posted a message on Was it really necessary to nerf those Mage cards?

Mage was not really wreaking havoc, before the nerf I was like let's see but now after playing for a few days with the nerf I dropped to a 40% WR, it was around 50%.

I thought 50% was what they where aiming for? I went back using my big spell set up (here the dragoncaster is nerfed to 7 mana), I get around 50% with this, despite this deck is a sucker against aggro. But as I said before, I am not really sure if these nerfs for mage where necessary, it just pushes me to use Face Hunter again (I don't really like to play Hunter) and that is a shame :-(

posted a message on Gold for Dust?

Would it be an idea to buy dust? 1G = X amount of dust?

Because buying card packs with gold, then dusting the cards etc. Maybe it would be something to just swap Gold for Dust?
Has this been proposed? Is it a silly thought?

I really hate it when I am 50 dust short or so, could do with swapping some G for D instead of finding cards to dust or to buy a pack then dust them etc.

The type of deck you play determines your opponent when climbing ladder. For example add a swamp ooze or a kobold stickyfinger and or even a wyrmrest purifier to your deck and you won't get warriors anymore for 50 games only 1 warrior and without them for 50 games 12 warriors.

posted a message on The RNG mechanism isn't really Random?

At least it feels that way, I personally think there is something wrong with the coding.

I will try to explain, let's pick a random summoning card like Netherwind Portal. There are in total 101 of 4 Mana Minions in standard to RNG from.
So let's say 1 in 100 chance to calculate more easily. Last 2 games ago I had 2x Kargath Bladefist (not that I am complaining)

First time it is 1/100 but the second time it happening is again 1/100, but both for the second time it happening becomes 1 in 10000?

Just now I finished a game and I had 2 x Kargath again. Again I am not complaining it is a nice card to get, better then getting a desert obelisk with Jandice Barov :-)
But it really doesn't feel like random, I most likely will get a lot of flamers again (like if Blizzard is their Family Company) but again this suited me but not my opponent I guess, I am not really complaining, I just want to point out that it feels fishy in my experience.

posted a message on Why so serious??? The Hidden Truth about HS

To be honest, yes I am dead serious when I play HS. Reason is quite simple: I like card games and HS is still one of the best out there. There is one more factor that I want to mention, I am married and have kids, thus my game time per day is very limited, this is the only game that gives me at least some satisfaction for that limited amount of game time (if the RNG gods favor me I have a blast of a time, if they don't my whole day gaming day is forfeit)

That is why I hate people who rope, that is why I hate silly disconnects or slow players even at 1 mana(jeez what is there to think), people who go filling their time with emotes instead of playing.

So yes I can get angry or frustrated sometimes because my game time is limited, I play a game to have fun and have some quality time, the moment my expectations are not being met it is normal to get frustrated or angry because I need to wait 1 day before I can play again.

I would very much like it if this card was a neutral card and not paladin only. The name in my opinion suggests that first day of school counts for all during scholomance no? Maybe I am wrong, you guys have some idea's about it?

I don't get all the complaining about rng. It's a board game, and you can roll that dice and have fun with it. It would be boring without rng, you would learn all of the rules and the biggest nerd would win everytime, what a fun game that would be.

Also "early hearthstone" was not fun, scarriest cards were flamestrike and mc tech. Don't fill the board and trade by value were only rules.

Yes indeed, if you want no RNG then play chess. But a card/board game shouldn't be slots either, sometimes HS feels like playing casino slots. I think OP want's to point out that.

First off - this isn't a salt thread so if all you're going to do is post a reply with a link to the salt thread then please don't bother.  This isn't about one deck or card being OP, more about the general tone of the game.

The main point is that I'm pretty disappointed with the direction this game has taken.  So much of what made Hearthstone Hearthstone is gone, and winning and losing seems more and more like some crazy coin flip. It feels like there's very little interactivity and too many games end up being decided by random events.  Take aggro.  It used to be that you had to manage the minions on board, play around board clears and keep some resources in hand in case there was a board reset.   Now - you just dump your hand and endlessly re-fill your hand.  Board clears have been power creeped by minions so you don't need to worry too much about those any more.  In contrast control is mostly absent because the excessive resources avialable to aggro overwhelm the available removal.

Look at the decks which have made up the recent meta and you can see they all either have some cheesy gimick that makes them viable or they can draw their whole deck in 10 turns.  You can also see there are almost no control decks.  I've highlighted some them below but feel free to disagree.

Mage - full RNG whether it be mana cyclone mage or highlander mage.   Whether it be a board full of 5/5's and 8/8's on turn 4 or a clutch Reno spell to turn the game RNG is the key.  Don't expect to attack with your minions either - they're too cold...Turtle mage (now dead) was also a blast to play against.

Hunter - mostly aggro/face these days.  Drop your hand and go face.  Use snowballing tempo tools to make some highly effecient mana plays to stop your opponent doing anything (via secrets/hero power combo).  Refill hand with voracious reader when resources are low.

Demon Hunter - I only see soul shard DH.  Hit face every turn while removing every minion the opponent plays and doing stupidly large burst damage/mininon removal/healing at the same time.  Refill hand at will and draw entire deck by turn 10.

