You just know there were a few suits at Activision who have already said "Hey, that new Overwatch game, why can't we promote it with cards in hearthstone. It's our most popular game, it makes business sense"....now excuse me, I just made myself ill.
Actually I think they would be more pushing for another ccg with all Blizzard universes in it so they can double dip they would even cycle expansions for the new one to come out 2 months after a HS one essentially doubling the revenue they can make.
GVG and Gadgetzan and Ragnaros lightlord and all that ys they deviate from wow lore but they still stay in the realm of WOW, they are still races and chars from WOW even if altered, one of the reasons they removed the "heroes of warcraft" from the name was so that they can make expansions based on WOW without literally connecting to bosses/chars/places, like it's the same universe but you dont have to have those exact chars in game like reno jackson isn't in wow.
Gadgetzan is a real place in the Tanaris region of Azeroth. Means Streets of Gadgetzan takes place in a more advanced Gadgetzan (possibly in the future).
Goblins vs Gnomes makes sense because both races have very similar hobbies (building and blowing stuff up).
Ragnaros the Lightlord is just a Ragnaros that was never corrupted by the Old Gods.
wouldn't say "if he wasn't corrupted" he would still be made of lava :P but yeah that was my point it is still gadgetzan, still part of wow just not directly corralated to the gadgetzan we see in WOW currently.
Here is where your idea is faulty, imagine EA making the next FIFA game, and they announce you gonna have a new DLC where you can get NBA players to play football, you can play with kobe bryant on FIFA. It doesn't make any sense not does fit the theme of the game since they are from 2 games completly different from eachother. Same can be applied here where 1 game that has 1 theme from 1 world just wouldn't "fit" with another world with a completly different theme and feel.
yes i did compare them since the annalogy makes sense in the comparison, if you decide to make an all star mosh of players and/or games sure it makes sense to have kobe and CR and Tiger Woods and all that but if you make a game with a theme and then break the theme for the sake of it well the game just feels weird, imagine you got a lara croft game, and while playing dante from devil may cry and leon from resident evil come participate in the game, just cuz they could.
But yeah we each have different points of view and both of us are influenced by our tastes in games and such so i'ma walk out of this topic with a "let's agree to disagree".
Because the game and almost everything in it is based on Warcraft and, at this point, it'd make no sense not to limit it to the Warcraft universe at this stage in the game.

I'd actually be pretty cool with GearOFF's idea. It seems like a cool concept that doesn't break the feel of hearthstone for me
Also, all the classes are in WoW,
There are hints to other games tho like Infested Tauren. That should be enough

Garrosh did nothing wrong.
Hearthstone is a WOW item so it doesn't really change the point :P less emphasys on the "heroes" we already know i guess.
