ShadowsOfSense posted a message on Ben Brode Explains Why Even "Simple" Solutions Take Time - Ladder RevampPosted in: NewsWhat were you expecting out of a ladder rework? I expected less grind to legend, and better experience for lower ranked and newer players. This has both of that.

Akrosian94 posted a message on Ben Brode Explains Why Even "Simple" Solutions Take Time - Ladder RevampPosted in: NewsHow is this an improvement for lower ranks? The minority of opponents in lower ranks are high ranks anyway because those players climb very fast. This new system only helps those high ranked people but pretty much shits on low ranks or casual players. With 5 stars at every rank the grinding for lower ranks will be even more frustrating.
Sorry Blizzard but a big thumbs down from my side.
With the high ranking people out of the way, the climb in lower ranks will be easier. It make take more wins, but if you are an average player, not facing high-skill players in lower brackets will probably reduce the overall numbers of games needed to reach a certain milestone. -

AxletheBeast posted a message on If you still think this game is random you are insanePosted in: General DiscussionIf winrates were weighted in the way you're suggesting -- where your success is actively damaged by weighting -- it would be next to impossible for professional players or even just high-ranked players to rise above others. Literally... the existence of players who succeed over others disproves the idea of skewed ranking... unless you think Blizzard is favoring pros... but how would they have even become pros then?
Incidentally there are hoards of logical reasons for bad luck in ladder. Constantly matching against a powerful deck would make sense since those are usually popular, and as people have complained about in identical other threads, sure sometimes you try to pick a deck that counters it and get matched against counters to THAT... but that's how that works too; everyone is trying to counter what each other are playing, which is always a rat race where one deck replaces another constantly.
If you are unable to rise in winrate or in ranking (one or the other must rise), then you are not improving as a player. Blaming statistics with alternate explanations instead of blaming the only consistent factor in your games (you) and improving your play is not going to help you win games.

Oh but at least you played a grand sum of 5 games to back up your claim!

MrShmoove posted a message on Aggro Domination in KaCPosted in: General DiscussionI haven't seen a single aggro deck in the last two days! They are ALL midrange or control. So just because YOU had a streak of aggro doesn't mean that's all there is. You just hit a patch of them.

So easy! Kept a Deathlord and Lightwell on the board the whole time and burned him down by turn 8.

One shot, one kill!

Almost too easy!

Another one-attempt victory. Great deck and write up!

Couldn't have been easier. Thanks!

One shot. Like a boss!

Worked like a champ! Took me a couple of tries, but I got it. Thanks for all the hard work in making this guide.

0-3 with Mage! Barely a 60 point draft. Had a firelands Portal and a bunch of crap vanilla cards. Played against several decks that had so much synergy they could have been constructed.
At least it was free and I got an extra pack out of the whipping!

Thanks for the info! I've been having this problem on both my desktop and laptop. Will try the fix when I get home this evening.

ACTUALLY, I really do think it is awesome that the OP has collected the full set. There was nothing negative or disparaging in my comment. I simply pointed out, in a humorous manner, that it was probably quite expensive. It is sad in this community that people's first reaction is to go negative.
