I've run up against some player that have had Rag figured out and there was nothing I could do but hope for a lucky hero power.  Once you figure out how to Rag I think its actually more successful than Nefarion.

Rag isn't hard to play, but he starts out with a nearly insurmountable disadvantage of being 5 crystals behind. In fact, now that I've been playing a while and am being forced to play with Rag more than Nef due to auto-concedes, I'm having quite a few games where Nef is taking me from 60 to 0 in 4 turns.

EDIT: The problem I'm seeing with this is that if it continues and/or gets worse, you'll have a situation where you either play at a disadvantage with Rag or you don't play at all.

People just don't know how to play Rag - they assume it can't be their fault, so they say it's unbalanced and rage concede.

     But it is unbalanced.

Anyone else getting a lot of concedes when their opponents get Rag?

I don't mind free wins, but this looks like a problem. (An understandable problem, I suppose, as I still have yet to lose a single game with Nef, but have lost plenty with Rag.)

posted a message on Nefarian vs Ragnaros is balanced

The imbalance doesn't come from Nef's hero power, it comes from him starting with 4 or 5 mana crystals or whatever it is... Rag is playing catchup even when he's first to act. This matchup is CLEARLY in favor of Nef, and I think any reasonable amount of stats will show this.

Of course, it's not impossible to win with Rag, but anyone saying this is balanced is just plain incorrect.

Edit: Going to give it a few more goes before I make claims.

Although, I'm already starting to see people insta-concede if they don't get Nef.

EDIT 2: Oof, yeah, whoever decided it was a good idea to start Nef with 4 crystals should not be anywhere near balancing for this game. Nef is the clearly ahead in this matchup, no matter how you slice it.

It depends mostly of what rank you are playing but mostly midrange/face/hybrid hunter, zoo, patron warrior(new archetype that surged from BRM) but in general I think that this meta has the most variety of decks ever.
As for the classes you were playing I think Handlock is still a solid deck, hunter is good like I said before, probably hybrid is the better one but I haven't played hunter since I got the golden portrait,as for shaman currently is the weakest class in the game probably mech shaman is the way to go.

I respectfully disagree about the variety of decks in play at the moment. In my experience, I run up against the same six decks for probably 95% of my play regardless if I'm playing in casual or ranked mode: Freeze Mage, Tempo Mage, Zoolock, Mid-range Hunter, Face Hunter, Patron Warrior.

Other classes/decks appear so infrequently that they aren't even really a blip on the radar.

I just submitted a ticket with Blizz. Hope they take action towards this.

I really just laughed it off, but when thinking about it, this could have happened to a child...

Weirdest thing about it is; I didn't even BM... He conceded before match was over.
And in Arena you HAVE to expect some serious hard counters to your deck as the build process is so random.

Anyways, thanks for your input :)
And may the topdecks be ever in your favor <3

Not to be "that guy," but Blizzard isn't going to do anything because you deliberately added him as a friend when you didn't have to. If they tell you anything, it'll be to be more mindful in who you decide to accept friend requests from.

The funny thing is, you're telling people Blizzard probably won't do anything  because "I accepted a friend request, BUT should have known I was doing so at the risk of being harassed"

Why should someone get away with verbal abuse, especially someone forcing another to be subjected to racial slurs and what not. All because they're the ones clearly upset about a loss.

ALSO, when you get a FRIEND Request, generally you want to believe they're asking to be FRIENDS.  Why should I be abused because I was tricked into believing they wanted to be my friend AND not an enemy. There's also a TOS/Terms of Condition we all agree too when creating an battle.net/Hearthstone account, agreeing to RULES & regulations.  I'm almost 100% certain it's against the rules and ToS too abuse someone in-game. Justifying this abuse almost certainly assures me you're "That Guy" who gets easily angered & attempts to get retribution via in-game verbal harassment.

You need to calm the hell down. No where did I say I think that people deserve to be verbally abused because they are foolish enough to accept friend requests after stomping someone. I was sharing my experience with a similar situation, and nothing more, if you don't like how Blizzard handled my experience, or how they handled this one, take it up with them.

Worst day of RGN ever. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong, went wrong in every single game.

lol nah man HS is alllllll skill you just lost your skill in the middle of the night

This. Didn't you know, there is no luck in Hearthstone? You just got worse and your opponents got better. L2adapt.

Face Hunters run the same exact cards every time there isn't a more predictable deck in the game.

20 win losing streaks being common is probably not "the deck"

At any rate maybe now would be a good time to actually learn the game and play a deck that interacts with other decks minions (not only when they have taunt.)

Face hunter isn't supposed to be strong it's just supposed to keep greedy control decks in check, which it's doing just fine.

Yes, I know, I suck and am bad at the game. I'm glad we got this out of the way early in the thread so we can focus on the discussion at hand.

The possibility of adding a small text to your friend request could be abused easily, I guess...
"Hi, I just wan't to ask you a few questions about your deck. I found it interesting, herp derp"
    FRIEND REQUEST ACCEPTED
    "Insert random nerd-rage flaming"

Any system can be abused. But having something is better than having nothing, imo.

    @LambMine

I have made several HS friends this way, and certainly did not expect this verbal vomit.

Have you experienced Blizzard not taking action towards verbal abuse of this caliber?

It promotes an extremely hostile player environment, which I assume they are _not_ aiming for.

Yeah, I've had similar instances in WoW, and Blizzard GMs told me to ignore the player or get over it. Sucks, but if there is a way for the player to avoid the confrontation/abuse, they really don't do anything but tell you to use it.

So, basically they are telling us to not make friends in their games?
Their games are social by nature.... O.o

This is something you should take up with Blizzard, it's their policy, not mine. But, let me as you this: were you honestly shocked when a player whom you just smashed immediately added you as a friend and started the verbal onslaught? I mean, if you accept friend requests in hearthstone so freely, or ever visit any Hearthstone fansites/communities, then I find it hard to believe that this your first hearing of verbal abuse through friend requests.

No, I wasn't shocked. It has happened before, in this game and others.
I was however shocked at the express desire to murder my family nazi style...

But I really just started this thread as a comic relief, to put nerd-rage on display and maybe have others share their experience.
The _reaction_ was then that I should report the player. And i concluded that I agree - this behavior does not belong in any game.

Well, as you said, you had an inkling that he was going to try and rip into you when you friended him, which is why Blizzard will likely not do anything to this player and simply tell you to be more mindful of your friend requests. If it was an open chat, like in WoW or whatever, yeah, I could see them giving him a ban, but not in this case. Sorry, just my experience with Blizzard and verbally abusive players.

I wish they would add a text area to send a short message with friend requests to make them a little easier to filter.

My success rate against Face Hunters varies wildly with the deck that I'm playing.  My Chicanery Priest deck wins more often than not and my Mech Druid deck has plenty of Taunt and wins almost all the time.  Then I have some decks that are routinely sliced and diced by them, and some decks that really need a good early draw to prevail.

But wow, I'm surprised by the length of the losing streaks that you describe.  I thought BRM really helped Face Hunters.  The "if your hand is empty" mechanic really seemed OP.  Is it possible that BRM helped other classes even more?

I'm not using any BRM cards in my hunter deck as I haven't got the wings yet. Would be interesting to see if hunters who do have BRM have experienced a decline at all.

posted a message on Meta pushing face hunter out?

Seems like winning games with face hunter has become much more difficult in ranked since the release of BRM. While short losing streaks were pretty common with the decks due to running up against hard counters and people teching against face hunters, it seems like 10-20 game losing streaks are becoming very common. Is anyone else experiencing a decline in winrate with their face hunter deck since BRM?
