I ran into about 8 zoolocks around level 18-16. I was expecting your typical renolock during the mulligan. It's a great way to steal a few wins. As I tend to play control decks, I'm looking for certain cards. I subsequently got wrecked. The zoo runs a discard aspect to it as well, which sustains the aggro. It will lose to pirate decks, but still it is gonna be harder for guessing on mulligans now.
I've been playing since just before WotoG. Arena has always been a mediocre time for me, where I average 3 wins and make just enough to make it worth playing. Sure Mage is still busted, but now you can pick practically pick any class and have a solid chance of doing well. Warlock is on the same tier as Mage, and many of the other classes are right below them. The fact that I have to several minutes deciding Whether i pick Mage, Warlock or priest, is amazing.
So I was playing anyfin paladin, and of course I was going up against everyone with the jade druid. I quickly found out how to destroy jade decks. granted it is the first day, and people are still tweaking the deck out. and the biggest jade golem I saw in any of the games was a 6/6 so they aren't to scary. playing aggressively with anyfin is necessary to win. as once you get passed turn 16 or so you just lose. I averaged around 13 or 14 turn games. I guess we will see how everything shakes out over the next couple of weeks.
So I've experimented with a priest deck to counter shamans. it runs the usual board clearers, but includes 2 shadow word horror. the horrors deal with the thunderbluff totem armies. run some dragons to make book wyrm good. chillmaw provides another board clearer. nzoth for late game punch.
So the meta is midrange. That being said there is a large group of control players, who have survived the aggro meta. they are flourishing on the midrange scene. I think we will see an uptick in combo decks, to counter this. aggro is pretty weak. combo can survive long enough against midrange, unless midrange gets perfect curve etc. thoughts on this?
That's a fair assessment of it. I've only drafted it a couple of times, and the times I used it was against Shaman decks. We're it is a bit better. Cards like deathlord, or oasis snapjaw, it is worth it to just gain board control.
What is your opinion on this card in Arena. Obviously this is not that good in constructed. In arena there are plenty of times this board clearer, is viable. Most arena decks, are filled with vanilla 2 drops. Most people have a tendency to pick the higher health, as they will last, so you see a lot of 2/3 minions. I like priest in arena, so I am seeing if others feel the same about the card.
Priest wrecks Shaman. Even aggro Shaman gets wrecked by basic priest cards, like sw pain sw death, not to mention entomb. These cards remove the early threats while Shaman has to play around the locked crystals, which can lead to some bad turns, we're they are forced to hero power. This benefits priest, as they are obviously late game class.
Very cool cards. I feel like there is a lack of diversity though. For warlock, karazhan pushed heavy for discard. Now this would obviously strengthen that deck, another archetype would be nice.
Priest doesn't need another 4 drop, but cool card anyways.
I think hunter is actually flawless as a whole. It is hard to keep lots of minions so it would be interesting how hunters build there decks around this.
Shaman is good, I always loved the totem aspect. Not op but strong together.

I presume this is like the tracking mechanic because it does not have "random" In the text.

Can we get a venture co. minion for priest...2 mana 4/5 with your minions cost 3 more. that way we don't have to run purify, ancient watcher combo.

Interesting. I haven't played against a single combo deck. granted I'm pretty low rank, so everyone runs midrange to climb.

Nzoth priest is actually very strong in this meta.

I think warrior is gonna replace Paladin as number 3. Because the loss of snow chugged allows them to use weapons effectively
