Looking at the new expansion one should ask himself: what will the skill floor be? Higher than the previous expansion(s) the same or lower.
Generally people critical are those who look for a higher skill floor, harder win conditions, more balance, creativity, less steep RPS ( a.k.a not a polarized meta), more diversity.
On the contrary the fanboys (face is the place) don't care about skill, don't care about the board or interactivity. For those masses the rush-mechanic will be difficult to swallow as it seems to incourage slower, more creative meta.
As the politics behind card design centers around how to maximize pack selling to the target audience, the fanboy (made this game huge succes), I'm really pessimistic about the skill level and expect dullness, staleness, mindlessness not to differ much from previous expansions.
fanboys = aggro players. mmm, why is that?
Aggro players are fanboys, but not all fanboys are aggro players. Fanboys settle for the 5-sided appearance of mindlessness (5-sAoM): the utilization and dominance in win-condition of burn-buff-summon-charger-weapon - mechanics: don't care about the board, face is the place kind of mentality.
Judging the current meta, making a distribution from 1 to 10, meaning from mindless aggressive/don't care about the board (1) to most creative/skill-build (10), I would rate the following:
Aggro/dudadin Paladin/ Zoolock/Kingsbane Rogue, secret Mage: 1; all Hunter: 2; Miracle Rogue/Quest Rogue: 3; all pPiest except control Priest 3; Control Priest 6; Cubelock 7. Most builds are lower than 5, which speaks for itself.
As such, secret Mage is a mindless deck but not qualify as aggro ( maybe spell-aggro).
Myself, I don't know jack, but there's a world-class player who would like to have a word with you.
