I just want to apologize to my opponent in arena. I'm playing priest. He had 11 HP left, I had 25 and I had a cairne on board. His hand was decently full and he had a couple minions on board, while my hand was empty. All I have is a cairne on board because his madder bomber got lucky and pinged my other 1 hp minion. I topdeck a death and destroy his bomber, saving my cairne. Nothing on his side of the board can trade favorably into cairne. I hit his face thinking that this is going to be a race to the death. Now he's at 7 hp. Next turn starts and I topdeck a thoughtsteal.
Looks good to me. How has it been doing? I really want to try a N'zoth hunter as well, never played it before. Except I'd be playing it in standard where it's probably pretty bad.
If the card was in warrior, it everyone would say "It is a strong card, but that isn't the problem. Other classes need similar strong cards"
When it's hunter. "Huntards, brainless, auto wins, broken should cost 20!!!"
Yeah no bias at all.
Maybe you should put your own biases aside and realize this isn't a class thing. It's about the card itself. If warriors had this there would most definitely be complaining, because it's a broken card in a vacuum. It would actually probably be nerfed to the ground if warriors had it.
I was really enjoying batstone. It was fun to watch and unique. The bans shook things up. The casting was superb.
Now I'm back to watching normal HS streams and it's yogg every game. Even fucking control warriors are running yogg. Hearthstone is just a fucking mess right now.
Nowhere near being OP and it's not even an auto-include in all decks, only the decks that need the draw and spell damage. A 4/4 body for 5 mana is garbage.
CotW is a problem card, the fact that this thread made it to 31 pages is a testament to that. Go look at the comments on the card's page as well. This card is not fine. It's not even just slightly too good. It's straight up busted. And it has nothing to do with hunters, if this was a class card for any other class, even priest, it would still be bitched about, guaranteed.
So someone should explain to me why hearthstone is a good game when this situation happens about 60% of the time
So how do you beat hunter when they go turn 6 highmane in turn 8 Call of the Wild, Turn 9 Call of Wild >.> and in his top 12 Cards no less.
Simply put, you don't beat that. Mind you, you're playing CW which is probably the weakest deck in the game against hunters, but still. Not many classes can deal with that. The only one I can think of is mages with flamestrike. And even then, no mage deck runs double of flamestrike so they pretty much lose the moment the hunter drops his second CotW.
Yeah it seems that it doesn't matter too much if my minions are big or small. If the hunter is in a bad spot, like getting low on HP, he'll probably be forced to clear. But if he's ahead he usually just ignores whatever minions. I get that hunters have to go face because that's exactly how they win. Their hero power forces them into a highly aggressive approach. I just think it's annoying to go up against, but I understand why they do it. If I played hunter I know I'd always go face.
And some scenario's you've mentioned indeed do make sense. But from my experience hunters really never, ever trade huffer (or any minions for that matter) into anything unless they absolutely have to, like against a taunt or something.
And as for decks, I rarely play control anymore because it's godawful in this meta. Doesn't matter which deck I play, all hunters seem to do the same thing. But yeah, I can beat hunters if I draw well and they draw poorly. Just think their playstyle is annoying.
Dude, I just played a game where yet again a hunter barely traded at all. He played back to back highmanes and just straight up SMOrced me. Had it gone a couple turns later there would have been CotW overkill for sure. You can't honestly say with a straight face that hunters trade. He even attacked my face with his weapon while I had minions on board. There is no board interaction with hunters. They don't trade. They force YOU to trade while they just keep on dropping minions on curve.

It gives me a windfury.

Sounds really fun but also very inconsistent imo

No, Ysera is awful for this. Hunters can not do control decks well. You could go for a N'zoth hunter though, lots of sticky minions are in your deck.

When I play hunter I always have at least one call of the wild by turn 8. Often times I have both in my hand right from the get-go.
When I vs other hunters, it's the same deal. Always CotW on t8.
As hunters we have abysmal card draw so I'm genuinely confused as to why this seems to be the case.

I don't mind if a big minion of mine gets entombed. Usually a priest wastes his entire turn just doing that anyway since it's 6 mana.

Not sure why my other comment was deleted, just explaining something to the guy who was misunderstanding me. Didn't use profane language or anything.
That is bizarre. Well at least I cleared something up for him.
Edit: Oh I think it was his comment that was deleted, and so my quotation of it was as well.

That's good, I wish most hunters were like that. It'd make playing against the class a little more bearable.
