My idea is to make a league where you're matched against another person. Match can be played anytime in that week that both players agree on. I don't know what other people think of this idea. I also don't know exactly how I would organize this. Just thinking this would be a good way to meet people and have some fun. I'd love to get some feedback or ideas on how to do this.
I like the idea but orginization will be a pain in the a** if this concept grows. Addidng a small prize (not necessarily money) will encourage people to join.

The least butt pain way for organizing would probably program an easy website with and automated script. People who want to take part fill in their informations, get an email with an ID code which they have to fill in when they report their results. Though no observer is needed. If money gets involved it can get dicey.
or a suggestion, you can use a set amount of teams and just copy a sports league. for example, use the nba schedule (which might not be the best idea since its so long/so many games at a time) and assign each player a representative team.
I don't really mind the work at first. Just trying to figure out how to organize it. I don't know how to get started on a website. My friend recommended starting a facebook group or something and run the ladder through facebook. The hardest part is getting it started in my opinion.
Does the facebook idea sound like a good way to organize it?
Use challengone.com as a website that is designed for this. I link you a tournament where I participated once to show you how the bracket system works. There is no need for a referee, the parties have to update the game results on the website and in case of any debate about the result the screenshot of the won game can be a decisive factor. I don't like the Facebook idea, there will be some people who prefer the anonimity.
I was thinking about it and my comment made no sense for a league type format, only for a single tournament for which there are a lot of websites if you want to organise one. The main point of a league could be that there are no brackets and no elimination, but perhaps an MMR based ranking system that updates every season. The difference between a league like this and the ladder could be that in the tournament players play BO3s or BO5s with a ban system and maybe a referee, so the whole environment is a tournament format with tournament decks not a grindy ladder environment so the skills will reflect much better in the results. It would be also more fair than the ladder because you could be matched against players who have the same stats (win/loss ratio or ELO, it's up to you to decide which system is best). We can make a league where every player, veteran or new, has a chance to play in a tournament format against equally skilled opponents.
I would join for sure, though Ive only been playing for a couple months, I have done things like this on other games, and the best way to verify is generally just a simple screenshot. Saves a lot of scheduling annoyances ie. Referee etc.
I don't know if the same thing would be successful for Hearthstone, however Im just brainstorming!
Looking forward to the progression of the league creation for fun and to meet people.
Did this ever happen? I would like to get in on something like this.

Played wow for a few years now I like playing Hearthstone. I do stream once in a while but I'm just trying to get better right now. I like playing weird decks but would also would like to get to Legend.
Hey guys! I have GREAT news. A website I use to play clan matches off of could potenially add Hearthstone to their list of games. They have ladder formats that would be just like a league. The more wins you have the higher you are on top of the ladder! Should be fun. All i need is for people to show some support on the forumn for wanting this game.
Below is the link. You will probably have to create an account to write on the forum. But without your support this will not happen. I hope you all can support this so we can have a fun, competitive place to play and meet people.

I like it! However, this would be a lot of work for whoever's in charge. Overall it wouldn't be too complicated tho, set it up like any other sport.

I've moved your thread to our Players and Teams discussion forum.

I would also be interested in beingnpart of it. It is a really good idea!
English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes! :)
I think facebook will work fine! Might need some way of checking if people are reporting wins correctly tho.
I liked the Facebook idea too! I would join for sure. For proper recordings, maybe it would be like a screenshot protocol?
