Cool I might try that out. I do like Finley though, he has been really useful in so many spots like making totems with taunt or spell damage, healing priest minions to make them draw lol or simple fireballs to ping minions. Those 4/4 nebs would be even more useful.

Just remember the #1 goal of Mill Rogue is to burn through both decks as quickly as possible. In most games you might not even need your hero power, so Finley is more of a distraction. BTGrounds takes advantage of how quickly cards are being drawn while making 4/4 threats that have to be dealt with, and it's also a good counter to Reno.

posted a message on How to get cards fast?

Make the best deck you can with what you've got and play every day. Between dailies and free TBrawl packs you can get tons of stuff quickly, but until you can consistently win 6+ games per run in Arena you should save your gold for adventures and packs.

Whoever made this probably assumed Stand Against Darkness was broken. 5 soldiers for 5 mana instead of the usual 10, right?

My friend teaches grade school, all his students play on their iPads, and they're all razor-sharp in math and other subjects. Maybe we've found the solution to our failing public schools: gaming!

Now we're only 1 or 2 cards away from Infinite Reno Rogue.

jazzfan, I take it you're an old-school M:tG player like me. I too have been waiting for similar mechanics from way back to make their way into HS, namely the Tutors, Eureka, and possibly Mind Twist/Hymn to Tourach/Hypnotic Specter-type cards although discard would likely be the most OP effect in HS. Then there's stuff like Timetwister and Shahrazad which sound fun but will only make games MUCH longer and less enjoyable.

I do like the idea of a Time Spiral where you can reshuffle both decks and replace both hands, something that eliminates your hand size limit and/or allows you to replace/reshuffle cards that would get burned when your hand is too full (ala Library of Leng), and something to retrieve a card that's been discarded or possibly something from your collection (anyone remember Ring of Ma'ruf?)

That said, I left M:tG for HS and I kinda like having a different game where you mulligan for better spells instead of enough land to play them.

posted a message on New Twitch Streams - The Political Things, Night School, and f2p with HSThompson

Hello everyone. My friends and I are putting together a small network of our channels on Twitch. Our goal is to stream 7 nights a week with new content including gaming, news, politics, original music, movies, and other projects. Here's what we've been working on recently. (Note: All streams below are intended for a mature audience)

    https://www.twitch.tv/paulm80

Night School & f2p with HSThompson
Giving the brain a workout with Tavern Brawls, climbing the ladder, enjoying good food and drink, listening to some old tunes while contemplating life, the universe, and everything. As with our other show, The Political Things, serious debate and discussion in chat is welcomed and encouraged. Also watch as I keep myself sharp grinding away with my f2p account (HSThompson). Mostly I play HearthStone, Virtual Pool 4, and Fallout 4, but I'm always looking for recommendations.
(weeknights and some weekends, typically Mondays & Wednesdays after midnight EST)

    The Political Things
Recently somebody asked in forums about this year's election and some of the candidates. While such things are out of place and inappropriate here at HearthPwn (and I understand completely), on our weekly show it's exactly what we're looking for. Join me and my friends as we discuss everything from pop culture and media to politics and the conspiracies of the world. All viewers are encouraged to ask questions, offer informed opinions, make witty remarks, and even outright destroy our insane positions in chat. Please note that all things said or implied during this or any of our programs are intended purely as humor. No hate, only good clean fun, and we all might even come away having learned something too.
(Friday nights & some Saturday nights after 9pm EST)

All questions/comments are appreciated. Enjoy the shows. Thanks for watching.

posted a message on The Future of Druid - a discussion on Savagery

If Savagery cost 0 and/or gave you armor equal to your current attack then it might be as good as Bite. For now it's like Bestial Wrath and other cards Blizzard should completely reinvent so they're worth playing.

posted a message on Dragon Priest suddenly viable?

Definitely could work in Standard, but even in Wild turn 1 2/3, 2/4 taunt on turn 2, 3/5 on turn 3, 3/6 taunt on turn 4 is tough for any deck to keep up with. I'm guessing the best post-Old Gods decks will win on turn 5 or 50.

Looks solid. I'd cut Finley and a Fan for 2 Beneath the Grounds. Blade Fury is best when you can boost your weapon but there's nothing worth cutting for removal. You can just bounce or burn threats instead of damaging them.

Oddly enough I've been playing Priest a lot more lately. Thank you for the free gold.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Soggoth the Slitherer

Another lgdry that takes two cards to kill. Crazed Alchemist + BGH?
Could also go in a reanimated taunts deck with Tirion and Sunwalkers.
Might also make Black Knight or even Rend viable again.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Deathwing, Dragonlord

At first glance I thought, "YES!!! Another finisher for my dragon deck." Ten seconds later I realized, "Wait...how many dragons are good without their battlecry?" Chillmaw loses its clear effect, Hungry Dragon loses its drawback, but you've already got a 12/12 next to it. Faerie Dragon? Sorcerer? Drake? Even if the rest of my hand is Malygos, Ysera, Nozdormu, Chromaggus, and/or the original DW (which becomes a plain old 12/12) you've still gotta survive long enough to get there. If Noz is in the mix that's probably gg...assuming they don't have an owl for Dlord or Wild Pyro/Equality in hand (easily the #1 answer for most of the Old Gods decks I see coming).

He'll be OP in some TBrawls and fun in some crazy combo deck that reanimates or copies him. Otherwise, I withdraw my original vote. He's playable but like C'Thun you've gotta build an entire deck around him.

posted a message on Horribly discriminatory brawl

I'm just glad to see a Brawl without any Flamewaker Mages.
At first I thought it was gonna be impossible for new players to even make a deck this week, let alone win a game with only maybe 4-8 minions and mostly useless spells. This week they encouraged net-decking. After many frustrating games on my f2p account I finally checked hearthpwn and realized, "Oh yeah, I could just play Hunter with bows and secrets or Warrior with weapons and removal. I'm a moron!"
Still waiting for the solitaire brawl (no duplicate cards) where anyone who doesn't have Reno is SOL.

posted a message on No one wants to accept friend request after they beat me...

Best case you add a friend to discuss a game actually worth following up on, but in the last year I think I've had one decent conversation with a total stranger after a win. Usually it's somebody who friend requests after a bad beat so they can complain. Last time I added a "friend" he simply said "Lucky." and immediately deleted me. This is why I only add people I know personally, at least until more players lighten up and realize the whole point is to enjoy this game and possibly make new friends instead of insulting random strangers.
