If you read the rules about the challenge phase 1 was in the first 10 days of the expansion, where you had to stream every dungeon run attempt and the top ten players with the lowest number of attempts needed to earn the Candle King card back advanced to phase 2, where you can win the $30k.

If you are playing dungeon run and happen to get this bug I doubt Blizzard would ban you if you played another boss.
