posted a message on Zephrys The Great is not all that great

I just watched a Paladin play this overrated card. What did he get out if it?

    Summon a random animal companion

That is just one instance out of many. I see this card played in almost every match. I guess it’s trendy. Very rarely does it win a game as the cards I see used from it aren’t the best. Of course, the ads Blizzard run on every YouTube break will have you believe you’ll constantly pull a Tirion.

Not worth legendary status. Maybe rare.

There has never been a meta where every class wasn’t played.

There have been metas that didn’t suck. Your numbers don’t prove this meta does not suck.

Big Priest is a goddamn cancer in Wild and anyone who says it isn’t is either playing as one or rides a short bus.

This is more about consistency. They create a Wild format with no intention of messing with any of the cards, only to mess with some cards.

They decide it’s not a good idea for a minion to have the ability to give all minions a cost of 1, then they release Luna’s Pocket Galaxy.

There are many more examples of course.

Here is Blizzard's reason for everything they do: Money. There is nothing wrong about it and no, I'm not going to explain why. Save me the trouble and figure it out for yourself. ;) Sorry for being so harsh, but people being this naive make me sick... :(

But you’re playing the game. Here’s your barf bag.

Also, I wouldn’t require your explaining. Do you honestly think you know capitalism better than me?

Yes fanboy. Any criticism belongs in the salt thread except there is no salt here. But congratulations on being the 10,000th member to post that link. Here’s a cookie.

posted a message on The toxic nature of Hearthstone

Hearthstone provides a toxic atmosphere that serves as the basis for much of the aggravation that is present, particularly in the thread in which players are allowed to voice their displeasure. It is quite fascinating that these behaviors are accepted instead of contesting Blizzard for creating this negative environment to begin with.

Consider the emote system. It is highly unlikely Blizzard implemented such a system with the idea that players would use it in good faith by promoting sportsmanship. Instead, the exact opposite has occurred. For a game that is advertised as being fun, it has much work to do to succeed with that standard.

Another layer of aggravation is the RNG element that provides even more frustration. There are too many instances where RNG decides the winner of a match. What Blizzard has done is manufacture a game that serves to annoy much more than to please. Even more perplexing is they have earned a considerable profit doing so.

Questions: How does one explain such a conundrum? What is Hearthstone at it's core? Is it simply a game or is it an addiction with terrible side effects?

    Discuss.

These decks fuck hard Big Priest easily:

Aggro Flamewalker Mage, classic Aggro Mage, Quest Mage (both versions), any Rogue deck currently, Paladin & Shaman murloc decks if BP dont pull any AoE on turn 5. Also all Reno decks with Brann, Kazakus, Zephyr, Zola, especially Warlock is so painful to beat with Big Priest.

MechCthun Warlock is also insta 100% GG Well Played, I concede for BP.

I see all above mentioned decks from R5 to R3 _ALL_ the time.

These all are perfect counters for BP, stop crying all the time.

     Big Priest player confirmed.

Let's see… aggro takes no thought. Control warrior takes not thought. ____ (insert deck you can't beat) takes no thought.

But the deck YOU play takes skill and planning.

    I'm detecting a trend here.

Was this directed at me? Because I've never said aggro takes no thought.

Control Warrior (the current version, with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius) is the only archetype I consider to be truly braindead.

Directed at anyone and everyone who claims a certain deck requires no thought to play. It's been said many times in these forums about aggro. It comes up just about any time a deck emerges as exceptionally strong. The fact that Control Warrior is very strong DOES NOT mean that it takes no thinking to play it. If that were true, every player who owns Dr. Boom would be legend right now.

Incorrect. The only skill required to play this game is deck building and even that is mostly negated by netdecking. The absolute truth is basic math and reading is required to play Hearthstone and no more.
