This seems like such an obvious trap card. The benefit to your opponent seems so much more pronounced then the benefit to yourself, why would you ever put this in your deck? Seems like this is a card that even the unaware only put into their decks once or twice untill they get destroyed by the effect, and then vow to never use again.
Everyone assumes, that the enemy has a million spellcards in his hand when you play it. It's a high risk, high reward card. I accept it, that unleashing several strong spells can be devastating, but if he doesnt have any, or if they are situational spells and not used (taunt, charge, silence etc.), then I just got a 4/4 for only 2 MC. I think if you get high manacost cards in your starting hand, you'll most likely re-pick those, as they have little use for you in the first turns.
I know what I'm saying is hypothetical, but let's be honest, its also hypothetical that when I play Millhouse Manastorm (esp if I can play it in turn 2-4) then my opponent can deliver fatal damage in one turn.
Yes, but what the others and I talked about since the 2nd post, is the card itself. It's quite obvious that when I play against a magedeck, that kept playing + spellpower cards and only damaged me with spells, I wont play Millhouse Manastorm from my hand. But there are decks that doesnt have a lot of spell/ability cards, and a 4/4 for only 2 MC is good.
I'd gladly take a Pyroblast or an Awenging Wrath in the face, if that means next turn when I play Molten Giant or Ragnaros or whatever, then my opponent wont have any means to destroy these cards.
Ofc there are spells (like you said Sprint) that should be played whenever posible.
Early on you can most likely afford to play this card without a worry, because I doubt my opponent wants to use all of his spells (that he managed to draw) in his/her 2nd or 3rd turn, because it will leave him open for more cunning minions I have. You might even use it as a retard magnet. Make him use his spells then play something even stronger.
