I think your analogy is a bit off. In order to end games that quickly, a well built aggro deck only needs to curve out, not necessarily draw an exact, specific series of cards. One of those things is much easier than the other. It's simply a matter of constructing your deck correctly (pretty much exactly as 1HuntAlone described above). Basically, a well tuned aggro deck will have multiple tools that are more or less interchangeable, allowing them to finish games quickly consistently. Yes, drawing the right cards early can speed up the process, but even with just average draws, they are looking to win well before turn 10. It's combo decks which tend to require specific pieces in order to close the game, and those decks (not surprisingly) tend to take much longer to finish things out on average.
And speaking of one thing being much easier than the other... the difference between a straight and a royal flush is astronomical. The odds of drawing a straight on the initial deal in a 5 card poker hand is roughly 250:1. A royal flush is just shy of 650,000:1. You referred to them in a way that made them seem almost interchangeable. I'm not implying that you are not aware of the difference, rather I just wanted to point it out for those who may not be all that familiar with poker. That's a mistake you don't want to make at the table.
As others have said, whether or not to look at the reveals is totally up to you.
That being said, I completely get why some people would like to go in blind. I personally enjoy spoiler season in Hearthstone, but I have enjoyed doing blind opens of physical packs in MtG in the past. In those cases it was entirely about savoring the enjoyment of opening the packs and extending the experience by taking the time to read through and evaluate each card. For anyone who might not be aware, paper MtG is much, much more expensive than Hearthstone (especially if you choose to buy packs).
Thanks for posting this. I've been theorycrafting my own take since Dire Frenzy was revealed, but there are some really solid ideas in here.
Full Disclosure: I pulled a golden The Marsh Queen on day one and just couldn't bring myself to disenchant it. I have a thing for gold cards that give you other gold cards/minions, and come on... The Marsh Queen gives you 16! I played around with it a bit before, but at the very least it's getting some solid tools now. Will it be enough? I don't know... but I want it to work SO FREAKING BAD!
Flavor-wise this card is an absolute grand slam. Curse a minion (or steal a bit of its soul) with the voodoo doll, then destroy the doll to destroy the minion. It just doesn't get much better than that. Even my wife, who gives zero shits about card design, immediately commented on how cool this card is when I showed it to her. Normally she just shrugs and says "neat" to try to be polite.
That's kind of like saying you don't need to net deck
Not in the least. I have hit legend multiple times, and can do so again anytime I feel like putting the time in. I have never used a deck tracker, and will never use a deck tracker. They are a crutch. If you have to have one to play, you are a weaker player than you think. Learn how to play the game on your own.
I'm almost never this direct and judgmental, but deck trackers are the worst. You can lie to yourself all you want, but you are essentially cheating by using them. You are using a program to do a large part of the work that you are supposed to be doing yourself. There is a reason that you can't use them in tournaments (that matter). Honestly, one of the primary reasons that people believe that Hearthstone doesn't require any skill is that so many people use deck trackers. With a deck tracker, there is much less skill involved.
All that being said, you're pretty unlikely to find an actual tablet that will run an overlay. You're going to need something more like a touch screen PC masquerading as a tablet. (Apparently, according to other posters, this is incorrect. I'll happily admit I know nothing about tablets and was going off personal experience) Or, just buy a Fire and learn to play the game. Sorry to be harsh, but deck trackers annoy me to no end. Also, if you continue using one, don't bother whining when you start finding the game robotic and mindless. What else do you expect when an app is doing the heavy lifting for you?
Wait, when was there a brawl that rewarded a WW pack? How the hell did I miss that? The last one was the StarCraft one, which awarded 3 Kobolds packs, right? Before that was the stupid crossroads one, and before that was the Wild Arena-type deal, correct? I'm pretty sure I've done them all recently... but I guess I missed one somewhere along the line. Damn it.
What makes you assume that it's a murloc? It certainly doesn't look like one. Is there some bit of lore or something that I'm unaware of (I know very little WoW lore)?
From what I've heard and read from streamers, as well as others who play a lot of arena, overall average deck quality has improved dramatically. It's apparently not just the increased number of legendaries, but also the fact that bottom tier cards are being offered at much lower rates.
Oh thanks! Is it 100% safe? even in Ios or computer?
I've been purchasing packs this way since Hearthstone launched and have never had a problem. I mean, nothing is 100%, but Amazon is about as secure as you are likely to find.
Next, download Hearthstone from the Amazon appstore, then delete your current version and reinstall. Doing this allows you to order through Amazon from inside the game client.
Next, purchase the coins from Amazon (you can do this from your browser or through the appstore on mobile).
Once the coins have been added to your account (usually only takes a couple minutes), just use the "Store" button in the Hearthstone client like you normally would. It will prompt you to choose whether or not you would like to use your coins to pay. This part throws many people off because it does not ask until the last possible moment during checkout. After that, you will need to enter your Amazon password, then you're good to go.
weak to silences, transforms, counterspell, managing, maybe even thoughtsteal, as well as dirty rat at the very end.
Because if you silence the initial card before the deathrattle is triggered, you end up with a 6 mana 3/6 that does nothing. You'll never see any of the seals. If polymorphed/hexed/etc. it's even worse.
Equality + Wild Pyro, Equality + Consecration (this one is dependent on the exact scenario, obviously), Frost Nova + Doomsayer...
The deck is strong and annoying, and should almost certainly be fixed. But it's nowhere near as broken as people are making it out to be... which is fairly normal for Hearthstone. There are answers available to you, though. Should you tech for it? Probably. Is that irritating? Of course. It's aggravating to have to tech for anything instead of just running the ideal version of your deck. But, in fairness, that is kind of the nature of card games. It'll get patched eventually. Until then, play smart and make the most of the situation.
When you got the pack -> play 10mins with instant surrender. Help people get out of this rng hell.
I would like to upvote this a thousand times and strongly encourage everyone else to do this. I get that some people dig this brawl, but for those of us who don't enjoy the "wacky" rng shenanigans, this brawl is tantamount to torture. Please be kind and spare a fellow player or two.
If you still honestly believe that quest rogue is overpowered and can only be beaten by aggro, maybe this isn't the game for you. Take a look at the meta above rank 5. Plenty of people have figured out how to handle the deck and they are most definitely not all playing aggro. Instead of whining you should probably work on your problem solving skills. How does the deck go about winning? How could you delay, interrupt, or thwart that plan? Stop complaining and start trying to figure out that problem. Plenty of others have done it. It's certainly more effective than throwing a tantrum over and over again.

Well done! This is new to me, glad I stumbled across it. Thanks.
