His sarcasm is borderline saltiness lol but I love Kripp and he makes valid points. Blizzard can't just "sorta nerf" a card, they have to absolutely kill it from ever being playable again (a la warsong commander, starving buzzard, and novice engineer). Cards like mad scientist and knife juggler make aggro way too powerful and although I personally think knife juggler is fine because of the RNG factor I believe scientist should have been nerfed a LONG time ago, at least downgraded to loot hoarder stats so it can die to hero abilities
Handlock is my all time favorite deck, but unfortunately it's just too slow in this meta. You can't just do nothing for four turns and hope you draw both moltens and a taunter against stuff like aggro paladin and ramp druid. It's a damn shame because it's in theory the single strongest deck in the game
Its funny you posted this, me and a friend were discussing this exact issue a few days out. Not only are all the basic cards orc themed but alot of the core set cards are orc themed, i'm just not interested in playing a dwarf hero with a bunch of orc cards. NOW if Magni came along with an alt art version of the basic set then i would drop 10$ easy on him. But 10$ for an icon and a card back when i pay what ? 20 for a full adventure expansion is a bit silly.
Magni
^This. I've been playing a tauren druid since vanilla, so the only hero I'm probably going to buy is Hamuul Runetotem (if he's the new druid hero), but the thing with druids is it's kinda still ok if, say, druid of the claw is still a night elf, because druids have a lot of cross-faction relationships. But having cards that say "For the warchief/Hellscream!" when you're playing as the king of Dun Morogh is not very fun lol
I think this topic was discussed a lot but in a different way. Players have suggested (including myself) that the cards represent the new hero. I don't know if I'd called it sloppy, just not trying hard enough?
A really good idea would be something like:
Buy the heroes for 10$
As with the original heroes, you start with level 1.
As you level with the heroes, you gain new class cards.
The class cards serve the same function, just different names and art.
This way, as you play more with the same hero, it'll feel more rewarding, plus adds another reason to keep playing the same hero
i agree that's a great idea in theory, but as blizz knows people want instant gratification for their purchases (free xyz) they don't want to have to work for something they just paid money for, as unfortunate as it is, so blizzard would never make people level up a hero they spent real money to buy
Thanks so much for all the upvotes and comments guys!
I had no idea the cairne thing was only a reddit rumor lol, my bad.
As to blizzard saying that new players will feel scared and confused to reskin cards, what a load of BS, they're basically calling their fanbase dumb kids who don't know how to read text lol...
Second, personally I thought medivh was more of a warlock this whole time imo lol idk why they didn't use Kael'thas as the new mage hero honestly...
As to the 'ooh anduin thoughtsteals mirror image / AC and its not his face / pets'... well, duh, but if they gave alleria or medivh new reskins then andin would thoughtsteal the reskins, not the old copies lol, easy cosmetic fix
EDIT: I'll concede on the gorehowl point I guess, although honestly I always thought the idea of legendary weapons and spells to balance the game out would've been a good idea, but that's a moot point lol
I hope you all read my post on "why blizzard was very sloppy with releasing new heroes" and comment on that too! But, since I was in the mood to make some posts on site today, I figured I would make a poll while I'm at it! These are my top picks for the most likely choices for the remaining 6 heroes (2 for each class, 3 for paladin since I couldn't narrow it down to two personally). Vote for which of the 13 you think will be the 6 new heroes! Comment below if you think someone is more deserving than who I mentioned!
Cheers all.
EDIT: Totally forgot to put a second choice up for druid.... but honestly I can't think of any other non-night elf who would be a good candidate besides Hamuul, so if a blue reads this, could you possibly edit the second druid choice to read "Druid: Remulos/Zaetar" because a son of cenarius is the other choice I would have put up. EDIT: I realize that it may be a bit daunting to people who know little or nothing about the Warcraft lore/universe to vote on names that they can't associate with... so, a brief history of each hero!
