You basically need a dedicated game plan for each deck and mulligan for those strategies. Also, you need to be bringing your A-game. You can't afford careless mistakes. Just one is all it takes to lose a game in this area. Think your moves completely before making them.
I managed to get to Rank 5 at least 4 times this season but have yet to get to Rank 4. I feel my deck is about as good as it gets when it comes to tackling the meta. My goal is to get to Legend once for the card back and I am so done.
I feel your pain. It looks like we're in a similar situation. I've even been using the same (or at least a similar) deck.
From what I've heard it's pretty normal. It seems like it takes at least as long to go from 5 to legend as it does to go from 20-5... possibly longer.
I want to say don't give up! But at the same time, I think at this point I may just start pushing earlier next season.
I won't give up and will start earlier next season but I don't think I'll make it this season, drop back to 6 again... lost like 10 in a row in an ugly fashion.
It's been 3 days stuck at rank 4. I go all the way down to 6 back to 4 and stay there. I can't get to rank 3 and want to go for legend.
Is this normal? Should I change decks. I think my deck is strong I'm using totem (bloodlust) shaman.
Should I give up legend or keep up pushing?
Going to legend is not simply netdecking the best deck and play it straight forward. In my legend runs i changed the decks really often.
Realize the meta you are playing against. Change to the deck which beat the decks you face the most time.
If it is possible, dont play at the afternoon. If you have the time or you are a Student play at the morning. I have an average 10% better win percentage at the morning.
Listening to cancer Musical gives you additional 10%.
Good luck to legend!
Tried playing this morning and got wrecked... maybe weekdays mornings? cancer musical? what's that
Up until Rank 5 (and Rank 5 itself) it's an easy game. Once people reach Rank 5 they play a game or two, drop intentionally or start playing Casual or Arena. Once they got golden epic reward.
Above 5 (Rank 4+) only tryhards with the best possible decks or multi legend players that do it for the sake of comeptition, it's completely different game after that and it's no wonder you hit the wall. I hit that wall 3 months in row and max I went in those 3 months was Rank 3 and even that it felt lucky, right back to 4.
Even tho you are using good deck (Totem Shaman) so is everyone else. Tempo Warrior, Totem Shaman, Midrange Hunter, Miracle Rogue and some Zoo... not a single bad deck there.
Keep on pushing! Try to adapt the deck vs classes you face the most. See tons of Warrs? Harrison Jones it is (even in Totem Shaman)
Thanks. The deck Im using includes Harrison and it's a life saver

That's my plan. I've been playing since closed beta and although all (or most season) I get to rank 5 i just can't seem to get to legend and only plan on doing it once.

Trust me. It can be brutal out there. Since making my last post, I managed to get to Rank 4 twice so far and has been steady there with my Yogg Tempo Mage. I may attempt a long grind today and see if I can make it to mid Rank-3 at the worst. If, by the next 3 hours, I didn't make Rank 3, I will just stop for the season.
After all, there is only 2 days left. Next month will be a golden opportunity if I don't make it.
I mostly face the same classes over and over again, and they are pretty balanced compared to what I play (midrange shaman and zoolock) so I'm stuck at 4 too now. The only thing you could try is stick to a deck for an entire season so you know every encounter by heart. That's atleast how I got to legend before.

It's just a grind, you need to play like 200 games with ~60% winrate deck and eventually you will get to legend.
