I'm going to assume no one really knows, so this'll be a fun guessing game - whoemever get's closest wins :p

Just to clarify - DUST not money.

Total, both GOLDEN and REGULAR cards.

The ultimate - long term goal - would be to buy the tgt packs (value)

Then afterwards, use my spreadsheet to determine which packs has the highest chance to get you new cards.

Focus mainly on GVG/TGT since classic packs are obtained through quests and tavern brawl.

DO NOT CRAFT ANYTHING. Until, you can craft ALL remaining cards for a set (GvG or TGT prefered for above reason)

Craft all the cards, rinse and repeat until you have a full collection.

Thank you very much for your suggestion and spreadsheet.

However, the biggest concern I have is that by buying the TGT packs, how can I determine what to DE to make dust for crafting when none of them have been tried in-game by more experienced players like you?  If I buy the TGT, say I get lucky and get 50 rares, aside from the extra copies, I wouldn't know if I should DE them or not, and hence not getting any dusts from the packs!

For newer players, while getting the "theroetically" good cards from TGT is nice, but what to do with the unknown cards?  DE them anyways?  But then this discount is one of a lifetime and that extra 10 packs (not the card back imo) is surely tempting!

The real point is that classic packs are free, and you'll get an average of 1.5 a week through spectate game quest and tavern brawl - where as all the other packs are not freely obtainable like this - so sure, it will take longer to get a decent collection - but it'll be cheaper to do so.

You can choose to get a good collection quicker - but in the long term it will end up costing you more money / time.

So, short term, if you want to have decent decks quickly, go for which ever pack has the highest chance on obtaining useful cards, which in your case seems to be classic, since it's impossible to say how many cards of TGT are going to be useful.

Long term, get the TGT, don't worry to much about getting a high rank (there's no benefit to it anyways) and get your classic packs weekly by doing the spectate quest if you get it, and the tavern brawls.

Sure, you won't know which cards are good and which are bad when the expac get's released, it might take a while actually, probably a month or two. But after those two months you'll have more dust than if you would buy the classic packs. Do remember, those 50 packs are going to have plenty of duplicates. So you'll probably end up with at least some dust!

I just can't stress this enough though -  all the classic packs you buy now, in 2 years, when you have all the classic packs, is going to drop the value of your free tavern brawl and spectate packs by SO MUCH! Essentially - no more new cards, just dust.

Thanks again for your insights.  Since I am going to consider playing the game long term, I am sold.  ^^

    Good luck!
And the sheet will be updated once all the cards have been announced, so you can download version 2.

I'll probably put a link in version 1 for version 2, there'll also be a post on the forums ofc.

BHTrix I just wanted to give a shout out and say thank you for the spread sheet. It is very helpful in trying to decide between whether to do an arena run or just buy card packs.

    Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I did nothing but remove the names of cards I don't own.

Here is the link to my version. I would really appreciate it if you could take a look.

Ohhh, you did it the wrong way around - you remove the cards you DO own, and you leave the ones you still need. :p

here: this should be right, also made it a bit more smaller, you can just delete rows, it'll update automatically.

Humm sounds odd, works fine here, but yes if you have most cards than your percentage should be very very low.

How did you ''fill'' it in? Because it's more of a, remove what you already have kinda thing :P and are you using it online or did you download it?

If it's online, maybe just make a copy of it, and give me the link to the copy, (make sure it's shared) and I'll have a look at it.

posted a message on help in picking legendaries in arena

Dno if you picked yet, but honestly, I would go for nefarian.

The thing is, even though deathwing is an awesome boardclear, he's also easily countered.

On top of that, he can cost you cards to play, since he will discard your entire hand, which means you will -always- lose at least 1 card. (Unless you keep coin and get a 1 mana card.., v. rare)

Nefarian however GIVES you cards, which is just awesome in arena - on top of that, if he does get removed, you still have the 2 cards he gave you - whereas with Deathwing your hand will be empty - and you're pretty screwed from here on forward.

Also nefarian has a small chance to actually grant you a boardclear.

Plus, with 11 picks to go... there'll probably be a boardclear.

So not saying Deathwing is a bad pick, in my opinion Nefarian is just slightly better.

For Rogue I would consider Bloodmage Thalnos.

Other great legendary cards are The Black Knight, Sylvanas and Ragnaros

"Face" is a term that the community have come up with, the correct term is "Hero"

    Ye :P thanks.
Think best idea is to just copy Explosive Trap card text. So it'll become:
Secret: When your hero is attacked, freeze all enemy minions. (Don't think it should freeze enemy hero also, bit OP).
