posted a message on The Great Dalaran Heist Has Launched! Two Wings This Week, Is The Adventure Worth It?

I may be missing something but it sounds like all the different chapters have the same pool of encounters and differ only in these "twists" and the classes you may play with. I've played chapter 1 on normal and heroic now and while it was fun I don't feel like spending money or gold just to play the same with a different class and/or the "minion in a bubble" gimmick.

If they think it important to save money on such an event, their properties must be seriously underperforming financially.

posted a message on Rise of Shadows - The Name of the New Expansion Has Been Leaked by IGN

Aren't IGN the guys who complained Resident Evil 2 was too short because they didn't notice you could play Claire's part of the story? What a group of doofuses.

posted a message on Introducing Hearthstone Masters - Qualifiers, Tour, Grandmasters

I like the idea of being able to support participants financially but I have the same problem with Hearthstone's version as I do with Capcom's: they decide where the money goes and inevitably they'll bump up 1st place prize because that's the eyecatcher in the press.

I would instead like the ability to distribute my money among the tournament levels (1st, top 2, top 4, top 8,...) like I can distribute my money when buying a Humble Bundle. And personally, I would always put my money towards the lower ranks and never 1st or 2nd.

posted a message on Hearthstone Nerfs Coming February 5 - Equality, Cold Blood, Hunter's Mark & More

Except for the Spellstone the changes seem completely arbitrary and I fail to see how any of these changes improves the game. I've never perceived any of these cards as oppressive or frustrating, not even the Spellstone as such (Zul'jin filling the board with 7 wolves is a different story). It's obvious that Blizzard keeps looking at statistics and drawing conclusions from them. I'm sure if the win-rate for player 2 wasn't statistically lower, they'd nerf The Coin to 1 mana, because it's contained in a whopping 50% of all decks played on ladder!

I had expected the presentation to go downhill without Ben Brode, but Fake Ben managed to disappoint even my low expectations.

posted a message on Getting to Know Hearthstone’s Alternate Heroes: Lunara

It's not that Team 5 hates Tauren, they hate the "ugly races". For the longest time the only ork heroes were personalities so deeply entrenched in the lore that you couldn't omit them. And of course ugliness was only allowed for males. All of the female heroes had to be traditionally beautiful. Only recently does this seem to have changed, possibly when the old lead was replaced with Ben Brode. That's when we got Nemsy and now Hagatha. Let's see how the future shapes up with Ben Brode gone.
