Hunter has basically no card draw. This allows you to cycle late game dead draws or to fuel aggressive decks or tutor spells.  Meta defining.

Of 1500+ votes a DEFINITIVE amount of you think this will be a great card??? I love Hunter and am so excited for the direction this expansion is turning the class towards, but this card just doesn't add to the value of this expansion. Spell Hunter has the most upside for this card, and even then the spells this will cast probably fill your board with 3/3s and add a handful of secrets which is decently useful (unless of course youre dead to direct damage). Personally I wish this card was more interactive with midrange. Afterall, the expansion is centered around gladiatorial combat.

The hero power: oof. Really I pay out 10 mana and the best I get is 2 damage to something of my choice? I can play odd mage and not surrender my turn 10. Flavor has been tremendous for Hearthstone with card designs that feature new functions. Throw it all away on your only hero card for this expansion and give it a recycled hero power? Definitely lame, definitely fringe useful, definitely not defining.

To add from a lore perspective, all that makes sense is he held the title of Witch Doctor. Spell development from that standpoint alone is the only thing about the card that makes sense. He was given to Hunter however, and has been listed as both a Warrior and a Rogue by lore. Seems like a bit of a reach, though that doesn't necessarily matter in HS.

    3/5 stars.

Think about that for a second. Spell Hunter has to run ONLY spells, that means that this card gets worse and fills your board with 1/1s and randomly targets damage at yourself. No thanks!

I'll run this in Midrange Hunter where I can choose to only play Crushing Walls, Secrets, Deadly Shot, Animal Companions and maybe a couple of card generators. You then save this card as a comeback tool to clear the enemy board, fill your board, equip secrets, and generate cards. Its better than Dk Rexxar as a tempo swing, if not as good in control/value generation.

Yogg was random spells with random targets, this is spells you've cast. The difference is insane and Yogg is basically trash in comparison. 10 mana for 2-5 animal companions, 4+ secrets, a couple spellstones worth of wolves, and some random  damage here and there as compared to RNG nuke fest where you draw yourself into fatigue, buff enemy minions and wipe your board.

This *can* fit in spell hunter, but it works best in secret hunter or midrange hunter where you dont have to add every type of spell and can pick only good ones for this battlecry

Runespear is the only truly bad one, the Walock one will be good during the phases of tech and meta. The rest are playable and some just broken good.

Anyone questioning Aluneth should remember mech mage and consider what itd be capable of doing with 3 free cards. Might even be possible for a burn mage with that kind of fuel.

Most of the weapons require building around, which is awesome. Who wants to play the exact same deck every month but with one or two card changes each expansion? Get out od here with that. Let the deck builders have some fun, then you can netdeck their stuff and realize how powerful these weapons can be.

Thats why it needs another card draw. I dont think tracking is good enough. But generally you just wait, its not even as bad as drawing patches in opening hand so long as you have stuff you can play.

The deck in this video is very similar to what I imagine would run this card. Potentially dont even need the Barnes Yshaarj depending on what else is released.

Theatre Hunter: control hunter with Barnes and Yshaarj. All other spells are body apells or control spells. Use tracking to find combo.

Each companion is worth 4 mana value, with the randomness being the downside and thus costing 3 mana. Packaging two 4 mana minions together means that it also counts as a card draw which is roughly 1.5 mana. Basically this is a good value card.

The main two downsides of such a deck are the lack of draw and the lack of heal. If control hunter cant find either, then dont expect much play.

Im waiting for some more eggs to be released this set for a nice egglock using Reveler, Pterrordax, and Unwilling Sacrifice. Maybe only viable in Wild otherwise, Runic egg is lame and the others are expensive.

I think discolock will be slightly more stable this time, and we need more reveals to find out what control cards Handlock has been given.
