I don't really  think any mechanic is really broken, even Odd and Even decks weren't broken because of the mechanic itself , both Start of Game and Upgrade/discount your hero power permanently worked in the past with Prince Malchezaar, Justicar Trueheart and Raza the Chained. Raza was strong when KotFT came out so it's not the best example but even then it wasn't as oppressive as Odd and Even decks were.

Basically any mechanic can be both really strong or weak depending on the card itself, even "destroy the enemy hero." aka win the game is balanced because of the requirements it has on Mecha'thun

One thing I don't understand is  why people think magic screwed the old HP team, when you look at the timeline it goes like this
1) Curse begins to start shutting down hearthpwn
2) Links are spammed to their new site and old team has moved on
3) Magic purchases hearthpwn and keeps the site alive and asks the flux to stick around
4) Flux refuses and Magic still allows links to cards on the site

What exactly am I missing here?

Is anyone really gonna miss half a news page being "Hey guys, check out my pack opening stream!" or "Hey gamers! Check out this streamer I feel like advertising this week!" and then him having the gall to blame the website for the lag. I hope his site does well but I'm starting to doubt they won't fill the site with unoptimized garbage given guys who came in a few days ago already identified and are in the process of fixing the old owners fuck ups.

I understand that but shit design is shit design. I'm not going to jump ship over some dude or dudes I never cared about and some sob story. Right now out of cards is simply an inferior version of hearthpwn. I'm not going to download some crappy version of hearthstone on steam because they are indie or something, same thing here.

Ads are a non-issue when uBlock Origin exists. But with or without ads out of cards has a shit website design and will take a lot more work to make people jump ship. Besides hearthpwn and outofcards aren't  the only two websites with a fourm. I'll move to the blizzard fourms before I move there if they don't hire or find someone to do a proper job soon.
