As always, if you think a deck is OP, you need to try using it before you complain about it.

This is such a great point. Every time I find myself despising a deck, I play 10 or so games with it to get a better sense of how it plays, what beats it, what it struggles with or dominates. Then I switch back to something else that isn't gross.

It's so much more efficient than switching around decks and trying to beat it with every other class.

posted a message on New Cards, Old and Tired Decks. Rinse and Repeat. I give up. The players playing this game are mindless robots not humans.

I mean, they're all at low ranks because they're playing bad decks.

I do often wonder, though, why people netdeck just so they can win some games. And it's not just a problem in Hearthstone or CCGs!

Look at the NFL, for example. So many teams are just full of mindless robots, using big offensive linemen, fast wide receivers, and the best quarterbacks they can find. Why don't they try mixing it up a little bit, instead of just copying what every other team does?

Basketball too! When was the last time you saw a center under 6' tall? Or a team go a whole game without running a pick and roll?

Heck, even in a pickup game of kickball the other day, the other team had their defense lined up like other "traditional" teams do! Sure we lost by ten runs, but at least we diversified some and played our entire defense backwards, in the infield. No mindless robots here!

posted a message on It's TOTALLY FINE to netdeck in competitive environments.

I'm not entirely sure why there are so many snarky, dismissive comments here, since there really do seem to be a ton of people on the site who claim that netdecking is wrong or unfair. As a result, this is something I've thought about a lot too, and I appreciate your thoughts.

In running with the team sports analogy, complaining about netdecking as cheap or unfair feels akin to saying that an NFL team shouldn't watch tape and adjust their scheme even though the best teams run entirely different systems than they do. Seems odd to expect people to handicap themselves that way.

(Context, for whatever it's worth, is that I tend to play netdecks that I find fun until I hit rank 5, then I use homebrew decks just for kicks.)

The question is why do you like playing the game ?   They make the meta for us, they make the decks for us, you put 1 card in your deck you need to follow it up with another card then another card cus they all fit togheter, and you can see it amile away what cards it is.

And then your stuck with zero creativity zero skils, its just this deck beats this deck. Dont really matter how you play the deck.

     You say this a lot.

Is this a joke, lol? Turn limit too small? With the current limit, one game lasts almost an hour...

Maybe you should consider not playing borewarrior, if turn limit has become an issue for you.

I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't dare say it. If I said it, I'd be reported for trolling. You must have bribed a moderator. LOL. But seriously, you're right on. It's a game with anonymous people. If I am willing to give an hour of my time to some unknown person on a game, I must be super leisurely and have nothing to do. I should spend my time looking for a job or maybe try my hand at learning a trade or apply myself more at my university studies. Or just do something productive for the benefit of society.

I also want to take this opportunity to make a public service announcement: If you have this much time to play a card game on your computer, let's say an hour or more, you are a socially unaware person who should be doing more for your community, maybe volunteering to help the homeless or finding ways to donate your time to good causes and working for the greater good. I mean, where is your threat complaining about how unfair world poverty or unfair wages can be? Nope. You took your extra time to have a Control Warrior match go into super mega awesome beyond the imagination of overtime and you even had more extra time to whine about it on here.

There’s no possible way you’re serious, right? Legitimately curious here.

Ah, I knew that didn’t seem right. I was too busy struggling to do rudimentary math to actually read the card accurately.  So it goes.

Doesn’t this mean you can get 18 to the face using it on Leeroy? Or am I reading this wrong?

Come to think of it, isn’t Leeroy, Khadgar, and this on Leeroy a legit OTK now?

posted a message on Odd taunt warr vs. regular odd warr

What I mean by “dead removal” is that Odd Taunt Warrior’s win condition isn’t a minion, it’s the HP. Shield Slam is really only useful against Baku and Oondasta, and maybe Amani. After you clear those 3-4, there’s nothing left to use it on.

Maybe try being more aggressive next time you meet one? Throw down taunts and go face every turn to keep that armor count as low as possible. But also, yeah, if you’re not completing the quest until turn 14, that’s a huge problem. I’d say, on average (and tiny sample size caveat applies here, obviously), I see the quest completed by 7-8, which is about when I tend to complete it too, when I switch to Odd Quest.

Like so many matchups in this game, could just be super unlucky draw keeping you down.

posted a message on Odd taunt warr vs. regular odd warr

I played Odd Warrior last month and got to Rank 1. I started autoconceding to Odd Taunt Warrior because no matter how much you tank up, which you can’t do every turn without sacrificing your own (already limited) offense anyway, the Ragnaros HP-pixie-HP combo eats up the majority of what armor you have. That, coupled with the fact that reckless flurry and shield slam are dead removals against Odd Taunt, means that *if the deck is played correctly*—and every one that I saw was—you’re dead in the water from the get-go.

To your point about Dr. Boom, if you high roll the right hero power multiple times in a row, I’m sure it’s possible to eke out a win, but there’s a far greater likelihood that you’ll get the other ones mixed in, all of which are useless against Odd Taunt Warrior. The closest I came to winning was by never playing Dr. Boom and getting ridiculously good draws from Omega Assembly. Even that game wasn’t particularly close....
