How did the corruption of elves into orcs affect their physiological traits? We're any traits retained? Did Tolkien believe that orcs were inherently irredeemable? If they were redeemed, how would their physiological traits be impacted? Would some physical traits be kept? Is the possession of certain physical traits definitive of the race, or merely indicative, and how does this square with an elf or orc being in the process of either redemption or corruption?
