The legendary skull that Illidan consumed. It plays around discardlock, but tries to aproach a more controlly version, due to its cost and, poor value if you summon little minions.

I would say  Ysera, as it fits in a lot of control decks, and also is a Classic card wich means you will get more than one year value ;)

Well, it could be great. Liadrin as the new pally and Tyrande as new priest?. We can call him troll, but the fact is that he has specified 2 cards pretty well, thats easy to contrast once the update is out ;).

232 new cards, that will fit on a new format, so they wont be as conservative as before.... I cant wait!!!!!

Although there have been Mill Decks almost since release, we have never had a card specifically designed to that type of decks. It fills the gap of a big threat mid game, which will help you get to fatigue late game, where your win condition is.

posted a message on Class Creation Competition Phase II - FINAL POLL
    Quote from MardyVain jump
    Quote from DialM4Murloc jump
    Quote from Zukuu jump

Well, originally, it was just going to be the Hero Portraits linked to their corresponding Submission Topic post, but I decided I'd put in the extra time and effort to get your example cards up ahead of time too so that they could better serve exactly their purpose, to give folks a little taste of what you had to offer this Phase and interest them in clicking the link to your submission post to find out more. Remember, exactly why we have the poll lasting longer is to give folks the time to check out those submission post links and see everything you've been up to in the way that you have presented it rather than in the way that we would present it.

As for why hero powers weren't included, that was because (A) They already got judged during Phase I and (2) the variance in Hero Powers, like which ones produce tokens and how many and what kinds and with what custom keywords that also need explaining, meant that was going to be very difficult to display in a consistent and aesthetically pleasing way. So, like your non-example cards, I'm hoping people take the time to follow the giant links to your submission posts to find out more.

I like that better actually. As it stands, it's out of context and many will vote just based on the 3 sample cards. It would enforce that people  see the actual class as a whole. Makes sense given the increased time span.

I doubt many people will just look at the three example cards of each class and be done with it. This is a more hardcore competition than the WDC, hence the most of the voters will probably be more hardcore. However, those with three boring example cards may suffer but they had the chance to choose their example cards.

Also, you should be more appreciative of all the work me and Asylum (especially Asylum) puts into these competitions instead of just complaining. Sure, give negative feedback but you should do it in a more nuanced, appreciative way. Of course people are gonna have different opinions on stuff but there is nicer ways in which it can be presented.

I'm not going to complain about the entire thing, I can imagine the toil behind the entire process so, first of all, we can only thank you.
To point out the question, I think that this is just a particular way to show our works: the trickiest classes could be less appealing considering people (most of? just a few? I don't know, really) can't really check 32 submission, and some mechanics could be not displayed well in this way.
Another think is (but it may be just me, so don't count this if I'm wrong) I thought the submission were just topic-based, so, in my case, the cards I chose as example benefit from a briefly explanation rather than a simple exposition; I cannot manage to find where this is written, and again if It's already explained and I missed that just don't consider this criticism and forgive me.
If it's not showed anywhere, I think that next time should be clarified to guide contendants on their cards choice.

Although these may seem criticisms, I just want to give my personal opinion withouth whining at all; these are just suggestions, they may be wrong and they may be right, so negative feedbacks on feedback are always accepted.
Hope there will be another competition like this, 'cause it was (and still is) funny as hell.

I have come to a conclusion.

I will make my point with a concrete example. You and I Mardy Vain were on the same page, you were the next post, and the previous one was Cat. During posting phase, we were almost on a tie. It ended up 9 votes for me and 8 for you, a really good score, looking the rest of the page and the other posts in Page 1.

I really thought we both were going to reach Phase III (according to the criteria of Phase I). For this example i will use Cat with all my respect to Ashero86 who have created a great class with hero attacking and stuff, that unfortunately have lost his cards due to Hearthcards i imagine.

The thing is that our score was THRICE Cats score. I consider those votes really important because were votes from people that have maybe read lots of clases and decided to vote ours. In this new voting phase without example cards, Cat doubles our score...

I wont blame in any case the moderators of this competition, cause they have done an incredible job making it possible, and it was incredibly funny to design all my cards. Maybe a forum wasnt the perfect way to present it, I admire you asylum for all your work posting all example cards, but i feel like this in Phase I where only a bold concept would make it. It actually shows less than the Phase I. I assume that this could be the best way to show it because all this pages and threads and wont complain for the change of direction the voting have made.

