Got to say the Overkill interaction really annoys me. It seems totally inconsistent with the way the mechanic is supposed to work and just seems like a quirk of the coding. I know it works that way with Mass Hysteria but that's such a niche and normally uncontrollable scenario.

It leads to some cool combos but... yeah, bugs me (pun intentional).

If there are "sexist" female characters in Blizz games, there are "sexist" male characters as well

Well that claim would put the burden of proof on you. I have never been turned on by any male character in Hearthstone so please do tell me which ones of them are being objectified in the game.

It seems you didn`t understand my argument. I say there is no sexist characters in HS. But if someone claims there are sexist female characters, I want an explanation why these characters should be sexist and why the criteria which make these characters sexist don`t aplly to male characters as well.

It's not that representations of the female body are inherently sexist. No one is claiming that, and shame on you for putting words in my mouth.

My claim was that when a game contains sexualized representations of ONLY women and NOT men, the game overall is sexist. Where is the Incubus card? Where is the male "Secretholder" wearing very tight clothing with his ass turned provocatively toward the viewer?

I feel as if people look at these things from a very heteronormative male lens...

Y'all can't have heard many women swoon over men before if you think that there aren't sexualized depictions of men in this game and in Warcraft.

This overly protective father syndrome that a lot of men have nowadays is extremely frustrating and condescending as a woman and I am so god damned tired of it.

Clearly there is plenty of art in HS that shows men with ripped physiques but personally I don't think it's sexualised in the way that the Secretkeeper or Mistress of Pain art is, to use the cases in point. Reno Jackson isn't coyly showing his tight ass to the viewer and Kadgar isn't wearing a pair of budgie-smugglers. I am of the opinion with ManThighs above that this kind of art is just fanservice and adds nothing.

I mean, it's not like I find these cards offensive or anything. I don't care that they've been replaced but I also didn't care that they existed. I also don't think the game, or fantasy art in general, is sexist it's just these sort of images are a trope of fantasy art that personally I find a bit adolescent and unnecessary.

I think you are projecting a bit by talking about 'overly-protective father syndrome', nobody is asking you to avert your eyes, telling you how to dress or worrying about your innocence being stolen away by this innocuous card art. People just have different opinions on it which they're expressing.

On the scale of things that bother me the replacement of some titillating fantasy art is pretty low down tbh.

posted a message on HS vs MTGA, and why?

Just had to uninstall MTG. As I said, I mainly play Arena in Hearthstone and Draft in MTG. I liked the game but the draw RNG just made me angry on a level I have never experienced when playing Hearthstone and Draft is so much more expensive to enter than Arena in HS (especially because I have loads of gold in HS). Couldn't be bothered both spending money and getting angry over it so thought it was best if I just cut my losses!

posted a message on HS vs MTGA, and why?

I've been getting into MTG Arena the last few weeks. I used to play Magic for a few years when I was a kid but haven't touched it for over a decade. Being an Arena player in HS I really enjoy Draft format in MTG but it seems a shame that the card set is limited to the most recent expansion (although the fact you get to keep them all is obviously awesome). MTG Arena seems really polished now and I'm really enjoying it as a bit of a break from HS. Still v happy to play both of them though.

I have to say though, getting mana-screwed (or flooded) in MTG feels way worse than any kind of draw RNG that I've experienced in HS. I mean you literally can't do anything sometimes for an entire game, until you concede, and that rarely happens in Hearthstone even if sometimes you have a starting position you're very unlikely to recover from.  I get that the mana system is fundamental to how MTG plays and the automatic scaling system in HS wouldn't work but it feels terrible sometimes.

It says 17:00 GMT which means Greenwich mean time which is the time in the UK. So it's 17:00 GMT and therefore 18:00 in europe

Some worrying general knowledge fails on this thread.

First off, it wasn't past 1700 when you posted this. Second, depends on where you are. If you're UK then it's going to be releasing 1800 because 1700 is the GMT release time and, due British Summer Time, we're currently GMT +1.

It's a 1/1 for 1 with card generation so yeah, will definitely see play in some form. The fact that it's a beast and the token generation is pretty decent makes it even better.

Lol if you discover oblivitron with this. Can it play itself from Hand?

It  would be Trolden video-worthy since oblivitron needs to die first to be able to discover it and then somehow be in your hand as well.
You're not a rogue and Zola is out. Seems unlikely

From the wording of the card and animation in the video this should work without having Oblivitron in-hand. Depends whether the deathrattle from Nine Lives triggers before the discovered card is added to your hand or not, but the wording implies it triggers after being added to your hand. In which case you don't need to have Oblivitron before playing Nine Lives, you just need it to have died at some point during the game.
