posted a message on Cubelocks beware!

    Nice OP. Here's my take.

    cubelock:

-wants to slay the ladder day one and crap on your dreams as he climbs your corpses to legend

-easily wins the mirror whenever you try to play cubelock because you actually can't play for shit

-knows how to adjust his deck to beat aggro or cube, so he doesn't have to whine on the forums

    priest:

-whines about cubelock and paladin all day

-gets beaten by cubelock because he knows how your deck works better than you do

-netdecks because only good players know how to finetune priest

posted a message on Merits of Summoning Portal + Phantom Militia Combo in Cube Warlock?

Ive played once vs it and seen streamers use it, its an actual deck. I play standard cubelock and from my perspective it seems weak,  but its probably stronger vs aggro than my build.

Then again, its rare enough that maybe its just objectively worse and just used for fun.

Ask yourself why would you even run gnomeferatu? WTF is worth milling apart from guldan this meta?

Plated beetle honestly seems fine, if you dont want to run cube cards like giant or faceless.

posted a message on PSA: Dont concede!

Sure crazy stuff happens, but I dont think it's time efficient to sit and pray your opponent will disconnect somehow instead of just starting the next game when you know you lost. Speed is just as important as winrate when laddering, and if youre not laddering the who cares if you win by a fluke anyway?

By OP logic, if we follow it to it's extreme, we should rope every single turn in case opponen't DC's. Functionally thats what is suggested here.

posted a message on Are midrange and aggro the same thing today?
    Quote from Burberry >>

Midrange shifted to the tempo side, so it is the aggressor. Aggro most of the Times want to go face, after achieving board control in the first turns. Midrange/tempo however wants to keep the control of the board also on the later stages of the game, while going face only if lethal is achievable in a couple of turns.

Honestly because of cards like bonemare, an aggro deck will almost always value trade anyway. Not seeing much of a difference in that regard.

I remember playing aggro deck in naxx, my top curve would be 2 doomguards or two savvanaghs, or a leeroy. 6 mana tops.

Today every deck is also running bonemare+ corridor creepers. Zoo warlock have guldan, Paladin have tirion, and honestly midrange and aggro decks look like the same thing now (rather aggro has bled into midrange I feel).

Is there even a clear distinction to be had now? The last two meta midrnage decks I remember are murloc paladin (which eventually morphed with aggro variant) and hunter back in cthun, which topped curve at 6 and then skipped to call of the wild. The value in that midrange deck was about the same or less than an aggro deck today.

posted a message on My thoughts after a week of expansion

Just adding on to my last point:

What did you guys expect? This expansion has about as much diversity as is possible.

All the best decks from the last expansion are already very established and strong, no new tier 1 archetype is suddenly going to pop up in a single expac worth of stuff, at the end of a cycle (freeze shaman, anyone?) .

Adding very strong new cards, that will be added to the current good decks, is the best way to shake up the cardpool you see IMO.

Thats so strange, I haven't seen a single one yet. All dragon and big priest so far (12 EU ladder atm).

Im personally loving the expansion because of the warlock love (playing zoo atm). Arcane tyrant was also fun to try in jade. Dire mole and corridor creeper breathes new life into aggro druid too. I guess I dont mind seeing the same decks, because they all have strong new cards- thats enough of a change for me.

I think we may be due some balance changes after a month or so, which will shake up the meta too. Maybe even enough to put secret hunter into the higher tiers too.