Overall was really great competing and reading all your damn great creations, good luck to the ones that promote. :)

    Warchief:

"A power-mad and tactically brilliant weaponmaster, Blackhand has both the ambition to rule and the cruelty to maintain his hold on the conquered. Under his leadership, the bold orcs of the Blackrock clan arm an entire world with the strength of steel. Blackrock slaves labor whip-crack to whip-crack on frightful siege engines—weapons that will inevitably be turned against the slaves’ families, neighbors, and homes."

As other Hero Powers Overheated grants +1 attack to our hero. In adittion of that, it sets Blackhand in a different hero state, like the shadowform of the priests, Overheated only lasts until the end of the turn, in this state, Blackhand synergizes with some of his class cards.

Usually Overheated buff minions, and deal damage, but also affect enemy minions in some cases. As it last until the end of the turn, it is an offfensive Hero Power, minions buffed by Overheated, will loose their buffs during enemy turn.

It is a tricky Hero Power because it affects directly on yor board and turn, many times you will want to take advantage of its effect, but can afford those 2 mana cristals less.

    Minion:

    Read between the lines. ;)

    Weapon:

As Blackrock is a huge foundry, used to upgrade Orcs gear, this hammer is used to take down enemies, and buffing your minions.

    Spell:

I have decided to include this spell in the 3 example cards because it fits a single role that other basic spells just dont. The overwhelming power of the Warchiefs, its a really situational spell, that drawn at late game could be useless, but you create that fear in you opponents mind. what if he has just drawn it in inicial hand, do I play a bunch of minions or do I play around that damage?.

As you will see, other spells of the class are down 5 mana cost, and are really offensive oriented. But Shattering Smash WILL CRUSH THEM ALL!!!

Click on the Spoiler for more Warchief Power!!!

As you will see I have included 1 extra minion and weapon and 5 extra spells. More or less like the usually class basic card set: 2 Minions, 2 weapons and 6 Spells.

    Minion:

    Weapon:

    Spells:

     Edit: Some balance changes.

    Blizzard

As you can read a Warchief is a seasoned warrior filled with battle experience and scars. He has powerful and loyal soldiers that will die for him if he asks, always march forward even wounded, or if it means a terrible death. He also has the power of fire and steel and can enrage to encourage his soldiers. No matter how fast you are, or you can run, the war is knocking on your door, and we are the Masters of it.

    Hero Power:

As other Hero Powers Overheated grants +1 attack to our hero. In adittion of that, it sets Blackhand in a different hero state, like the shadowform of the priests, Overheated only lasts until the end of the turn, in this state, Blackhand synergizes with some of his class cards.

It is a tricky Hero Power because it affects directly on yor board and turn, many times you will want to take advantage of its effect, but can afford those 2 mana cristals less.

    Example Cards:

    "For the Iron Horde!!"

The Iron Soldiers are Blackhands shock troops. As a 2  drop you will always want them in your initial hand, although it deals 2 dmg to himself each time it attacks, with the use of Overheated can be devastating, dont forget that  your Hero Power grants you +1 attack, so you might be able to kill an enemy drop with your hero power, and then attack to face to deal 4 damage. Also note that even if Iron Soldiers die attacking, they first attack, then deal 2 dmg if Overheated, and lastly die.

EDIT: Should say Random instead of Ramdom. :D

"We are... the Warchief's weapon... Without us, he..."

The Black Hand is Blackhands war hammer. Its like a Deathsbite, with a great Overheated buff, weapons will be really important in Blackhands deck, because they have a unique offensive power. As the deck won´t have big AoE removals, you probably will always want to use The Black Hand Overheated, note that with this effect you will have 5 attack!.

"Your bodies will fuel the flames."

Marked for Death is one of the hard removals of Blackhand, although it is not as strong as other cost 1 removals like Execute, here you will have to "trade" your minions, it is so versatile thanks to its 2 damages. Thanks to this effects, it can be used as an early removal, better than Arcane Shot, and Arcane Missiles, or as a late one, trading with no cost you minions. There are also weaknesses, big minions like Ysera or big taunts, will make you spend your whole attacking turn to clear them.

So this is my hero submission, if I have to think a class, i would say Iron Horde Warchief. I find the class really funny, trying to find all the time the best tempo Overheated turn, to smash your enemies with enrages, charge and direct damage mechanics. It is mostly an agressive deck, in my opinion it would be good for a metagame full of non so risky aggro decks. My objective is that you will have to risk everything to overtake your enemy, which can end up being a smashing victory or defeat.

Also a controlly version can be made, by presenting Overheat as a spell buffer, granting you big minions good trades.

7 Mana cost, 7 Health, 7 word name. Being a Taunt minion, and the health grants you a little come back, like the one he had scaping that cave, btw he hates weapons, specially Frostmourne.
