Not sure why you have posted any other deck than warlock quest it will either kill you by turn 5 through damage or turn 6 with quest.

no other deck in hs history has been as strong and the stats will prove it as time goes on even face hunter can't compete with its speed.

The entire expansion is a write off and if the hs team has any sense they will remove it and do a complete redesign or the game will hemorrhage players faster than a mesh water bucket

posted a message on Why are people complaining still?

So tell me why shouldn't i complain about a deck that can ignore everything i do to counter it and win unless i play face hunter or shadow priest.  Right now the meta is aggro and extreme aggro with quest mage being a burn deck in the aggro slot when your game has one play style and only 2 viable variations on that play style your game is broken

There is no viable control deck and there never will be until the quests rotate in 2023 the only balanced quests are priest because you can always counter it with mutunus or voljin, rogue and druid because they aren't game breaking

posted a message on Im done...for now

I have been a hearthstone player since before Naxx been through the rough spots undertaker hunter, pirate warrior, 4 mana 7/7 shaman, secret paladin, the odd even years which were more boring than aggravating  and I have kept playing through it all but the absurdity of this expansion and how bad it is across the board is kind of an insult to gaming in general.

I'm not putting this post up for anything other than the slim margin that people at blizzard monitor the forums or it might encourage others to do the same.

So lets do this spaghetti western style good, bad and ugly and hoo boy this game is one unattractive sucker right now.

    The good

This game is incredibly good looking and the mechanics of actually playing the game are second to none, they have made it super easy to grasp the user interface of both pc and mobile.

The game itself before naxx is actually still very very good if a little too vanilla but incredible  balance with the rock, paper stone system of control beats midrange, aggro beats control and midrange beats aggro keeping the meta in a decent state with tech options actually doing what tech options are supposed to and allow surprise upsets and niche victories and of course you win with only the cards in your deck.... what a novel concept.

The final good thing even to this day is the flavour and humor of hearthstone   the flavour texts, the art style the little voice interactions are all great and should be commended.

    The bad

The game seems to repeat the same cycle over and over since naxx the developers release the expansion and immediately the players find the most op deck within days and then spam it until its either fixed internally or a deck emerges that is literally designed to do one thing and that's beat the op deck and only that deck

Some will say this is how its supposed to play out that the meta resolves itself but when every single expansion has THE DECK followed by THE COUNTER DECK which then leads the meta into a jumbled mess because the deck and counter hold each other out of the meta and then it becomes a jumbled for about 2 weeks until it settles and that's the meta until the next expansion proves that the play testing team are either chronically incompetent or being overruled by creative/marketing.

The designers are incapable of making tech cards that worked outside of the core set lets take the current meta as an example quest minions should be countered by mutanus or voljin but because the majority of quests can be timed to complete and be played same turn  it renders them useless against competent  questline players

The play testers have allowed the quests to reach the player base in a state where both mage and warlock can be completed by turn 6 and I mean genuinely complete i.e the 5 mana reward minion gets played 9n turn 6.

Yes this is the nuts example but the fact that a game winning scenario can be completed by turn 6 without putting their own ability to win at risk is wrong, face aggro should be a thing that can win by turn 6 but only against greedy control decks and should be easily beaten by changing decks to something with early dmg control.

Which brings us to face hunter as an example of bad, lets give the most aggressive class minions and burn spells that hit face while controlling the board so it beats aggro, midrange and control decks.

More design and play tester incompetence.

    The ugly

They don't learn from their mistakes what are we on  ow like our 15th expansion? And they keep making the same mistakes over and over and worse than that they make bigger versions of those mistakes

Mistakes are apart of learning but if any of us in our careers never improved on past performance but kept making the same cycle of mistakes on every project we would have been fired long ago.

I'm not asking for them to be fired but highlighting the need for reflection  by both the design and playtesting team on their processes and benchmarks because it is very bad right now and even with nerfs I can't see it becoming much better and without deleting the entire expansion or redesigning a significant amount of problem cards in both this and previous expansions the game won't get better.

So until spring 2023 or a huge redesign of standard I'm out and if you are not enjoying winning, losing or deck design I suggest you do the same otherwise they won't change.

If you are enjoying the game keep playing but im letting you know its going to break you at some point.

I loved hearthstone but now it makes me angry even when I win that takes an insane level of silliness to achieve.
