posted a message on Shade vs. MCT

I'd run both and keep track of which wins you more games. Although MCT is more fun, against Hunter and Palladin you'll probably end up grabbing tokens, or a totem from a Shaman. Against Zoo or Mechs it's usually too little too late, and if they've got 4+ minions on board that probably means you've been getting hit every turn and you're gonna need to Innervate/Swipe whatever you don't steal. With Brewmasters you could bounce them but chances are you'd be taking tons of damage while trying to set that combo up. Shade works better in a Force/Rage deck where you drop 1 or 2 early and forget about them until you've cleared the way for a massive game-ending attack.

posted a message on Should it be possible to "un"-silence a card?

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering about an un-silence effect. After asking about it a while back and giving it much thought I think it would be better if we had new and/or improved mechanics instead. It's already easy to bounce or Reincarnate minions. Although I would like a way to un-Hex or un-Polymorph a minion I'd much rather have ways to make such things backfire (like Secrets or minions that enter play during your opponent's turn in response to certain actions). Un-silence would be very situational with limited use. I wanna see more Combo cards and Secrets.

posted a message on Dr. Boom has become unplayable

Sooo...your all-but-guarenteed 3-for-1 play is somehow unplayable because it might only be a 2-for-1 with some free damage to my face, and only if I'm able to deal with it immediately? Like Rag, there's a reason why everybody who has him plays him in every deck. Enjoy him now before he's bumped up to 8 mana.

posted a message on Important cards per class

If you're just starting out I wouldn't worry about lgdrys or even most epics. You'll get plenty over time doing dailies and getting packs. Pick 2 or 3 classes you like most and concentrate on those rather than spreading your resources thin across all 9. Each class has great decks that work with mostly basics and commons and a few rares (Mech Mage, Druid with Yetis, Zoo Warlock, anything Hunter).

I'd also strongly consider buying Naxx and maybe some packs. Watch the pros on YT to learn all the tricks. Most importantly, play more HS and never give up. You'd be amazed how many games you'll win by making smart plays and not clicking Concede. GGs.

posted a message on What deck can win on turn 4 most consistently?

No deck is that consistent. And if you always won or lost on turn 4 this game wouldn't be worth playing. But since you asked, I think turbo Shaman with cheap windfuries, Flametongues, axes and bolts might win you a few, or Zoo with the predictable turn 5 Doomguard. There's also face Hunter which I'd prefer not to see more of. Murloc is fine but AoE and unlucky draws cripple it.

posted a message on F2P Players, it can happen

Again, as with any game, you get out what you put into it. Those who go strictly f2p are giving themselves a challenge, but if you can learn to win with all basic stuff then as your collection expands so will your winrate. However, it is worth buying something if you're getting started, Having spent several grand on other games over the years (namely M:tG) $20 for Naxx is a no-brainer, and maybe $40 for packs is small change. Once you've got enough to make 2 or 3 solid decks you can quickly earn enough gold to get whatever else you want.

posted a message on What is the best control deck?

Control Priest, CW, Handlock = paper, rock, scissors. I built Handlock first because it required the fewest lgndrys. Since CW needs the most I'm a long way off. I voted Priest because I've had the most success with it. Palladin is fun too. Mage I like unless I get a bad draw which is often. Actually I'd put Mill Druid with Tree of Life ahead of everything because it's almost unbeatable if played correctly.

posted a message on Which legendary do I pick?

You've got them in the right order, Cairne slightly ahead of Kel and then Syl which might just steal a token or totem. Actually depending on your hero and the rest of your deck it might make sense to take Kel, like if you've got a Sunwalker, Ironbark, or something else that will lead to an immediate concession, like if you're drafting Shaman and get a Reincarnate.

posted a message on Horrible legendary rate...anybody else?

Bought 40 packs last year, got 3 lgndrys. Since then I've opened about 1 every 4-6 weeks. Like the golfer Bobby Jones I believe in luck. The more I play the luckier I get.

posted a message on What legendary to enchant?

Even assuming that Dr Boom isn't about to get bumped up to 8 mana I'd still take Syl first, then Dr Boom, then Rag.

posted a message on The Creature Health Creep and AoE

Well timed AoE still gives good value. I'm waiting for cards in the next set whose effects are based on the # of mana crystals you have, such as deal X damage for X or draw X minus 1 cards, or minions you can spend extra mana on for "Battlecry: Gain +X/+X." By then there will be many more cards considered overpowered.

Two if at all, along with 2 Musters, 2 Hobgoblins, 2 Enhance-o, 2 Jugglers, all kinda necessary in a rush deck.

posted a message on Is this Shaman Death deck any good?

Shaman is my favorite deck to play, even with a 50% winrate at best. Since the ideal win condition appears to be crushing with big minions mid-late game I drop the Flametongues, Jugglers, Bloodlust and Creepers for more early removal. Just ignore or zap early threats and start dropping big bombs on turn 5. I've found a 2nd Ancestral Spirit often works better than Baron, and a Vitality Totem behind taunts is better than a Healbot in a slow deck, unless you add pandas to bounce and reuse it. Feugen and Stalagg are good even if silenced since you can Reincarnate, which when used on Kel usually = a concession.

posted a message on Trade Prince?

Much better to have Rag, Syl, or Dr Boom which go in many decks than a card that might go in one you'll probably never use, unless you're into weird fun decks.