Paladin - mosly libram/pure/broom - Despite all the hate paladin generated I don't actually feel this deck is too bad.  It lacks draw and can run out of resources but can also steamroll you if the minions stick.  Doesn't really do anything super cheesy appart from Argent Bragart and Lady Liadrin. Still has potential for RNG through Lightforged Crusader

Priest - res or Gala - both feel gimicky and are influenced heavily by card draw RNG (as priest has essentially no card draw) and "created by" RNG.  Neither is fun to play against (and I say this as a former priest main) and winning is often a result of genrating the right resource at the right time (or because your opponent fell asleep). The mirror match up is a clown fiesta of the highest order!

Warrior - two varients Bomb and Big.  Bomb warrior is close to turtle mage in terms of interaction.  Remove minions, place bombs, repeat and hopefully watch the oponent slowly die with nothing they can do - bnous points if the weapon attack goes face.  Big variant - cheat out large minions early.  Doesn't work very well in the current meta and is also heavily dependant on the order you draw your cards.

Rogue - mostly face. Deck strategy - me go face and draw my whole deck.  You cant target my minions so they nearly all get one attack in on your face.  I never run out of cards in hand, but sometimes I still like to draw more through the secret passage. You play taunt - me sap and go face.  Did I mention I go face?

Shaman - do people play shaman?

Druid - I think we all know what the gimicky druid deck is/was (maybe dead now?).  The next one will be just as gimicky though with mountseller.  Oh - it also draw's it's whole deck by turn 10 with extra bonus dragons thrown in for good measure.

Warlock - I haven't really seen a warlock on the ladder since the new expac.  Prior to this it was mostly quest OTK which removed all minions, drew it's whole deck and OTK'd -  the height of interactivity.

QUIT...NOBODY REALLY GAF what you think anyway..BYE. As they say in the real world as opposed to the safe space basement at grandmas house .DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE A$$ ON YOUR WAY OUT....

What kind of a childish comment is this? You should get a ban imho. I think the OP has some valid points, if you don't agree you don't agree, just say it like a normal person would, you are the type of nerd I slapped silly at school.

    Quote from Horrorwolf >>

OP is 100% correct, but Blizzard is a very very greedy company that is really behind a casino gambling system called Hearthstone that is merely disguised as a strategy card game. This game has been ridiculed for years now and it's now coming to a head.

So why is Hearthstone such a joke to the community? There are very basic card game rules that should not be broken for any game of this type to be taken seriously.

    1. Exposing one player's hand to his opponent should never occur in any true strategy card game. It just makes Hearthstone more of a joke than it is.

    2. Deck trackers should not exist. If players to so stupid that they can not figure out what has been played they should be playing something else.

    3. There is already enough RNG in the game on its own - in fact well beyond reasonable standards. The current implementation of discover, add a card, copy hero powers etc just make it all the more and more ******** by the day.

Its very easy to see why this is the case when they break the very rules they supposedly implemented to make it a real game in the first place.

    • Only 2 cards of any type can be placed in a deck? (Broken by HS)
    • Only 1 copy of a legendary allowed a deck? (Broken by HS)
    • 30 health max cap for both players (Broken by HS)
    • Fatigue system to keep the game to a reasonable length (Broken by HS)
    • Cards should not discover copies of itself? (Broken over and over by HS)
    • Mana system enforced by a turn based progression? (Broken by HS over and over again)

If they didn't want to make this game a joke they would allow discover mechanics that are strictly tied to both the cost, rarity and class of the deck. And no multiples would be allowed? Why because this is all common sense game breaking stuff. But they would rather break their own "game" fundamentals by allowing players to summon 7,8,9,10 mana legendarys for 2 mana cost. Durrr, durr...OOh isn't that exciting and fun guys? come and pay for these cards this expansion only for us to nerf them days before the following expansion!

So yes exposing the opponent's hand is just one of many bad concepts rife in Hearthstone today. That's why the competitive community and streamers have been dropping support for this steaming pile of dogsh*t posing as a strategy game for years now.

     I absolutely agree! Especially:

    1. Exposing one player's hand to his opponent should never occur in any true strategy card game. It just makes Hearthstone more of a joke than it is.

But I have read some comments from certain people, they say it is intended. As much that is true, my opinion is that it is wrongly intended by Blizzard, I agree with the main topic writer, no one should look at the other players hand. It is a card game.

So whoever chooses second gets a massive advantage over the opponent?
    How is that fair?

I assume both players get presented with the other's class and get to choose their deck with that information. It would be level playing field in that regard.

I'd still dislike the idea though.

MOst classes only have 1 truly good ladder deck at a time, so it would become far easier to counter pick based on class. That would give quite an extensive benefit to players with bigger collections and more decks they can build and keep ready.

So, I wouldn;t like it, unless it was a specific separate game mode, where people could opt to play this way.

No I think it wouldn't, MMR is always running in the background. This means you will get a more skill based battle instead of what is now, with 4 mana it can be game over because of wrong deck. Surely a 4 mana game isn't what we want.
