Hearthpwn

Well, I'm done. I give up. Blizzard you win, I accept defeat. I realize now I can't beat a rigged game.

I've been playing for more than 5 years, spend a decent amount of money, have quite a card collection, and are able to craft a lot of good decks (according to hsreplay and hearthpwn), but I was never able to reach any high levels. Before the current system I reached level 7, en 2 months ago I was able to reach Diamond 2, but then for some unknown reason, the game just turned against me. Like all players, I had my share of losing streaks, but we have reached a point where I honestly think the game is rigged and it (or the developers) really really hate me.

Because I had some bonus stars from last month I did manage to reach D10 again, but it was very hard this time. With a lot of frustration (and almost some broken hardware), I managed the get to D8 with 3 stars. And just like before my losing streaks started (b.t.w it almost always starts when I'm about to level up). I told myself that with good decks it should be impossible to lose 9 games in a row, but I guess I stand corrected. The game just dropped be back to D10 with no stars at a rate like there is no tomorrow.

To be fair, I think winning and losing are both important parts of the game. When implemented correctly it makes it balanced. But the balance is long gone, and targeted losing streaks have taken over. Most of the time I can even predict which deck the opponent is playing at turn 1, but only Blizzard knows why everyone else can win and I almost always lose playing the same deck. Currently, I'm lucky if I win 1 out of 10 games with a deck that should have a 60-70% win rate, just due to a bad mulligan. I even would say that the game has been tampered with, but there is no hard evidence.

After the 9th loss in a row, I closed and uninstalled the game. Playing a rigged game is just not worth the frustration anymore.
Until this morning I even though about pre-ordering the next expansion, but that money can now be spend elsewhere.

D5 feels far away at the moment, so I will keep an eye on this topic in hope to find some better deck (or a magic trick).

I managed to get to D7 very easily with Murloc Paladin (started in bronze somewhere) , but out of nowhere the winning streak ended and reaching D6 was impossible. So I switched to Odd DH, which (after some practice) helped me to reach D6, but that's it. There seems no way to climb any further than that. I get to D6, reach 3 stars, then loose enough games in a row to become D7 again. I can reach D6 with 3 stars again, but then the loosing streak starts again. And this process keeps repeating it self.
