Hi everyone! I'm going to start by saying that I'm actually really angry against the opponent I've just played...
We were having a normal game, no complains, no emoting... He was a shudderwock shaman. On the end of the game, he was on fatigue and still had not played Shudderwock. Considering it was it last card on his hand, there was nothing to think. But, instead of playing it he waited until the last second and therefore burned half my time.
Even he would have played it at the start of that same turn, I had nothing I could do to counter it, but it made me angry he waited until the last second to do it...
After all this story I come up with an idea, taking into consideration blizz is listening to players and changing things around... Could it be that battlecry effects end when the turn's time ends? So, if you take to long to play cards like this (even Yogg) and takes too long, just cuts it, so it makes players play it faster.
Yes, I know that a part of that consumed time is because of animation time, but something should be changed.
What do you think? Maybe I'm way wrong and it's ok... maybe Shudder should only play shaman battlecries? Maybe I have to accept that this cards is a painful play...
Are you absolutely SURE that Shudder burned half of your time? As it not just that it 'ran past' the time they had but you KNOW that you ended up losing half of your actual 70 seconds due to the battlecry?
If so, that's a bug that needs to be reported.
The way the mechanic is supposed to work is that the animations don't eat up opponent's time. Effectively, a quasi-additional time is added to the opponent's turn where the opponent can't play any cards but it's still 'their turn' to give the animations time to end before the next turn. We got to see it in play a while back due to an odd bug where the rope would 'reappear' after a turn ends if the animations were still going.
The point is, no matter how long the animations take, you should still get your 70 second turn. If you know you didn't, that's a bug that's working against the game mechanics and something blizzard can, and will, fix. They've done the same with other effects. The only effect waiting till the end to play shudder walk should have is just an extended BM similar to waiting till the end of the rope to concede. Which is annoying but nothing to completely change how a major part of the game works (and ruin A LOT of tournament play given how top players tend to think out their turns and use the entire time).
So either it's something that you need to report to blizzard to fix or just a part of multiplayer life that is to be accepted as the solution will bring more problems than the initial problem.
You must be right... Maybe I just felt like it burned my turn's time just because it took an eternity... I'll pay more attention the next time it happens (hope it never does), and see how much time left of my turn is after all those animations...
