posted a message on Best counter for bomb warrior

Oddly enough, it’s Face Hunter. Vicious Syndicate does a weekly meta report where they talk about each class and decks and their position in the meta. Face Hunter historically doesn’t do well against Warrior, but this version of Face Hunter is able to SMOrc down Warrior. Their data backs this up.

If you like more control-style decks, then I would recommend going with Resurrect Priest. It’s a pretty powerful deck that fits the control archetype very well.

posted a message on Libram of Justice no full refund?

Blizzard doesn’t give you dust for buffed cards. Only for nerfed ones.

P.S. I realized after I made my post that I should explain Blizzard’s policy. Blizzard gives out card dust for nerfs because they figure that you went through the money, time, and/or dust to get those cards. And nerfing a card makes it, or it’s deck much less likely to see play. So the idea is to compensate people instead of taking their money, time, and dust and telling them to fuck off.

The reason this doesn’t apply to buffs is that the thought process behind a buff is that the card, or the deck the card is played in becomes more prevalent. And in that case, the buff would be the reward.

    I hope this helps.

posted a message on Becoming Legendary - Three Decks That Will Take You There

That’s just fundamentally not true. You can have a diverse meta without the best decks being control or combo decks. And I’m not saying control and combo decks shouldn’t be good. I’m saying they shouldn’t be so good that they push midrange and aggro decks out of the meta.

I completely agree with both of you. Control and combo decks can be fun, but them ruling the meta is unhealthy. That was the main issue with the Year of Raven. When decks like Toggwaggle Druid or Gallery Priest are top tier decks, there’s a problem with the meta. You shouldn’t consistently be able to win by drawing your deck, playing armor and/or boatloads of removal, and then win by dealing 40 damage or fatiguing your opponent by stealing their deck. Aggro gets a bad rap, but they’re necessary to keep greedy control and combo decks from running rampant.

I’m having the same issue as you. I just tweeted at the official hearthstone Twitter account with a picture of the “all tables are filled” loading screen. A couple other people had posted that they had an issue logging into the game as well.

posted a message on [MEGA-THREAD] - Card Nerf Discussion

Edit: The potential nerfs I discuss are only for standard.

Here’s my opinion on the cards that should be nerfed. The Rogue Quest should be nerfed (again), and either Nourish or Ultimate Infestation should be nerfed.

    Reasoning for nerfs:

Rogue Quest: the rogue Quest just annihilates Control decks. Its almost a sure lock to win against deck with a late game strategy. Even though it’s been nerfed twice already, the Quest is just limiting for game design and for deck playability.

Druid nerf: While Malygos Druid isn’t warping the meta around it the way people thought it would, Druid as a class is just way too strong right now. Token Druid, Toggwaggle Druid, Malygos Druid, Spiteful Druid, and Taunt Druid are all good decks. And outside of Spiteful Druid, all of these decks have the same base core of cards, with the win condition being the major difference. The core of Wild Growth, Nourish, and Ultimate Infestation are driving nearly the entire class. Other classes have seen nerfs for having cards that “must plays” in every deck (Call of the Wild being a notable example).

So my pick for nerfs for Druid would be nourish or Ultimate Infestation. Wild Growth itself is alright. It’s balanced by the fact that it gives you an empty mana crystal the turn you play it. Nourish though gives you 2 filled mana crystals, along with being a great draw engine when you don’t have Infestation.  And Ultimate Infestation is the payoff for all that ramp. It’s why you mindlessly ramp in the early game. It seals games all on its own.

Personally, I would pick Nourish for getting nerfed. While Infestation is the major payoff card and is obviously broken, it will eventually rotate out of standard.  Nourish is design limiting though. It prevents Blizzard from introducing better ramp in the future because that ramp has to compete with the evergreen Nourish. And it also limits design for draw cards for Druid.

posted a message on So... no counter to Shudderwock ? are you okay with this ?

There is a counter for Shudderwock right now, but I know a lot of people don’t like it. In order to counter Shudderwock, you have to play an aggro deck, go face, and hope they don’t draw cards like healing rain.

Do I think Shudderwock needs nerfed? Yes. The card is toxic. It just straight up bullies control decks, and it requires that you basically just play your deck to set him up (the deck is hard to play, but activating him just requires playing a few specific minions). But short of a nerf, an aggro deck like Odd Rogue is the best bet to beat Shudderwock Shaman.

posted a message on Decks for AFTER the cycle?

It’s hard to predict what decks will be good for Priest, Rogue and Hunter, since all the major archetypes for those decks are losing quite a bit of cards. If I had to make an educated guess though, I’d say the three best for those classes would be A) Face Hunter, B) Miracle Rogue and C) some variant of Spiteful Priest.

If you want to know what the best deck in the Witchwood meta is going to be, well it’s pretty easy to guess. It’s most likely going to be Cubelock. It’s losing Mistress of Mixtures and N’Zoth, which are pretty important. But it’s getting Lord Godfrey, which could easily be the best card in the Witchwood set.

    Hope my explanation helped.

posted a message on New Shaman Hero Card - Hagatha The Witch

Shaman spells aren’t why Runspear sucks. Runespear sucks because A) it’s an 8 mana 3/3 weapon, and B) it chooses targets at random for the spells it plays.

Hagatha is a good card. I’m not sure it’s meta-defining, but it is good. The board clear is good, and the hero power is great. Hagatha’s hero power is basically the equivalent of making all your minions better hydrologists.

If you don't have Mal'ganis, you're probably going to want to run the more Aggro version of Zoo.  If you still want to run the more midrange version, then I would probably sub in Ragnaros if you have him or a Sea Giant.

posted a message on New Paladin Card - Keeper of Uldaman

Quartermaster has the ability to buff multiple minions. Multiple 1/1 silver hand recruits become 3/3s not just one. Quartermaster is clearly much better for only 1 mana more. Quartermaster was actually one of the cards I was thinking about that is a better buff card.

posted a message on New Paladin Card - Keeper of Uldaman

In my opinion. Everyone is wrong about this card. It won't see play. If you use it to buff a minion, it's a win more card, and Paladin has better buff cards. If you're using it as soft removal then you are using it on cards like Dr. Boom. And the problem with that is equality/consecration or BGH are just plain better in those scenarios. It's Paladin's version of Mistcaller. Looks good on paper, but in practice it won't be good.

posted a message on New Warlock Card - Dreadsteed

Why is blizzard so intent on screwing over the Warlock class in this expansion?!?! Literally the only cards that may have any uses at all for Warlocks is Fist of Jaraxxus, and MAYBE Wrathguard. And even these two cards will see limited play at best.  Every other Warlock card is terrible.
