how would bukas effect go off? it's a minion and your deck needs no minions. dragon's roar seems cool. gives some card draw and it has to be played differently like defile. i have no useful opinions on beastly pact.
I suppose it would be more effective if it said "no OTHER minions". But I was just following the current Start of Game theme. Ideally though, being Start of Game it would register that Buka would be pulled straight from then deck, THEN it would search your deck for minions to activate his effect.
Also, ironically, Beastly Pact was the one I was most proud of haha. It felt the most flavourful.
Witching Hour - somewhat skilled RNG Toki - complete RNG Vex Crow - complete RNG Prince Liam - complete RNG Chameleos - half random Tess Greymane - complete RNG Face Collector - complete RNG Pick Pocket - complete RNG Blink Fox - complete RNG Shudderwock - very skilled RNG Hagatha's Hero Power - complete RNG Earthen Might - complete RNG Witch's Apprentice - complete RNG Blackhowl Gunspire - somewhat skilled RNG Deadly Arsenal - skilled RNG Azalina Soulthief - I'm gonna class this as complete RNG because it's kind of on a different level than Chameleos Witch's Cauldron - complete RNG Mad Hatter - complete RNG Ravencaller - complete RNG Tanglefur Mystic - complete RNG Swamp Dragon Egg - complete RNG
Honourable mentions also go to all the cards that draw specific cards/minions from your deck. They're classed under very skilled RNG
And then, as you said, the Discover mechanic is a different type altogether.
I'd say that's a fair amount of randomness for the expansion. Admittedly not as much as I thought there was, but still a lot. And yes, I understand that this list incorporates different styles of randomness, but still randomness nonetheless.
It's getting really annoying seeing so many streamers put so much hate on Rush and say it's "a terrible mechanic that just won't work." I can list so many things that are wrong with this perception by streamers and, dare I say, most other people holding their expectations low for this expansion.
You do realize that boards are going to be a lot more clear a lot more often, right? It amazes me how many people don't seem to grasp the idea that Rush means your opponent's minions will die nearly every time (if you know what you're doing). So things like Duskbreaker, Hellfire, and all those other board clears will start to see less play once people realize that Rush minions will become better than whole board clears due to the fact that most of the time you'll still have a minion or a few left after your turn is over.
I'm more than happy to accept the ridicule AFTER the expansion has dropped and Rush does crash and burn. But until that "IF" happens, I stand by Rush and its ability to change the meta.
P.S. All streamers who do card reviews are wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. So much close-mindedness from the people that a lot of the Hearthstone community watches. I'm looking at you Trump, and Kripp. You're both cancer. Please stop.
"However, if you would compare this to one of the earlier expansions, it's a more consistent and thought out set. There is considerably less randomness than in some of those expansions, and the design of the cards is just overall pretty good."
But... nearly every class has a Legendary that creates randomness. And a lot of the of the neutral minions also create randomness. I feel like this whole expansion was based on RNG.
Edit: I messed up the quote part. So I just used quotation marks.
After looking through a lot of the comments here, I've come to the conclusion that most people don't understand the concept of a "new deck". Instead, everybody insists on stating that "it won't fit into any of the current Priest decks". I mean, quit being mainstream. Try something different. Who knows, you could be the one to create the toppest tierest deck available in the future meta.
Manawraith into Face Collector. Shadowstep the Collector, throw it back down. Preparation into Cheap Shot, into another Cheap Shot. You've just spent 10 mana gaining two random legendaries, dealing 4 damage split between one or two minions, and leaving yourself with a 2/2 and a big 7/9 minion on the board.
And that's JUST with these cards... plus Shadowstep. So yeah, they're not bad at all. Better luck next time.

This expansion doesn't like you.

The Glass Knight is pretty bad, but I suppose there's not much variety with that name. And Paragon of Light seems better suited to being legendary.

Ahh, good point. I never noticed that. They all look exactly the same if I'm honest.

Am I the only one who noticed that Bogshaper is in Nemsy Necrofizzle's portrait on the Heroes page?

Perhaps people feel cool to call it "Big Hunter" because it has ONE WHOLE BIG MINION in an entire deck of 30.
So annoying.

This comment better get the most likes on the entire thread, or I'll be very disappointed.

I'm liking how it says "card" instead of "minion". We can draw weapons too.
