I have also changed my vote from very good to meta defining. I was always positive about this card and I have crafted it golden as soon as the expansion launched. Along with Hydrologist and Spikeridged Steed it brought paladins to T2
This could very well be one of the most underrated / poorly predicted legendaries ever.
Paladins may not be tier 2 or 1 now but this one is so good. He saved me so many times or gave me more burst against let's say a mage TTK. Fits well in most decks
I have to agree, I was hoping too to get him in golden out of my 280 packs but I got him normal only. I will craft him golden though. Best intro so far for me, and the music is so orgasmic. I main paladin too but I don't know how competitive it can be in this meta, I tried too a midrange deck with Silverhand Recruits
People have to realise the difference between Aldor and Keeper, Eadric and sunkeeper. What would Eadric or Aldor do against Ragnaros or Ysera or Yshaarj? Nothing, you would still have to trade minions against them, if you didn't have minions, goodbye. That's why Sunkeeper and Keeper are useful. They bring these dangerous minions in range of your weapons like Rallying Blade or Truesilver Champion, or in range of smaller minions. Sunkeeper even brings your own minions in range of killing anything like this.
Now that we are losing Keeper of Uldaman, better use this rather than nothing. Combines well with weapons, HP, ARgent Squire, Bluegill warriors, Hydrologist, Patches and other small pirates. We will see though :)
We will see then. Might be good, might not be. Eadric in my Buffadin deck was an awesome solution to counter big jade boards, or Handlock, Dragon warrior, Concealed Edwin etc. This has a downside though. But thats the good part. The downsite can be good too in a more aggressive deck, or just in a midrange or control where you have small minions.
And since we are losing 2 Keeper of Uldamans which were OP 4 drops for paladins, then this can be a nice replacement. We will see though. Unfortunately its not that combinable with Dinosize
Lots of people used that argument and I disagree. It is a counter to Jades. What does it matter that the druid will summon more? So if my opponent summons jades I shouldn't touch them because he will summon more? There's no point in saying that. He is a counter to jades, and lots of otehr stuff. If your opponent played 6/6 and 7/7 and Jade behemoth on one turn isn't this a counter so you can trade your weapon and other minions on them? Yes the other guy will spawn more, but until that time you might get your Aldor out, your Tirion out, Equality and so on.
Great card, great it exists. Haters gonna hate anyway. People are still believing a single class legendary can save a class from unplayability ... When this happens, it means the card is broken. We don't want broken cards for Paladin. We don't want another Mysterious Challenger. We want solid, interesting cards like Keeper of Uldaman, Ivory Knight or this one.
Exactly. Yesterday I was thinking that the loss of Keeper of Uldaman would be a great loss for paladins. This bad boy though will still do the job. Enables trades, buffs your aggro deck, buffs your Silver Hand Recruits, Brings huge and dangerous minions to Truesilver levels. That's great. I will craft it if I don't get it
It has shitty stats because it has a powerful battlecry. He is a replacement for Keeper. If it will buff the enemy then it shouldn't be played until you get a board. It's obvious
Lol so many negative comments and people saying he is bad. Why was Keeper of Uldaman such a powerful minion? It made big and dangerous enemy minions tiny enough to be chopped down by either our minions or Truesilver Champion. This is what this guy is going to do...
Eadric the Pure won me lots of matches in this Jade meta. A 4/9 Eadric debuffing a board full of Jades? Thanks!
But what does this card do? Let's start with Keeper of Uldaman. What was it purpose? Buff your small minions or Hero Power, or, an even better solution, debuff a big minion to get him in range of Rallying Blade or Truesilver Champion. What do paladins have as an answer against Ragnaros the Firelord, or Ysera, or a Dragon filled board? This thing brings everything in range to be butchered down by small minions and our weapons. That's the ideal play. Or, if we control the board, or have 2-3 small minions alive, then this guy is the perfect play after that.
Some mentioned Stand Against Darkness. Yes, it can work, but who is stupid enough to let them live? It works though As a combo after you used Emperor Thaurissan [/card]in wild mode, or can combo really really well with [card]Muster for battle.
Also the artwork is fucking awesome. Can't wait to see it in golden.
If I don't get him from a pack I will craft him. Looks awesome. The art is so sick. Can't wait to see the golden version. Also very good for an aggro or midrange paladin deck. Good synergy with our hero power, and Muster in wild. Synergizes with Wickerflame, Marshal, but unfortunately not Handbuff mechanic.
I think he will work good enough in a divine shield deck
