Anyone interested in giving the ladder a go in Legends who is still building their collection - I've got a video for you! A solid budget list full of cards that appear in a lot of more expensive decks:
I just read the other guy's recent posts and yea he's just one of the blatantly self-entitled jerks with no regard for the real word, facts, or data plaguing this site. Not saying you're right, but he's definitely not worth anyone's breath.
Says the one that deny that legs are by far the most important cards in hearthstone because they cost so much in dust compared to any other rarity. You got rekt by facts in the other discussion using arguments, and i see you keep going personal. I should expect no less from a pathetic troll like you.
Just because they're more expensive doesn't make them more important. I have seen many decks with legendaries get rekt by decks with no legendaries at all. Most legendaries are actually pathetic and don't even see play.

@DMaster2; granted I'm not well versed on Gwent's deck costs, but every other competitor has the same thing. Good decks (usually) require at least 1-2 playsets of the rarest cards to be fully optimized.
That being said, a lot of decks in Hearthstone's history haven't had Legendaries. Zoolock actually didn't run Leeroy all the time at competitive levels, and was composed of commons and rares. Midrange Hunter currently doesn't use any Legendaries I believe, while being a top tier deck... and that list never really has. Control Priest was spendy because of Epics, but during something like the LoE days I don't believe it bothered running any Legendaries in the optimal lists. Aggro Paladin was cheap, Facehunter was cheap, Egg Druid was cheap.
Decks that required a single Legendary like Dragon Priest had it in the form of a neutral you could use elsewhere (in this case, Brann), which makes the cost a lot more bearable since you could use those for other lists and get more mileage for you dust. And don't forget you can still only run a single copy, compared to most other games where you're crafting a playset of 3-4 to build out a competitive list.

@DMaster2; that's mainly the thing I'm contesting though, as I did read the thread your referencing. I believe you stated that the competitive versions of Zoo all had Leeroy, when in most cases they cut Leeroy in favor of Doomguard for a very long time or ran Sea Giants at one point when the build was trying to flood as much as possible. And as I indicated in my post, Midrange Hunter is also a list that's generally just ignored Legendaries because Hunter's are usually crap and Highmane was all the top end they ever really wanted.
It's definitely not the most important rarity in Hearthstone, or at the very least hasn't stopped people from playing an optimal list if they're on a tight budget. I'm not sure I can say the same for other CCGs at this point.

Well if we're talking pre-rotation then we're definitely talking a much more expensive Zoo list since they either went with the heavy Demon package (namely, Mal'Ganis) or something like Chakki's Winter Championship list that skipped the Demons and would run Leeroy alongside Loatheb and Dr. Boom. Post rotation have very cheap builds available for it though if I recall.
As an amusing side note, 2 people brought Zoolock to the 2016 World Championship and both were around 1300 dust for crafting cost.
