    16x Defender of Argus!

Naw, Sylvanas and Leeroy are both quite fun and probably the first legendaries you can aim for.that will strengthen any deck.

Ysera and Ragnaros are sort of the high-drop counterparts to Sylv & Leeroy that make control decks more interesting and if later game decks are your thing, they're definitely a good pick up.

If not Shadowform doesn't work for you, maybe Archunai Soulpriest is right down your alley.

Why not try the original deck and familiarizing yourself further with the deck rather than changing cards from the get-go? You may find yourself at a loss if you keep changing cards and losing the feel of the deck.

Just food for thought. If Druid isn't your thing, then it only takes practice to get to where you want to be.

    Good call, forgot about Grom.

I did meet a non-otk warrior deck sometime down the road that made a couple of interesting synergies. It surprised me with Imp Master and Armorsmith for armor generation alongside Cult Master as a draw engine and Warsong to keep feeding monsters on the board. The Black Knight came out with Warsong on the field and execute helped give the Imps some purpose. Slam took care of the big creatures due to the huge boost in armor from Armorsmith when Imp master was out and he finished me with Leeroys and Grommosh

I want to build a deck sorta like that, but missing Grommosh, Brawl, and Shield Slam makes my mid-game, closing power, and armor generation all very lackluster.

I played a couple games with this at rank 8 with mixed results... I think the No Epics/Legendaries rule is holding it back from what it could be when most others in the single digits are running plenty expensive cards. What changes what you make if you had no budget and the whole collection at your disposal, Aishi?

No clue, I'd probably shove the basic legendaries in: The Black Knight, Leeroy, Sylvanas, Ragnaros. Just try to make the deck a bit more solid and keep the early game strong.

If I had access to all the Warrior cards, I probably wouldn't be playing this warrior deck and find another one that better suits my style, I'm not a fan of warrior decks at the moment.

Faceless Manipulator is the bomb. I love closing out games with him and Leeroy, using him alongside Tinkmaster or just reinforcing the board with a second Ancient of War. There's a good amount of uses for him, especially in a deck with so many other 5/7 drops.

Sometimes, the 5 health on Sylvanas is a very awkward position for the opponent to face on a clear board, which is why I keep her, the board is often clear, so sending Sylvanas to the front lines means that the opponent needs some early removal or is forced to make an awkward play (I love the one minion Equality from Paladins). Depends on the class, sometimes you get a simple Starfall to clear her, sometimes you get a Leeroy, Equality, Hex, Polymorph or Tinkmaster, early enough in the game where the opponent has no decent follow-up to pressure you any further.

I've also ditched Ysera in favor of The Black Knight now, just as a small update. I preferably call this deck Midrange because it's not a permanent increase in mana, it's just Innervate with a focus on 5 mana cards. We're not "ramping up" and staying at higher mana, just giving ourselves a little spark of mana where we need it - yes, a few higher end drops, but four~five cards isn't going to shift the perspective of the deck.

Highly recommend Novice Engineers over Loot Hoarders, I sacked those a while ago and Novice are almost always better for Rogues in any case.

If you're looking for combo cards, I don't think there's much else in terms of prepping for combos. I have 11 two mana drops, unless you really tap into the 1 drops like Leper Gnome/Argent Squire/Southsea Deckhand, you won't find other ways to combo very efficiently. What are a good amount of "low cost cards to combo" to you?

    Tinkmaster would be my pick!

It's like a third Polymorph, or a taunt-be-gone for Murlocs with a shred of usable stats. I'm sure it'll get you a win or two and be respectable in any deck you play, transforms or not.

I'm all in favor of consistency, so I can see your point. In the bigger picture, if it was for a second Avenging Wrath or <insert better card here>, probably worth it just to sack. I'd want to test just one more secret like Noble Sacrifice or something though.

In the end, if you're looking to deal some decent damage, Leper Gnomes may more or less accomplish the same thing with an actual minion behind it.

posted a message on Acidic Swamp Ooze

Hopefully there will be more alternatives, but Ooze and to some extension, Harrison Jones, excellent start.

This is the best way to keep a universal counter to weapon play, many people still do not run it in their decks and that's a testament to the balance of weapons - there is no necessity to keep a hard counter to weapons in every deck. If your deck is countered by weapons, then you have an option to some early game that can create breathing room for you. Weapons are already very strong, they use health as a resource and convert it to card advantage multiple times over considering the durability of a weapon. Not to mention it's value the same turn you play it! A good weapon can seal the deal on a game and that's just how weapons tend to work on the durability system.

For times he shines, it's when the opponent (namely, Rogue, Paladin, Warrior, Shaman - just under half the classes!) draws and uses a weapon against you. For other times, he's just a simple early game creature with good stats. It's consistent "staples" like this that allow for the early beginnings of a good pool of cards to even out the playing field on all levels and a precursor to a well-balanced game based on dynamic counterplay.

posted a message on Defender of Argus Best Practices

Fundamentally: attack & health buffs = free trades. You have complete control over the scenario you wish to use it in considering the use is on your terms. It may not be the most optimal use at times, but saving a creature at one health is easily enough to make sure Argus has paid for itself.

Taunts are a bonus that can be helpful in a pinch. Just be careful of The Black Knight running around these days!

By "practice", do you mean substitutes for Argus?

For a mimick to the taunt effect, Sunfury Protector
For a more reliable offensive spin, Dark Iron Dwarf

As a priest, I think keeping minions alive are pretty easy! It's what the hero power is for and Priests tend to play beefier minions due to that.

posted a message on Midrange Druid: Hit them with the big drops

You're far too hung up on the concept of not having cards on hand and this may skew your theorycrafting a bit. A single Ancient of War on a field of weenies has won me far too many games to count and if direct removal were that rampant, Druids wouldn't swear by it so much. Druid decks have often run much less spell damage and starfalls compared to my deck and done better than I. Either way, your own experience will probably lead you to picking the correct card for your playstyle. After all, maybe you haven't found the optimal way to play Ragnaros. Keep at it, good luck.
