: As a player who has enjoyed control decks for a long time I actually enjoy aggressive meta as that is what you have the most success against and the whole optimization, tech options, and mulligan strategy leads to a fun experience trying to grind them out of resources and ultimately win the game with a decent finisher.

For Question 2: Besides favoring aggressive meta I like how hearthstone has been a revolving door for which play style is given its power run. Not for sentimental value but from early on hearthstone was very aggressive with decks such as undertaker hunter. Then there was the reign of control warrior and priest. Combo saw its day with patron warrior and it seems now with all the new tools people have been experimenting with that combo might have its time in the sun again for a variety of classes which is awesome.

posted a message on Boomsday: What Counters Druid?

Personally The subject 9 card interests me so I will probably play around with a mid-range or aggro secret Hunter. The spell stone is still very powerful as well as having gas for the eagle horn bows and ever growing secret keepers on turn 1. My only wish is for maybe there being a card similar to cloaked huntress to be revealed within the card dump.
