Introducing the Illusionist class, featuring Myranda the Hag!

There are several themes to the illusionist class:

-A Hero Power that helps to control the randomness of other cards, or to avoid effects completely

-Making your opponent see things that aren't there

-A new keyword called "Morph", which condenses the phrase "At the start of your turn, destroy this minion and..." into a single word. Doomsayer, for example, would essentially be "Morph: Destroy ALL minions."

    Additional Information:

The main difference between a Morph card and a Dormant card is that Morph cards are live the moment they are played, and your opponent has the chance to deal with it before its effect triggers. Just like a Dormant card, Morph cards cannot attack the turn their effect triggers (unless it has Rush/Charge), making it slow but powerful.

There are also different ways to use the Levitate hero power. A simple way would be to lift an enemy Taunt minion that is in the way. Another way would be to lift one of your minions so it won't get hit by an effect from one of your cards (i.e. Barron Geddon or Mad Bomber). A third way is to lift an enemy minion to help control a random effect (i.e. Ragnaros the Firelord). Two important notes, all other end-of-turn effects trigger before the minion is returned to the board. Also, if you use it on an enemy minion, it is returned to the board at the end of your turn and can still attack/function like normal on your opponent's turn.

All in all it's a slow class; just like any good Illusionist trick, it requires time to set it up. But the class has a variety of cards that interact with the hero power (making single-target removal easier), strong-statted early game minions (often with a negative effect attached to it; great risk often comes with great reward), and plenty of tricks up it's sleeve!

    Hi all,

Do we need to include an upgraded Hero Power (a la Justicar Trueheart)?

Also, is there an easy way to look at past submissions? I'd hate to end up copying someone else's ideas that have already been done.

    Thanks!

Simple, not overpowered, a heavy reliance on randomness; everything you need in a Battlegrounds card.

"They need to hurry her every time..."

When I first looked at it I thought it was a little weak, but the more I thought about it I think it's well-statted and could be pretty useful. Nice card!

I'm sure I won't be the only one with this design idea. Is 6 health too strong? I was debating between 5 and 6.

Liking the submissions this week, it seems like most of these would fit right in with the next expansion. Would have to agree though that Flame Sweep is too powerful or cheap or both; it's essentially Shadowflame but you get to keep the Dragon.

Aside from mine I think I like Emerald Envoy and Dragon Breeder the best. Well-balanced and good effects without being overpowered.

I've always thought the 'Go dormant' mechanic has cool potential, wanted to use it without (hopefully) making it too easy to achieve (it's Play two dragons, not summon).

A slightly better-statted Sunwalker that can enter the battlefield on your opponent's turn and severely mess up their plans...

This card has a lot of potential. Flavor is superb and fits SoU really well.

However, I agree with you the wording is quite inconsistent. Plus, the Riddles should have a more riddle-y effect. How about if they all hid some info from your opponent?

In any case, if you polish its its flaws a little bit, you could be a very strong candidate for winning.

     Thanks for the feedback.
I tried to make those riddles more riddle-y, but on the other hand, I want to make them simple enough to keep them in check easily.
Hiding some of the effect was an option, but in this case, it's quite obvious lol
At the moment, I cannot think about something more complicated and balance at the same time, too bad :( Guess I will be going with these effects this time, hopefully can develop it some more later.
Unfortunately, while checking other card texts, the wording seems to be alright. That's quite weird since I have uncomfortable feeling about them as well lol. Probably fix the grammar, but have no idea to make wording much more consistently tho.

I liked this card as well. Since it's a Loatheb-esque card, I think it's stats are relatively fair. I didn't vote for it simply because I'm confused by the mechanic. Is it a discover mechanic? It doesn't say to discover or to give them a "random" riddle, so I wasn't sure how the riddle was determined.

This gives Highlander Decks the ability to also play Quests, which is something they rarely do. Plus with all the explorers receiving an updated card, we need to give Hearthstone's original Harrison Jones a new one.
