posted a message on [Curse of Naxxramas] That Class Challenge Druid Deck

My favorite part of that challenge was making the Stoneskin Gargoyle a taunter and laughing maniacally as it was virtually unkillable by the ai.

But yeah as said above you can't have 5 stoneskin gargoyles. Having 2 for the purpose of giving them taunt may be viable tho.

posted a message on Worgen Infiltrator vs. Argent Squire

I believe it's due to the divine shield. It allows the argent squire to be useful in a lot of situations like getting buffed by argent defender into taunt means it requires 2 attacks to kill. It works well with buffs to kill things, ie you could rockbiter it to kill a 4 health minion and still have a 1-1 left over. Also it's effectively immune to one aoe whereas worgen infiltrator will be killed by any and all aoe.

Only time i really see worgen being better is killing things with 2 hp other than that the divine shield of the argent is just more useful.

posted a message on Alexstraza still used?

Alex is mostly used in control warrior and sometimes hand lock. Those are the only decks that I believe really use it so if you don't like/play those you'd probably be safe DE'ing her for a legendary more applicable to your decks.

Of course if you find it useful and can create a deck that synergises well with it other than those two more power to ya lol

posted a message on Best Giant?

Pretty much what lahs said. Sea giant can be useful in any class whereas the molten giant is most useful in weapon classes and warlocks (because they reduce their health by themselves). Also the sea giant is playable in every game (provided it makes it past turn 10). If you're in the lead and have high hp a molten giant is a dead card (granted in that situation it doesn't really matter) and in top deck wars a mountain giant is a horrible draw.

Imagine how the addition of strong threes would influence the game. Would it make aggro more viable? Maybe turn two hero power would be the best play? What was blizzards thought process on making twos so strong? Am I a total baddie and just miss-value threes? Share your thoughts and keep it nice!!

The main idea was an early interactive board. Most 1 drops trade well with most 2 drops.
And as you've already noticed, most 2 drops trade well with most 3 drops.
This virtually guarantees you a good start for both players, if they have a lovely manacurve in hand, and lowers frustration.
It is just not that easy to overrun you, when you have fitting minions in hand.
To make the game more interesting, the gap between 3 and 4 guarantees you need to invest extras (from hand or field) to trade successfully.
With the transition to 5 mana, you suddenly have tons of different healthvalues, making outcomes more unpredictable.
Add in taunts becoming less strong in those areas (either having tons of health with hardly any attack, or hardhitting with low health; exception druids), and the game really starts to entertain.

The game just adds a bit more complexity with every extra mana, just by having such "easy" things.

How important do you think this gap is to the flow of the game? Do you think blizzard will introduce higher raw power 3's in future expansions or will the remain gimmicky model they currently seem to use?

As you pointed out threes mana is the beginning of more complex card combinations. But would stale raw power threes really hurt the flow  enough that blizzard won't make any?

Also Brewmaster can be a downside depends if he loses you a significant amount of tempo.

There are some strong 3 cost spells as well - I left them out as the list seemed focused around minions (ex: Shadow Bolt)

So, what is the best play turn 3 im a warlock deck., removal cards? healing? or even just the hero ability and a one drop?

That's a tough question, there are too many variables: what archetype are you playing, what's on the board, who your opponent is, what archetype he's playing, what play you expect next turn, etc.etc.

Sorry.. I guess I went a little wild there... I wasn't trying to point out everything you missed but I do agree with you that there was a line drawn .. sort of .. with 3 drops where they are really not that great on their own or are great class cards.

No it was a Great post going wild was exactly what I wanted!!

After reading  these responses the conclusion seems to be the same. Blizzard wanted threes to be strong but not by themselves.  My opinion of Blizzard has actually increased(if that was even possible). My initial thought was that under powering of threes unintentionally but it seems quite obvious that blizzard wanted turn three to be the beginning of decision making and synergy.

Maybe when the Expansion is released we will see the flow change a bit to really make a huge shift in meta do you think 3 or 4 raw power neutral threes would cause a significant shift ?

Yeah, I think the early game is drawing to a close at turn 3 and the mid-game is getting started. In my opinion, Aldor Peacekeeper and Big Game Hunter are by far the strongest standalone 3 drops in the game despite requiring an enemy minion to combo with. A 4/2 is always going to be a target and a 3/3 is a solid 3 drop, especially considering it neuters any enemy minion.

Note: Don't ever Aldor PeacekeeperVenture Co. Mercenary

That's my favorite target tho! I can feel the anguish in the other dude when I drop that aldor

posted a message on Drawn Out Kills

speaking from me personally I enjoy finishing people off with my hero, so if I have a weapon in my hand that can kill you or i can make you go to one HP and then use a hero ability i will. It's not really to spite the other dude or anything i just enjoy it.

posted a message on Taunt Cards

    Hahaaa! Ya 'mon!

I do love some of the voice acting.  Has anyone played Illidan Stormrage?  with the sound on against a Druid?  instead of "You are not Prepared!" he says "hello, brother..."

Cairne Bloodhoof has a similar effect :) when played against a warrior he says something like "You are not fit to lead the horde!"

It was kind of ironic seeing as the one time i faced him with my warrior deck he's the one that wacked me for the killing blow.
