It's been confirmed to be intended (or, well, it's not a bug at least). Essentially when Mistress of Pain deals damage it heals you for that much, but with Auchenai Soulpriest that healing is instead ALSO damage it deals, leading to an infinite loop.
That's the stupidest thing I've read all week. No way the game designers were coming up with Mistress of Pain going like like "oh yeah if Auchenai Soulpriest is in play and Mistress of Pain attacks you fucking lose instantly"
Sounds like an excuse not to fix this interaction.
You clearly don't read many threads on here if that's the stupidest thing you have read. I'm sure the designers didn't actually think about it when they started designing Mistress, but in testing when they found the interaction they probably left it in because it's a very cool interaction. The game needs crazy interactions to keep it interesting. Yes, this one in particular is very rare because it uses 2 different class cards, but it's still really cool.
How could this ever be intended. Read the card descriptions. Auchenai makes healing into damage. Mistress of pain makes you heal 1 damage. So how does healing over 30 make any sense.
When Mistress of Pain tries to heal you, it instead causes you one damage because of Auchenai. But since MOP caused damage to you, it tries to heal you again (as per its card description), and ends up damaging you again, ad infinitum until you die. Get it?
That is exactly how the interaction functions.
