Although I understand both perspectives (Blizzard and Loyal free-to-play users) I am inclined to agree with the idea that everyone should be able to receive the free decks. This is probably due to my specific circunstances.
I played Hearthstone in its very beginning and after about a year I left until about a year ago.
I've been grinding since and, a year later, I am finally able to compete (minimally) in the ranked ladder.
It took me a year to finally have at least more than 2-3 decent decks and I, unfortunately, didn't receive nor Zillion, nor Snip-Snap, nor Vargoth, etc etc.
So now I kinda feel some resentment. So should I have not played for the last 4 months and I would receive a better deck (or same level) as the ones I have, Galakrond, Kael - basically everything I've been playing for the last months?
I bought the pre-order to finally keep up and raise my chances to climb the ladder and everyone that was afk or joining is going to receive something decent at the start?
One year ago I was playing basic start deck for Mage and Priest...
Anyways, this is mostly a rant and although I understand is just not fair.
To be fair, its reasons like this why people become afk in the first place, Blizzard doesn't reward loyal players so they leave, but they reward when they come back.
I think the reason why people were stopping playing is because it is very tiresome to get enjoyable collection as FTP. Now, we are getting duplicate protection + new ranked reward system with will reward loyal and also new players a lot.
Imho people just think that if they will be complaining whole the time they will maybe force blizzard to give them something for free. I say: thank the devs/pms at blizzard for those changes and a lot of new content - they did admirable job and made good decisions to improve the quality and affordability of the game.
Yeah because "the game is designed to be Free 2 Play friendly" in first place right?...RIGHT?!. Card games are not very F2P friendly almost never. Every TCG online has the same for F2P: a very slow grinding system that let the player get some amount of cards for free. HS will implement the "you dont get dupes anymore" system to make it even easy for both F2P and Dolphin players. That is a huge dealt. You will reduce the amount of packs needed a lot.
