I have even tried elementals and Cthun - control kazakus with elementals, plain control warlock with elementals, kazakus and c;thun , just kazakus and everything in between. Past rank 5 none of these decks work at all.

Losing Reno, imp gang boss, PO, Thaurissan, dark peddler, demonwrath, refreshment vendor is just too much of a hit for warlock and they got nothing in return this expansion.

1.) No healing for control type. 2) no good early game play (peddler, IGB)  3.) earliest removal is at turn 4 ( hellfire which damages yourself) 4) power overwhelming got hall of famed and I dont understand why - like ice block and fiery win axe isnt in every single deck? Zoo cant trade their small minions anymore - abusive got nerfed, knife juggler nerfed, PO hall of famed. 5) Thaurissan gave tempo swings by cost reducing a big hand, and made jaraxxus playable - without the cost reduction to 8, in this meta you play jaraxxus you pretty much die most of the time. 6.) Team 5 have said many times that they don't want to give warlock good class cards because of the hero power - but I feel they've gone too far with that logic. In the last 4 sets theyve given warlock only one top tier card - abyssal enforcer.

I'm sad for warlock but with 3 expansions happening every year I'm pretty sure one of these is gonna be warlock or demon themed like how ungoro was for beasts - I cant wait for that one!

Honestly I've been trying every type of possible warlock deck - different variants of control bloodlock, bloodzoo, kazakus bloodlock, kazakuslock, kazakuszoolock, deathwing quest, zoo quest, all with different techs from eater of secrets gollaka etc..literally every possible variant of warlock possible, and what I've finally come to terms with is that there is no way warlock is competitive anymore - past rank 5 anyway. Definitely still fun and I will continue to play my favourite class but warlock has lost too much and not gained anything to make it viable.

posted a message on How to make Warlock great again?

I play mainly control warlock 90% of the time and I can't believe how they've continued to crap all over warlock through every expansion. Warlock is only decent because of neutral cards wtf? Hero power is OP? Every top deck is drawing much faster, healing better, synergizing better and here we have Warlock being forced into discard RNG crapfest with no healing. Ben Brode's favouriteclass is Warrior and it shows how somehow warrior seems to stay top tier expansion after expansion.

Why not give Warlock good class cards? The hero power is a damn liability at this point! Flavorwise, Guldan and the horde of demons are the villains in the lore - they are supposed to be powerful! They are supposed to have a horde of powerful demons in a demondeck. Not some half assed neutral card based deck RNG crapfiesta.

Sorry just needed to rant there :p. Guess ill be just playing till 5 with PW for the rewards and sticking to arena till the next expansion and hope team 5 gives warlock some love.

I think the first thing to do is to dust all your non standard cards. You are way too late to be able to play in wild anyway and this way you can save dust till ungoro comes out or get a few key cards. I think you have enough cards for decent warlock zoo deck - I think that would be the way to go.

posted a message on Socialism and Hearthstone

Really Prof.? And you do? My larger point for this thread is that the idea that aspiring to a 50% global winrate is what makes a good game is inherently socialistic and while on the surface seems great but takes away what made the game fun in the first place. How this works in Hearthstone is through the hidden MMR system. If you have above 50% you lined up with someone with higher MMR and below 50% with lower MMR. People with the higher MMR these days are most likely going to be shaman or pirate warrior so basically if you win over 50% you get automatically lined up against more of those decks. That is not how it works in real life, things are more random than that. See I'm not saying that I should necessarily be winning more, I have had a lot of fun in games that I have lost. But it isn't fun when you know you're losing because that is how the match making was designed to be. It's just not fun! If you want to know more about this go to the overwatch forums and see how bad the forced 50% is perceived over there.

You do understand how averages work right? While you may be one of the few on either side of the curve, a vast majority regardless of skill sit in middle of that curve and it is for them that the game gets frustrating and boring. If you play your deck long enough the law of averages will catch up to you. Your anecdotal experience means nothing in the bigger picture.

posted a message on Socialism and Hearthstone

Hello everyone, this is my first ever thread on hearthpwn and it has to do with how the balance philosophy of team 5 when it comes to standard ranked play. I play to reach atleast rank 5 every season to reap the chest rewards, but for the 1st time ever since I started playing Hearthstone in 2014 I have lost all interest in playing the game anymore, and by looking at the forums on here I'm not the only one. But most threads that I have seen haven't been able to pinpoint the exact reason why this is happening. The usual reasons the people attribute that to is the continuing Shaman dominance or the boring jade mechanics or overpowered pirates. We have had boring mechanics and overpowered cards before but and although the game could at times get frustrating it has never gotten to be extremely boring - well atleast for me.

The real reason why I feel Hearthstone has suddenly become so tedious is Team 5's insistence that a global win rate of 50% is something good to work towards achieving. While this helps bringing in new players it has left the rest of us to a very stale meta. This is inherently how socialism works - take the winrate from players who have invested time, money and effort into creating new decks and playstyles and reward players who don't. Patron Warrior at it's prime had very good winrates if the player practised and piloted the deck to a high degree. Team 5's socialistic idea of indirectly forcing a global win rate means that no matter how good I play or how well I read the meta or how creative I am with my deckbuilding, all of it is will not help me win significantly more than someone who goes online and just copies the top decks from Tempostorm. A free meta is always evolving and shifting and never remains stagnant with same decks being played over and over again. I hope Team 5 rethink their philosophy when it comes to balance realize why people fell in love with game in the first place. Until then I'll keeping check up on Hearthstone once in a long while and play Shadowverse till this issue is somehow addressed.

posted a message on New Warrior Card - Blood Warriors

What are all your guys babbling on about? This card is okay at best. Meta crushing? What? It's way too slow against most decks. Grim patron?? Why would you want to fill your hand with 5 mana patrons with no activators left for them? This is not gonna define the meta at all.
