posted a message on So sad it's so expensive...
    Quote from zeus007 >>

Hello guys, I think this is a different post about how expensive is this game (especially with all the corona going around).

My main point is that I am extremely sad that I can't follow the game anymore because of how expensive it is. I love the game, I love the lore and although I have critical mind around cards and things going on, I never let that game cause I love it. I decided to stop playing it only because of how big is the cost. Me myself I've put a lot of money the past years and now that things got difficut I realised that if you want to follow that game I have to pay. And honestly, as sad I am, i cant afford it anymore and you can't really have fun If yoi don't pay. If you can make one deck and hit legend, then cool you can do it, but it's not what it's only should be about.

Please don't troll this post or write "bye bye we won't miss you" cause my purpose isn't a rant post. Its just to express my sadness of how this game made me stop although I love it.

    Peace!

OP, sorry to hear you're going through a tough time. Hopefully things will improve and you can start playing the game again. You clearly enjoy HS which is great - it seems that people who actually like the game are a small minority on this dumb ass forum full of whiners.

Hearthstone is crazy expensive. If my financial situation changed for the worse I would also stop playing immediately. There are way more important things in life to focus on especially when times are tough. I have very limited time to play so I make sure I have as many of the cards I need to play any deck I like so I can enjoy the game when I do get to play it. If I weren't able to play this way I wouldn't play at all. Grinding hours a day just to build one deck and carefully craft the legendary or epics I need has zero appeal to me. That's what playing MtG was like for me as a teen - I never had the money to keep up so I was always playing some makeshift crappy deck and trading my way to get the cards I wanted only to be flattened when a new set came out and I'd have to find a new deck to play. Basically starting all over again.

So yeah man, I get you. Hope things improve for you soon.

posted a message on Some of you don't deserve what you think you deserve

In general OP is correct although it's surprising that a forum mod would post something with such an antagonistic tone. There is a misconception that Hearthstone is free to play. It is but only in a small way. The only way anyone can realistically keep up with the meta without spending money is to play a lot and to be very careful with their crafting and de'ing. Otherwise it just isn't feasible.

To me Hearthstone is a free to try game. There's a big difference between free to try and free to play. When I first started playing HS I never thought I would actually spend money on the game. But after a few months of playing and enjoying it I decided to start buying packs. Maybe a decision I'll regret in a few years but I'm having fun right now!

HS Is not a cheap game. Keeping up with the new sets requires a considerable investment several times a year. Right now I'm OK with that because I enjoy the game. But it is very close to becoming too expensive to justify.

As difficult as being f2p must be, at least you can still enjoy the game to some extent without spending money on it. That's something at least. You may not be able to play every deck you'd like to and sometimes you may not have every legendary or epic you need to make a top tier deck but you can get by just fine. There are many games out there that you have to buy first in order to play but HS isn't one of them. Blizzard has been generous with free stuff like packs when a new set launches, 5 free legendries with Galakrond, Silias, Sn1p-Sn4p etc. They don't have to do that.

If you don't or can't spend money on the game and don't have the time to grind everyday that's fine. Just know that the rewards will be limited and you may not be able to fully enjoy the game like those who do spend money on it. That's OK imo.

posted a message on Shaman total crap for the third expansion in a row

Shaman is not a class I play often but it does seem like Blizzard has a tough job of finding the right balance for it. It's either waay too strong - Tunnel Trogg Totem Golem 4 mana 7/7 aggro, Even Shaman, Shudder / Quest, Gala - or just irrelevant in the meta. I'm not really sure why that is but I think Shaman's mechanics just don't work. The hero power is very meh and overload is a way to shoot yourself in the foot more often than not.

It's a shame (man) really. The class is kinda cool and does appeal to me but 9/10 times I'd just rather play something else. It seems to have everything or almost everything to make a solid control deck but it never quite happens.

Edit - who can forget the days of mid-range Shaman? Ugh. Thrall seems to either be king of the meta or in the dumpster - no middle ground.

posted a message on New Shaman Legendary Card Revealed - Grand Totem Eys'or

Over the last few months I've been absolutely steamrolled by Totem Shaman a couple of times. It's usually a free win for me but when you don't have answers to their early game things get out of hand pretty quickly. I don't know if this card is enough to give the deck the consistency it Eys'orly lacks (see what I did there??) but man this is a solid card. Pitty it's for such a fringe deck.

posted a message on New Paladin Legendary Card Revealed - High Exarch Yrel

As a standalone card this is a very good card. But I don't think it's enough to make Pure Pally better than the Libroom version. Libroom Pally is just better in almost every department. I don't think this card is enough to change that.

Great to see Soul DH getting some much needed support. Deck was seriously lacking that killer ability to do 20+ damage a turn, this should do the trick!

posted a message on What is the most annoying/frustrating deck to play against right now?

It's still Face Hunter and Aggro Demon Hunter for me. DH Is the most boring class in the game and that's saying something when you have a class as one dimensional as Hunter that's been around since day 1.

None of the decks listed in poll really bother me too much. Druid is probably the worst offender because it can high roll for sure but they just get curb stomped when they don't draw their ramp. Anyway, Druid is still my fav class so maybe I'm biased. I've played a lot of Guardian Druid and it's not that OP aside from the occasional Kelthas turn which I admit is slightly ridiculous.

Also love me some Control / Thief Priest. Imagining my opponent bashing their head against the wall in frustration does bring a smile to my face!

posted a message on I Am Disappointed in the Hearthpwn Community

OP, I agree with the gist of your post. Unfortunately it seems like the whiners are the only ones who actually bother posting here. Thousands of nerf this and that threads, tons of posts bitching about Bli$$ard - it's like they can't win no matter what they do. It wasn't always quite so bad but I've noticed it's become a lot worse since we thought the site would close down. Seems like we lost a lot of people who never came back.

Anyway, on a positive note: I've been enjoying the new expansion quite a bit actually. There seems to be a a decent enough deck for every class which is great. It doesn't seem like there's one deck that's completely warping the meta like DH release or Gala Shaman - just some very powerful decks that are beatable. Seems good to me.

posted a message on So what legendaries have you acquired on day 1?

Pre ordered both bundles. Got Soulciologist as my free class legendary and Disciplinarian and Windspeaker as my goldens.

the 135 packs were the worst openings I’ve ever had, only five legendaries in total. Was quite glum. I then bought another 51 packs with gold and opened another 4 legendaries. None golden.

golden packs weren’t great either. Two epics no legendaries.

    def not the best.

No, this is the big downside of opening packs early. You'll get your golden legendaries on the official release time. This is why I'm not going to open my packs early this time. want to see what goldens I get before I crack those packs!

Currently 311, can’t believe I actually just counted them. I have a handful of non golden and golden duplicates in there so unique cards is probably around 305