Varimathras: He was the demon leader of the Undercity before Sylvanas took it over. Cho'gall: Ogre warlock who serves as Gul'Dan's right hand Sen'Jin: Vol'Jin's father, and original leader of the Darkspeak Trolls. Tyrande: Leader of the Night Elves Vanessa VanCleef: Daughter of Edward VanCleef, current leader of the defias brotherhood Maiev Shadowsong: Night Elf Warden who originally guarded Illidan's prison cell Magatha Grimtotem: Leader of the Tauren Shamans Farseer Nobundo: First dranei shaman Sunwalker Dezco: First tauren paladin Lady Liandrin: First blood elf paladin Vindicator Maraad: Very prominent dranei paladin that serves directly under the king of stormwind Hamuul Runetotem: Archdruid / first tauren druid
So I know a lot of people have been complaining that $10 per hero is a bit overpriced... but that's not why I made this post. I'm here to talk about something else (and if it's been mentioned already, I'm sorry for being a repeater!). Blizzard did such a sloppy job in executing these new heroes, that I hope it either gets fixed in a new patch, or they fix it when they add the other 6 alternate heroes. Here's what I mean when I say "sloppy job" as pertaining to each hero:
Magni:Last time I checked, Magni can't use Gorehowl, that's Garrosh's weapon. Furthermore, when your opponent summons Cairne to the field, he still says "Garrosh, you are not fit to rule the horde!" Is he blind?! That's CLEARLY not Garrosh he's up against
Medivh: If his hero ability shoots out purple fire, why is he still shooting out orange fireballs and pyroblasts? Also, last time I checked, when you're using mirror image, I'm pretty sure you'd want to create images of yourself, not of Jaina...
Alleria: If your opponent summons Sylvanas, I'm pretty sure Sylvanas would want to say something to her long lost sister besides "I have no time for games." Also, Huffer, Misha, and Leokk are REXXAR'S PETS! Give her three new animals to summon.
All of this is purely cosmetic (new animal / weapon art) or voice related (make one new sound bit), but it would make the feeling of having new heroes that much better. Plus, maybe more people would be more willing to spend the 10 bucks on the purchase....
EDIT: If you guys can think of other things I might have left out or not thought of myself, post them in the comments! I'm curious to see what else people could potentially come up with.
It seriously annoys me how some people take the whole 90 seconds on turn one to press the end turn button lol. I honestly think the first turn should be 30 seconds long, and every subsequent turn add an extra 5 or 10 seconds, with it capping out at a minute thirty. This would make games go by a lot more quickly.... Thoughts?
Or even something like "battlecry: you pick a card from your opponent's hand and your opponent picks a card from your hand and you swap" THAT would make for some interesting gameplay
It's not that I can't guess what's in my opponent's hand lol, that's very easy, and not the point.
The point is that you could fuck with someone so much by being able to put a removal from their hand and shuffle it back into their deck, or a dr. balanced lol
Sometimes, and by sometimes I mean every time I play this game, I get super salty when I vs any aggro deck. Going face ruins this game. I also get salty when warriors win brawls. or when rag hits the wrong target. RNG sucks
I can't count the number of times I've played this game and been like "Oh jee whiz, if only my opponent didn't have *insert card here* in their hand, then I could've won/prolonged/not lost the game! Guess I'm super unlucky!"
I think a great way to make this game more interactive and, dare I even say it, less luck based, would be to add neutral cards that did something like "battlecry: pick one card from your opponents hand and shuffle it back in their deck. Opponent draws one card," or even something as trivial as a legendary with "battlecry: your opponent's hand is visible next turn" I know blizz would never want to add any interesting card mechanics to their game that aren't super random based, but ideas like this would at least make Mulligan'ing and some games more thought provoking
Example: you're up against a handlock, you use that card and you send a mountain giant back to their deck, or you know they have it in their hand so you can prepare for it. It would just be such a great strategy bump this game needs
I never said he was good in constructed lol. He probably IS good in constructed, but nowhere near as good as in arena. When it's turn 20+ and you're both topdecking and you saved your 24/7 bolvar, you win. End of story lol.

Undertaker is absolutely 100% unplayable because of the nerf. Leeroy is virtually unplayable at 5. Same for flare at 2 and soulfire at 1

I fixed it in my original post. I was writing as if to say Sylvanas is dead, but I phrased it the wrong way :)
