I just picked up the beta this week and was starting to build a mage deck when I saw all the nerfs come through. Before I go investing a lot of time & effort into the mage, can anyone give me a run down of what decks are strongest and weakest right now? Thx in advance :)
The Mage nerfs hit a specific set of cards - namely AoE freezes that a specific Mage deck. Yes, the nerf hit the other mage decks as well, but Mages are still incredibly strong for a starting class. Nothing compares to cards like Flamestrike, Arcane Intellect, Fireball, Frostbolts, and Polymorphs to start you out with a strong support for a deck - and they're all part of the basic set.
Druids on the other hand, are incredibly expensive between the amount of necessary rares and great epics.
Ok thanks for that. If I plan to stick around for a while and maybe pick up the 50 deck to get myself going ... think druid or mage is the better way to go?
It majorly depends on what cards you pull from the 50 packs, agreed? Try both classes to level 15 or so, get a grip of each, then see what you grab from the packs and decide after. No need to rush into planning out a deck so fast without knowing how you enjoy each one.
