    Yay, another puzzle!

    1-      Blizzard

    2-      Attack 1 Lord of the Arena with Water elemental, both die

    3-      Cast Frostbolt on the other Lord, he dies

    4-      Fireball on one Ironbark Protector, he dies

    5-      Cone of cold, Ice lance and hero power on second Ironbark, he dies.

    6-      Cast Pyroblast at Hero for 10 dmg (21 HP remaining)

    7-      Attack with Mana Addict (13/3), Mana Wyrm (7/3) and Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2/2) for 22 dmg, overkill 1

    Nice puzzle, deceptively simple until you realize that Divine Shield, Taunt and Redemption make a nasty combo :)

    Playing around Redemption while still making sure to keep enough HP for Eye for an Eye were the tougher parts in my opinion.

     

    1- Attack Tirion with Druid of the Claw

           a. If secret Noble Sacrifice procs

                     i.      Defender dies from the attack

                     ii.      Attack Tirion with Ancient of Lore to burst the bubble

                     iii.      Attack Tirion with Ironbark Protector to kill him

                     iv.      Play Bite and activate Hero Power (5 attack)

                     v.      Attack hero with your hero to win

           b. If no secret triggers, Tirion’s bubble is busted :

                     i.      Play Mark of the Wild on the Recruit to give him taunt

                     ii.      Play Bite (1 mana left)

                     iii.      Attack the Recruit with your Hero to kill him (1 armor and 5 HP remaining)

                     iv.      Wether a secret procs or not is now irrelevant and doesn’t change the next steps (Redemption will proc from recruit and he won’t have taunt anymore).

                     v.      Attack Tirion with Ironbark Protector to kill him

                     vi.      Attack Hero with Ancient of Lore (5 dmg) to win (if Eye for an Eye procs our Hero still has enough armor to survive)

    Indeed, I misread the card and thought you took a random card from the opponent's hand (following the news and forums, but I don't know the cards well). That makes it even more plausible then that you could get unlucky and never get the card you wanted until you ran out of time.

    To answer the question as to why Rorix mentioned a solution not being 100%, here's my explanation:

    I think he thought of the Lorewalker Cho solution. Now assuming that Mind Vision gets copied in opponent's hand before you pick a random card, you have 50% chance to pick Mind Vision instead of the desired Divine Spirit.

    Now you can keep casting free Mind Visions over and over again, but assuming you get really, really unlucky, your turn timer could run out before you managed to pick Divine Spirit and finish the opponent off.

    That would be why he mentioned his solution having over 90% chance of giving a win, although that percentage will vary according to your speed at playing.

    If you have time for 2 mind visions, the chance to get Divine Spirit is 75%; 3 mind visions is 87,5%; 4 mind visions is 93,75%, etc.

    Taking into account the animations when you play the cards, some lag and the time to think up a strat, it's entirely possible that the turn timer could run out before you have a chance to finish him off.

    Another fun puzzle, thank you Rorix!

    For my part this one wasn't too tough after browsing the cards list on the site. 100% win chance here, and could have done it with opponent at 27hp+6 armor instead of 26+6 :)

    Here's my solution:

    1-      Play Shadow Madness on Sorcerer’s apprentice (6 mana left)

    2-      Play STORMWIND KNIGHT (2/5 Charge) (last card drawn) (4 mana left, thanks to pink-sized summoner))

    3-      Play PW :S, Divine Spirit, Divine Spirit and Inner Fire on Stormwind Knight (all spells cost 1 less thanks to sorcerer’s apprentice : 0 mana left): Knight is now 32/32 with CHARGE!

    4-      Attack with Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Pint-Sized Summoner to kill Shieldbearer

    5-      Attack with Stormwind Knight for 32 dmg to win the game (Chicken didn’t even get to play!)


    The lesson of this puzzle is that Stormwind Knight is an incredible card in a Priest deck! Good thing that those knights are there to protect their little Prince J

    First off, I am really happy that you will keep posting those puzzles, and if Blizzard hires you you can be sure I'll log in to do the "puzzle mode" every day! That would make for a very cool way to implement daily quests in Hearthstone: solve today's puzzle for some gold or a pack of cards!

    Here's my solution for this one:

    At first I was stuck with Garrosh at 1 life, but finally found it. Was missing delaying the Hyena after the other cards had attacked to put it next to the Alpha, good job on that one!

    1-      Choose Arcane Shot from Tracking

    2-      Play Timber wolf (4 mana left) on the far right of the field.

    3-      Play bestial wrath (3 mana left) on the Young Dragonhawk

    4-      Here is what the field looks like : 3/4; 5/5; 4/2; 6/1 WF; 2/1

    5-      Attack with everyone except Timber wolf, taking the opponent hero to 10 life.

    6-      Play Scavenging Hyena (1 mana left) next to Dire Wolf Alpha

    7-      Attack Angry Chicken with Timber wolf, killing both and giving +4/+2 to Hyena

    8-      Hyena is now 8/4 and attacks the ennemy Hero, bringing him to 2 life.

    9-      Finish him off with Arcane Shot (0 mana left)

    Hey all, here’s for my second try, forum bugged for me yesterday and couldn’t submit it. I’m probably late in the race by now, but here goes anyway.

    Keep those puzzles coming, they are loads of fun and very well thought out!

    1.   Start by getting rid of Redemption, your mana-eating minions and opponent’s taunt minions :
    • Buff Shieldbearer with Humility and have him attack Lord of the arena. That kills the shieldbearer and uses up Redemption
    • Buff one of the mirror images with Blessing of Might, and attack it with Mana wraith, killing both
    • Attack Lord of the Arena with Venture Co Mercenary, killing both
    • Play Elven Archer (7 mana left) and use do 1 dmg to the last mirror image, killing it
    • opponent now has 5 cards in hand and no taunt minion

    2.      Next, you want to be able to draw enough cards to finish your deck (to make sure you draw what you need)

    • Play captain’s parrot (5 mana left), get Dread Corsair and play it for free
    • Play Crazed alchemist (3 mana left), and use its battlecry to the swap attack and health of Malygos, making it a 12/4.
    • Play Divine Favor (1 mana left) : You now have 1 card in hand and the opponent has 5, making you able to draw your last 4 cards

    3-.     Now for the kill :

    • Play Wisp: Frostwolf warlord is now 10/10
    • Play Eye for an Eye (0 mana left)
    • Attack Malygos with your hero, killing Malygos, taking 12 dmg to your hero and doing 12 dmg to the ennemy hero, thanks to Eye for an Eye (ennemy down to 10 HP
    • Attack opponent with Frostwolf warlord to win the game.

    posted a message on Hearthstone Puzzles #2 - "Divine Sacrifice"

    Hi all,

    Been reading those forums for a while, but those puzzles are so nice I had to create an account J

     

    So here goes :

    1-      Play Elven Archer (5 mana, down to 0) --> do 1 dmg to a mirror image, killing it

    2-      Play Abusive sergeant (5 mana, down to 5) --> give +2 to frostwolf warlord (now 11/9)

    3-      Attack second mirror image with Mana wraith, killing it

    4-      Attack Lord of the Arena with venture co Mercenary, killing both

    5-      Secret activates, reviving mercenary

    6-      Attack the hero with the revived mercenary (7 dmg), the warlord (11 dmg) and truesilver champion (4 dmg), for 22 overall dmg, killing him

    **This is supposing you can attack a second turn with the mercenary after reviving him with Redemption, which sounds weird, so it is probably a wrong answer to the puzzle. But it's the only one I have for now. I'll try to find a new one if you confirm I'm wrong.
