The Arena Coop just hit 750+ concurrent viewers last weekend! =D Very excited. Still every Sunday at 8pm eastern. Win rate took a hit in GvG, down to 8.5 wins/run now, but we're starting to making a comeback as the meta settles.
Anyway, Merps and I have a very special announcement on our twitch stream tomorrow night at 8pm NY time sharp. Join us to celebrate and do a couple of epic runs w/ guest co-hosts Shengster, and Shokunin!
Nice! Thanks so much for the support guys. We'll have a major algorithm and site upgrade by the end of the week.
Also, if you haven't had a chance to check out our stream yet www.twitch.tv/adwcta, tomorrow night (Thursday 8pm NY time), is a great time to start, as we're making a BIG twitch announcement at 8 sharp, and celebrating with a couple runs after. =D Would love to have you guys join us.
Our premium show, the Arena Coop (currently: 8.5 wins/run), is every Sunday night at 8pm, and we also stream two more times throughout the week with guest infinite arena co-hosts on random nights/weekends (it's announced via twitter and in the info panel below our twitch stream).
We're doing the limited release of HearthArena now @ www.heartharena.com. It's a revolutionary drafting app. Yes, revolutionary. =P We think it's difficult to oversell this. ::pats self on back:: Give it a shot and let us know what you think!
HearthArena has been over a year in development, and now has 100,000+ values, hundreds of calculators, and it's generally pretty insane. =P
Sign up and you should get access in 5-10 minutes.
Yep, on the reddit thread when we launched the tier list, some guy interpreted that the top card in each tier was the best card (despite the exact Value of the card being right next to everything with the word "Value" on it, repeated ~30 times per page).
He got 50 upvotes (net). =(
Sometime in January, this whole thing is going to be sortable and filterable however you want to slice it, with even more features (that's the third part of our Drafting toolset). And after that, we shift our focus back away from the draft to matchups and gameplay decisionmaking analysis (the harder stuff =P).
Hey guys, I spent the last couple months creating a tier list for the updated Arena meta. Just released it today. It has exact values for each card. Will be updated with all revealed cards for GvG on Day 1 and the unrevealed cards within 48 hours of launch. Will also be updated continuously through all meta changes, whether due to patches, expansions, or even just the slowly but sure shifts in Arena meta.
For those who don't know me, I am a 7.5+ wins/run Arena player post-Naxx (8.5+ with top 6 classes). I co-host a stream with my friend Merps, and together we have averaged a twitch-leading ~9 wins/run for 4 straight months. You can find all our archived runs at www.youtube.com/adwcta or watch live at www.twitch.tv/adwcta.
Update: We're 3+ months in, now have a set schedule at 8pm eastern on Sunday evenings, and our record just keeps improving. Now at 9.4 wins per run (79%+ win rate).
We wrapped up our 4th run last week (odd time on a Tuesday night, so we didn't advertise).
But, we did get 12-wins with a post-Naxx Hunter! So, that was exciting. You can find it in the past broadcasts section and follow us at: www.twitch.tv/adwcta.
Also, we're streaming Run #5 this Sunday at 2pm eastern time for a Paladin run, so catch us then.
I'm ADWCTA. I stream weekly with a friend, Merps, and together we talk through every pick and play to give our stream a coaching vibe. We hope the Arena Coop can be an entertaining learning resource for intermediate players. All broadcasts are recorded at put on www.youtube.com/adwcta, so you can watch later even if you can't watch live! www.twitch.tv/adwcta. I've also written some Arena articles designed to improve your Arena game at Link Removed: http://www.hearthstoneplayers.com/contributor/adwcta. Finally, we're also the guys behind the revolutionary drafting advisor's algorithm at www.heartharena.com.
The Arena Coop is now 7 months old! Our record is at 8.5 wins per run, or 76%+ win rate, which makes us the winning-est Arena stream in the Hearthstone community by a rather wide margin. We save all our streams on the youtube site, so we're making everything as transparent as absolutely possible for the doubters out there. =P That's right, it *is* possible to average 8.5+ wins per run in the Arena!
We typically stream Sunday evening eastern time @ 8:00pm. Next stream schedule is always in the twitch link.
Yes, but luck is not 50/50. The whole point of playing a game with a RNG, instead of chess, is to win on the odds. This deck is good for laddering to Legend (esp. ranks 5-1), and tournaments (Trump just pulled it out this week and went 1-1 with it against Strifeco), because the idea is to win more expected/common matchups than you lose. In particular, it boasts ridiculous win%s vs. Miracle Rogues and Handlocks while coming out even vs. just about everything else (with 33-40% for Zoo/Control Warrior). It's a deck that's "good for the meta".
It is not good for trying to go deep into Top 100 Legend, because those win%s are all above 60% vs the best Hearthstone players, which means you'll want much less RNG than a deck with no card draw and that relies on Brawl, and rely much more on a consistent deck and making less mistakes than your opponent. But, for most people doing most things (whether it be getting to legend, or beating your friend's deck, or a tourney), this is very nice, because you WANT things to be luck based when the odds are in your favor.
