I think with duels balance needs to come first and then a big event celebrating the mode and getting people to try it again. Many people are like me and have tried duels a couple times but the balance in the past was so unbelievably awful it just felt like an alpha version of a game mode. Why would I want to play something that's clearly so raw and unfinished when I could have a way better experience on ladder

Control warlock is really popular right now but that doesn't mean it's good, it just means everyone is playing it. Spell mage or spell damage mage counter it pretty hard. Rogue can also beat control warlock consistently depending how you build it.

I like Tickatus warlock. I have never played it but the idea of an alternate win condition than just curving out and hitting your opponent in the face appeals to me. I get it people don't like playing against control decks that do stuff other than just playing minions on the board but we need decks like that otherwise hearthstone is a stale game.
