I'm 95% aware of how the dust refund works when the year of the dragon hits, but i just want to be 100% sure before it happens.
So as it happens right now of all the cards that are gonna be HoFed I have the following: 2x normal doomguard, 2x normal naturalize, 2x normal divine favor, normal Genn, 1x normal gloom stag, 2x normal black cat, 2x normal murkspark eel.
Now what i wanna have confirmed is if i craft 2 golden copies for everything, and golden baku and genn, i will get the dust refund for the golden copies exclusively so then i can disenchant the golden ones and still have the normal copies? The thing is i have enough dust to do this, and i know it isn't such a big profit for common and rare cards, but i wanna maximize all the dust that i can get to the very last drop.
That won't make you any more gold than you'd get normally. Unless you want free golden versions of any of the cards, just craft gloom stag, baku and a couple moths and take your free dust for the rest.
The only cards you can actually profit off by doing this are commons with a yield of 10 dust per common, meaning you get +40 dust through the cat and naturalize in this HoF cycle.
Edit: Instead craft golden versions of the cards you don't have any regular copies of. You can then either decide to keep them, essentially getting them for free, or disenchant them once the patch hits and get some decent extra dust.
No Profit at all in crafting golden cards when you already own the normal one (except rares: 10 dust Profit).
example: for a normal Baku, you get 1600 dust.
When you craft a golden Baku (-3200), blizzard Refunds only the golden one for 3200. You can disenchant it for 1600, so you net profit 1600. It‘s exactly the same to not crafting it in the first place.
honestly if u have the dust available to craft copies of them in golden then I don't think u should be too much worried about how much dust you are about to receive nor it is deserving of ALL CAPS in the title. u are swimming in a pool of dust just like Scrooge Mcduck

Yes. If you craft the golden ones, you will get the golden dust refund. Then you can disenchant them and keep the normal copies.
There are like 100 threads on this, do some legwork on your own.

Just craft golden what you're missing : golden Baku, 1 x golden gloom stag, 2 x golden glitter moth.
That's how you'll maximize your dust.
