Awesome, a 4 card combo that clears your own board next turn as well :p

I like how no one is talking about the obvious meme this card is. It's not meant to be a competitive card.

posted a message on Tess Greymane is Not Disenchantable for Full Value, Clearly a Mistake, Right? [UPDATE]

I don't think it really is a nerf in this case, because how often is Tess silenced or removed because of its own battlecry halfway through? And how often do you get more than 30 battlecries? Doesn't seem that happens all that often.

But it's definitely a change. People crafted the card thinking it would do X, and then Blizzard changed it to do Y instead. Even if Y is very similar to X and not necessarily worse, it's not what people spent their dust on.

Blizzard put us under the assumption that we get full dust refunds if cards change. But then they randomly don't do that for some cards. That's really shitty.

Dark Pact should only work on demons, not on the cube..

Then it's just a sacrificial pact that heals for a little more.
I would just nerf Dark Pact to heal for less while keeping the fact that it can target any friendly minions. Cube Lock relies heavily on the healing it receives from various cards, including dark pact. If the healing of Dark Pact is nerfed to just 4 health, I assure you the winrate of cubelock will go down quite a bit. A deck like cubelock is supposed to be weak to faster decks, but it's not purely because of its insane healing.
True, but the problem is that you Cube your Doomguard and have the possibility to kill it in the same turn. So you can deal 15 damage in a single turn. If you would limit Dark Pact to demons, the cube doomguard combo will be destroyed.

The combo isn't necessarily the problem. There's many combo decks out there. The problem is that combo decks usually have trouble staying alive until they can fullfill the combo, while Cubelock doesn't.

I'm pretty sure more people watch Trump reviews to see what card he rates 1 star, only to have it become a busted-as-hell card in during the expansion just to be able to say stuff like "Defile, 1 star", "Corridor Creeper, 1 star", etc. Then when he does Trump Reviews Trump Reviews it becomes even funnier in my opinion as he tries to explain why the card is still a good card, only to have the 'desired meta/deck' to appear and not run the card anyway. Can't really say the same for Kripp, but I guess the best thing to do is not focus on what streamers/others say.

Admittedly he only rated Defile as 1 star because he didn't think a viable warlock deck would emerge. He didn't think the card was bad.

Which shows the entire flaw with his format. I don't think grading a card based on how much it'll be played makes sense at all. It's very possible for an amazing card to just not fit in any of the decks in the current meta. Grading a card on potential makes a lot more sense.
In the case of Defile, he was actually grading the control lock archetype in the new meta, rather than Defile. he gave it a bad score because he didn't see control lock happening.

Sure, but councilman was good because it could so easily spiral out of control. It was a lot better at its job than this card is at its respective job.

Maybe this card is printed solely because Wickerflame Burnbristle rotates out, and they wanted a similar but still somewhat different card to take its place for control paladins. Blizzard has printed a ton of cards with similar effects to other cards that are rotating out. It doesn't necessarily need to be just as good, but I'm sure this card could fit in a few control decks, if control paladin ever becomes a thing again. Maybe even in quest paladin, because you'd need to buff your minions anyway.

Maybe it's about the hunter's 3/3 wolves? This card at 3 attack is a good counter to them.

I don't know, that's the best I could make of it.

... No, the meme is to not have any healing in your suicide lock mate. You want to die as quickly as possible. You don't heal.

If you want to meme by adding the spellstone, then that's a shitty meme.

This expansion is definitely pushing the quest more, but other than that... Yeah, a little confusing.

Good point. A lot of people underestimated Darkshire Councilman exactly because 5 health is really hard to get rid of at turn 3.

I guess a difference is that you can then protect your Councilman on turn 4 with taunts, while it spirals out of control behind the taunt. That won't work on this card, considering it gets taunt itself.

As a master translator, can you please explain to me what the hell these "n/" things mean? That's by far the weirdest part of his comment.
