    Hey all,

Im curious which of the two cardbacks is rarer currently. I'd appreciate if you could fill the poll to give me a rough idea.

    Cheers!

posted a message on What deck should i use to climb from 5 to legend ?

just went from rank 3-legend on europe today. played aggro druid the whole way. faced LOTS of aggro druid, pirate warrior, midrange paladin so token druid is favoured atm.

I saw very very little jade druid, if people realize this people might play more anti-aggro priest since there is way more aggro than jade.

    Quote from citcelsyd >>

how come u think someone "invented" any given meta-deck?! There are so few reasonable cards that almost everyone, at least a community of at least 100 players per class will find the best possible deck almost automatically -- if some "pro" or his fanboys claims the invention it's just ridiculous!

Also true. Considering the sheer amount of people that play this game, odds are even the publicized inventors are only the second, third or fourth to get the idea. The important part is sharing it with the rest of the community.

What are some names to look out for as the new meta decks start taking shape and old ones are being refined? All I know is fibonacci's twitter for control warrior and saw reynard mentioned here (as a streamer he has little presence on hearthpwn though).

Edit: ty all ill keep an eye out for these. Whoever suggested innovation ill leave that for games like netrunner where the entire cardoool is available and experimenting is low risk.

    posted a message on soooo it's a N'zoth expansion?

    A) the meta will NOT slow down, no idea where you saw anything that stops aggro.

    B) the deathrattles released are weak.

In short I dont think nzoth will see play.

Probably the class of your free deathknight.

     That's a horrible idea IMO.
Just wait and see what will be good OP. This expansion doesnt look like it will change the existing strong decks (pirate warrior, taunt warrior, mdirange pala, control pala, miracle rogue, token druid, token shaman, freeze mage, secret mage etc) by more than 0-2 cards tops. So whatever was good will still be good, as for new deck we'll have to wait and see if anything sticks.

posted a message on Expected impact on the meta- analysis (by class)

So we finally have all the cards revealed! I'm sure like me many other have been hoarding dust waiting to see what deck they should craft next, so please join me in trying to figure out what will be meta next.

Here's my attempt at a breakdown. If there is an mass disagreement or other call for change in the comments, I'll fill it into the OP.

    DISCLAIMER:

    A) Everything is of course purely my opinion, feel free to respectfully disagree and provide your own.

    B) Of course there will be initial excitement and testing of many new archetypes. I take a skeptical approach and assume once initial excitement is over most people will settle into only the strongest builds as usual. This means I won't talk about anything that isn't obviously strong. I'm sure many cards I ignore will prove to have some potential in the future.

    C) To be entirely clear, I'm only interested in whatever decks are likely to become consistently legend-worthy, Meme decks are basically ignored.

    Warlock (still meme)

I'm sorry to say I haven't noticed any obvious miracle to suddenly make warlock competitive. Feel free to fill this in for those who enjoy guldan, but I won't even be considering him personally.

Aggro players be ready to play around defile.

    Rogue ()

While I'm sure miracle will remain the only build as it pretty much always have, I don't understand rogue well enough to comment here. Someone else can take this one.

    Mage (no change)

    Secret mage- No change

    Freeze mage- No change

Control mage- The mage DK might be run to complement medhiv value. This deck has never been too popular so impact=minimal.

    Hunter (no changes)

Midrange- In time tested tradition, I believe this will remain the only competitive archetype and stay unchanged.

Value/Lategame- It's funny that hunter, in my opinion, got some of the most interesting and potentially good cards this expac. The problem and irony of course, is that hunter at it's core just isn't suited to the play style being pushed here.

    Warrior (minimal changes)

Pirate- No worthwhile cards. Will benefit early due to everyone attempting to run the DK's, lich king and other cards that wont get played till turn 8/9/10.

Taunt- Blood razor is a consideration. Otherwise still seems like a safe, unchanged deck, especially vs the slower meta we'll likely start with.

Control- I don't believe control warrior will be competetive, but many will no doubt want to try it for the DK and dead man's hand testing so I expect to see a few. Blood razor is a strong consideration, and the lich king provides a much-needed potential wincon vs control decks (problem being every other control deck will want him too, so still tough for warrior).

    Priest (minimal changes)

    Silence- No change

Dragon- Bone drake and scalebane are looking like considerations, I'm not sure if priest feel dragon-starved in the 5+6 mana slots. Overall power level wont seriously change even if they are run. Shadowreaper anduin looks like the card that might have more impact if included.

Full control- Shadowreaper anduin looks like he could up-the-ante here also.

Meme- I'm sure some kind of eternal servitutde build will show up and fizzle out competitively.

    Druid (considerable impact)

Token- Tar creeper will likely be replaced with crypt lord. Personally I believe fledgling has long outlived his usefulness and be running both. Druid of the swarm as a 1/5 to be buffed is also looking interesting. Saronite chain gang is looking like a potentially solid include.

Jade- With the new anti-jade skulking geist, we will likely see less of this deck in it's current form.

Big-EZ- Lord spare me, I dont even know what to say about this meme. Someone help me out here.

Control- Druid is the only class I see potentially getting new, strong archetype this expansion. Perhaps a jade shell, with spreading plague for extra control and auctioneer replaced with ultimate infestation. Lich king and the DK could push a non-infinite, board-centered game

    Paladin (considerable impact)

Control- This is the only deck in the current meta I can see almost definitely wanting a DK. Uther of the ebon blade is already commonly considered a strong card, and this could easily simply be thrown into current control paladin builds. Considering the healing effect on the weapon, ragnaros or forbidden healing are looking likely to be replaced.

Midrange Murloc- Possibly the DK as a final 'all-in' instead of deathwing.

Corpse taker is looking like a potential include in both. This card might just be overrated currently.

     Shaman (considerable impact)

Token- The DK is looking like potentially, a very strong include.

Freeze- The new shaman being pushed, while probably not strong, will likely show up for a while. The DK looks like one of the few potential wincons in this low-pressure lineup.

    Neutral

The lich King- likely a common control include.

Sulking Geist- He exists, hopefully it will be enough.

Bonemare- There was some hype about this. Hard to tell what decks it could actually fit in.

Well, I think you have enough tools now to make a full anti-aggro deck

     Like?
A taunt centric druid deck would probably be solid. Spreading plague and the druid DK both seem strong vs aggro. Could probably slot into a jade shell (replacing auctioneer with ultimate infestation).

posted a message on What cards are consistent, genuine game-winners in Arena?

Hmm I wouldnt classify most of the cards people mentioned as truly game winning on their own, but everyone has different experiences I guess. I would consider dinosize and spikerigged to only really help seal a balanced game, or one you are only just starting to lose. They cant really recover a bad board state on their own.

Backstab definitely is amazing, rogue in my experience wins less with big cards and more on just snowballing early advantages repeatedly into a dominant board state. Surprized no one mentioned vilespine actually, considering we started talking about slightly weaker cards. For rogue I would count a mix of some backstab, sap, vilespine or envenom weapon to be on the same level as the cards I talked about.

The black knight is another card that occured in my mind when I went over arena stats. He can fully swing even a losing game, but only in the right scenario (which is quite common).

Primordial drake Ill agree recovers games a LOT. Again wouldnt put him on the same level as deathwing or kazakus but very solid card indeed.
