Yup, people read the Battlecry or use it in a game they already won and think WOW i so countered that guy with my op tech card, when you could have had a better card in your deck that actually helps you win and isn't dead in all other matchups. Look at the stats, look at it's cost. I remember seeing a podcast like 2 weeks ago where Firebat and some other streamers/casters were talking about Wild, when Eater came up in discussion everyone agreed that the card is pure garbage and not worth running,
Thanks for the kudos guys -- my Battle Tag is Goose Snack. There's only so many of us on Wild, so it's good to see you guys around here.
I actually played Secret Paladin for a good while, but I'm embarrassed to say that after about 200 games I was stuck around Rank 4 (I think my win rate was barely 51%). The deck really isn't that good in the meta because so many people play decks that counter it, with the addition of Eater of Secrets. The N'Zoth Priest is very good, but the games were too slow for me, and I found it frustrating to lose after a 20 minute match.
As for Brawl, I did see some Patron decks run the card. I didn't bother because I rarely hit aggro decks. Those two Zoo decks I faced in the end were anomalies.
People have become so sick and tired of Paladin that they are teching in 1-2 eater of secrets. Others are running spellbreaker, ooze, Harrison, even blood knight. Even with decks countering Paladin, he's still 15-30% of the meta depending on the time and day. I also noticed some Paladins are running Nzoth instead of Boom so they can res their entire board of creepers, shredders, belchers and tirion. Nzoth is an "I win" card even more than Boom if you survive to turn 10. Board clears don't work well due to their stickiness. The meta is mostly aggro, so its a shock you didn't hit many zoos.
Wonder when will people learn eater of secrets does absolutely nothing, it's a complete useless card, even vs secret paladin, you win by board control, same as before.
I found the Secret Paladin player!
We're not falling for your tricks. Every time I've cast Eater of Secrets after Mysterious Challenger, I've won that game. Coincidence? Possibly, but I would say unlikely.
*rolls eyes* Wouldn't touch that deck with a ten foot pole. Anyone capable knows Eater of Secrets is pure garbage, if your board was empty and his was full when MC came down, you lost either way, wow, you got 2 mana left ? his board is full, and you got a "big" minion that gets countered by a million things in his deck, or just ignored, while he proceeds to bash your face in. You had a board ? and he has none and MC comes down ? congrats, you won the game, you didn't need Eater of Secrets in the first place, let alone it making your other matchups a lot worse because of having dead cards in your deck. You win by playing patiently and smart vs them, or by playing decks that completely counter'em, like Freeze or Control Priest. By all means, keep using it though if you think it's good.
Well I'll leave you to your theorycrafting. Meanwhile, I'll be winning games against secret Paladin with Eater of Secrets. Cheers!
Way to be not only clueless, but a total asshole. Cheers buddy!

I've tried N'zoth Priest myself, the games take too long and hunters really take care of them, so I see less of them as more people played hunter. Two Call of the Wild is usually too much for the priest to handle.
My journey was quite a ride, I was rank 1 and two wins away from legend. Then I tilted back to rank 4. But thankfully, I took a day off and got back in calmly playing and thinking about my plays longer. Got 7-0 and 11-3 runs the next two days and got back in from rank 4 to legend :D
How is call of the wild a problem with 2x Lightbomb ?
